Linear Compensators : The Better Muzzle Device, Reducing Perceived Concussion And Sound On The Cheap

- Hello and welcome to the channel, Outside the Target Demographic.
In this video, I showcase a linear compensator muzzle device, and how to install one on any threaded barrel. New, novice and experienced shooters will all appreciate the difference in fireball, debree, concussion, and noise directed AWAY from them.
If you enjoyed this video, consider catching up on the rest of my video catalog, and if I've earned it, consider subscribing.
So, they actually do work?
Yes, but just like "silencers that totally absolutely make your Barrett sound like an air gun", the effect is reasonable but not magic. For $20:
-70% concussion from the AR15
+ a little muzzle weight, maybe helping with recoil and pointability
- maybe 1 or 2 decibles from the shooter's position
- 20% less flash and fireball, from the shooter's perspective
You can pay much more for a muzzle device and get less return. The first AR I bought was someone else's build, and they had a muzzle break on it. It blew SO much concussion rear ward, I hardly shot the rifle. It was downright unpleasant, loud, blew papers and debris up, further blinding and distracting me/people I was with. This linear comp changed the game.
@@OutsideTheTargetDemographic interesting, thank you!
I have been researching them and watching a bunch of video’s, but don’t always trust what I see on video’s because people are usually selling a product and aren’t really objective, lol.
Yeah, I had a muzzle brake on a short barreled 308 and it was absolutely brutal! I refuse to use one now, lol.
@@michaelnasser8697 I literally have a decibel meter arriving tomorrow, as accurate/precise as it may not be, but I do intend to do some testing, putting a pile of flour near the muzzle and firing both LCed and bird caged, and taking sound measurements. Stay tuned.
Short answer : yes, cheap eBay LC has worked so well it is on six of my firearms.
@@OutsideTheTargetDemographic outstanding, thank you and I look forward to it!
