    I've watched your video at least three times, maybe four. My machine is on the way, and thanks to you, I am now well versed on how it goes together. After 3 days of frustrating study on Carbide Create I was able to design two projects: a Christmas ornament and a foot stool. Can't wait to make some chips. Thanks Sam for the useful and entertaining information.

    Nice work, Sam. I can imagine how excited you were to finally get the machine, not to mention putting it together. Well thought out assembly video. This will be a go-to video for lots of folks, I'm sure.

    Thanks Sam. I used your video instead of Carbide's to assemble mine because you added just little bit more helpful information.
    I also squared the machine after step 2. I found it easier to do and maybe a little more precise by using a large l-square to sure up each side. If you try squaring after the end plates are on, then you can't use an L or T square and you're really just eyeballing it.

    Welcome to Shapeoko. I bought the XXL in July and love it. I learned really quickly that the wrench (I believe 22mm ) that comes with the router is no good. It bent the first time I used it. I bought a much better quality one online. It also took me about three days that there is a lock button on the router to help it in changing bits. My only issue so far is random disconnects from the cutter, which is do to electromagnetic interference. Carbides support is outstanding, they even replied back to me on Thanksgiving Day.

    Great video! I just ordered my Pro (upgrading from a 3). I loved my 3, but we had a bad thunderstorm and it got fried (part of the board went bad, some of the homing switches don't work, some of the motors went bad). I can get spare parts for it to fix (unfortunately, the controller board is on backorder), but I figure it's time to upgrade. I'm excited to get the Pro. Carbide3D has great products, so, I know i'm going to love it.... I love your hat by the way....

    Placing my order monday. Does the Pro XXL come with the BitZero V2 or do I need to purchase it? Any other accessories besides the clamps and "endmill starter kit" that you reccommend me buying? like the bit runner or bit setter? Thanks for the help, bud!

    • @Samcraftcom
      @Samcraftcom  2 роки тому

      Double check to make sure what I say is still correct -- in case they have changed it since I bought mine in December 2020... Mine came with the green clamps you see me use. I also has the BitSetter built in. I bought a BitZero separately (v1 was the only one available at that time, but v2 is much better). The BitRunner is awesome. I have a separate video on adding that to my machine and showing the setup. For bits, I would say get some cheap ones from Amazon to experiment with. Skyone CNC is also a good US-based affordable bit company, but I have no affiliations.

    Reason I ask is that I have a tight budget and I really want the new pro. I mean really bad.

    Can't believe I watched that entire video and didn't see it cut a thing, disappointed is mildly putting it. We didn't need another "how to put it together video", I'm mean how many other video's have we watched where the editing was a collection of days work.

      I somewhat agree. Carbide has a very detailed assembly video on this tool. Not sure the time filming and editing was spent well.

      Is there a good non-belt prosumer CNC in that price class? Don’t say Onefinity, because round guide bars are a joke.
