"Every girl" is not entirely correct. There are girls who'll be more interested the more you speak drone speak. Believe me - I'm one of them.

What does that mean? i said the same thing when i got on my sportsbike for the first and it was way more than 1,200 dollars and my life could be at risk as well. You gotta be confident why be nervous just because something is expensive you can always make more that's why people have jobs

I wish everyone would stop pushing the "beginner drone" narrative. This is way too expensive and fragile of a drone for a first time FPV pilots.
You would be surprised how many people are willing to spend a lot of money just to not be intimidated by technical complexity. See Apple products.
I agree, it is very expensive for a beginner drone, normal fpv quads can be fixed easier.
Yes I agree I’ve only started my fpv journey I’ve crash at least 7 times I can say if I tried to fly this it would be a waste of money and time getting it fixed it’s not fun for the money over €1,300 to me who has spend under €150 I’m having more fun learning about the mechanics of it

I fly real FPV drones and DJI camera drones and I gotta say is it really that expensive for what you get? The goggles are half the cost and you want those anyway if you're getting into FPV. A good 5" HD BNF with goggles, controller, charger, GoPro, and batteries is $1300 or more. I myself prefer more traditional FPV drones but I can see why certain people would want the more polished but limited package.

Wouldn't it be cool if the gimbal can be controlled by your GOGGLES? Tilt your head up to move the gimbal up and so on. Less controls to manage.
The gimbal's not supposed to move while you're flying in Acro mate. That's not something you'd want to happen.
Believe it or not. Mavic Pro + DJI Goggles (not DJI FPV Goggles) has that feature. Speaking of experience. Also it's where a DJI FPV gimbal controller gets the idea from. :)

A big part of why I started FPV is because of the look of an FPV drone, it looks rad, industrial, customizable, and the DJI looks horrible if i'm being honest xD

Ashley is an amazing pilot. But Drew is an amazing teacher too.
You can tell Ashley is a true pilot at heart because she went right for the trench run under the covered walkway.
I think it's good for the hobby overall, as it draws attention and probably brings new pilots in. But, I really don't understand who this thing is designed for. True Acro pilots are never going to fly it and it makes a terrible first time FPV drone. It's too expensive, not durable enough, and it can't be easily serviced. So... who is this thing for exactly?

They are making a service program for it where it self-diagnoses, and you get sent plug-and-play parts. As for durability, I think you're imagining a different kind of flying. People rarely break Mavics. Think cinewhoop, not freestyle. It's great for beginners, you can take out of the box and fly instantly, and get amazing footage. Learning traditional FPV takes aaaaaaages and lots of money and tears.
The "easily serviced" thing contains the implication that people are gonna buy tools and soldering iron and fix electronics...a way, way bigger market than the FPV hobby market will never, ever do this. This is a huge ask. Ain't nobody got time for that. People have kids and jobs. They just want to fly with the few free hours they get every week. It takes those hours just to twiddle with your wires. They are happy to spend money for the privilege, a couple grand is nothing for a cool hobby when you're a full-time adult. (Covering replacements and repairs, too). Compare to the expense of being into cars, for example.

Yes , yes , and yes. I had no idea about this fpv world, fall in love watching this videos. Got mi DJI as mi first drone ever , spend 15 hours in velocidrone and couple more in the built in sim. A week later I’m flying in acro mode … thx guys !!

She did awesome. Best review of the DJI drone I've seen so far. Mostly because you had someone fly it that does not fly drones at all. And she did better with it than I've seen anybody do with our normal fpv drones on their first day or week for that matter. Good job to the both of you.

Im never going to own one of those. A typical mini quad has a heck of a crap ton more acceleration than the DJI.
Safety at the expense of maneuverability. Its safer for a new pilot but over-bloated for someone whose already used to full acro mode. It definitely has its' place as a trainer drone and may even be good for spec racing in full manual mode... We'll see how popular this becomes. I think they should stick to the cinema side of things. They've done so well in that arena. If this were my drone, I'd be sending it back to Djisus after each session. (If you're not crashing sometimes, then you'll never imorove). Soldering can be practiced and learned in less than a week. You may as well learn to solder and build your own durable, light, easy to repair, less expensive and more powerful (real) drone.
Shame you didn't have one of the new single hand controllers for her to try. I'd have been very interested to see how she got on with that.
This drone is my entry into FPV. The time or patience required to build and tweak my own isn't something I'm interested in. Plug and play out of the box and learning on a unit that is... all I will know so I wont know any better... is perfect.

Good product but not for me. Instead of this jack of all trades - master of none I bought two drones, a FIMI X8SE for cinematic and a DIY freestyle drone (analog video, Crossfire). They have cost me less (especially in repairs) than the DJI FPV drone and perform better. Well, I also paid in time to learn a lot but that was a fun journey to me. I am not so optimistic about what kind of people the DJI drone will attract to the hobby. I suppose it will mostly be people who think paying a 4-digit number for an "FPV" product will automatically enable them to make videos like Johnny FPV while the drone takes care of not crashing. Also, 160$ for a battery? That's what I paid for my 10 CNHL lipos.
I've seen other videos which say this is for beginners or Mavic owners, but having Ashley fly it was genius. How many FPV guys are now thinking that maybe their wife/gf might like this? I know I thinking about my wife's current lack of interest and possibly changing that! Thanks
Definitely not a beginner drone with that repair downtime and price for repairs. You crash every couple minutes when learning full acro. But it definitely has its uses. And it's probably gonna cause even more regulations. Since more idiots will buy it and crash it into a plane or something stupid and just fpv in the name is gonna hurt us. We need to stay separated from the gps drone world. That's just my opinion every one has one.
I disliked this drone until I saw this video. Being able to teach someone is important and this makes it that much easier, especially for someone teaching themselves.
But honestly I would like to replace all the plastic with carbon fiber... would make it more crash friendly.. :D

Geofence will definitely ruin th experience. Places where I want to fly that I used to fly that were legal aren't accessible without jumping hoopswhere live.

I think it was a bad move on DJI's part, making the drone incompatible with the V1 Goggles. People like me just shelled out $800+ for the Goggles and two air units, can't even use our brand new $500 DJI Goggles with DJI's own "FPV" drone. It should've been reverse compatible from the start. I personally have no use for this thing, but I'm sure there are many people like me, who just purchased a brand new set of V1 Goggles and would like to try this thing out, but refuse to buy another set of expensive Goggles they don't need, just to fly a proprietary fpv drone. I've steered clear of all DJI products in the past because of the walled garden, locked down approach they take with their products, just like Apple, but I gave in when they introduced the Digital FPV system. Now I see they're also following in Apples footsteps again, by making their new products incompatible with their existing products. Unless it changes, I'll keep my V1 Goggles, and still fly my Vista's, Nebulae, and Air Units, but I will never buy any other DJi products outside of the Air Units. At this point, it wouldn't surprise me one bit, if they discontinued Air Units and sold just their version of an FPV drone. Probably not, but as I said, I wouldn't doubt it.

I think you nailed it with who this drone is for drew! I’ve flown Fpv for 5years now and I think I’d just smash it to bits if I had one, but if I was just starting Fpv it would be ideal. It’s nice to see Ashleigh in a video again, hope you both are well

I have a Mavic Pro. Bought a CrystalSky for dedicated flying but it has since had display problems. Always wanted the Mavic experience via goggles instead of the screen. The screen was never sufficiently bright and the viewer experience was never immersive enough.
This package brings that option now but I would never fly it in manual mode since the repairs after crashes would be financially unviable and time consuming.
Doesn't DJI already offer goggles for the Mavic ?
It's your money, do whatever you want, but you can crash it without flying in manual mode (Ashley just proved that... She didn't break it, but it will happen eventually).
If all you want is fly your Mavic in first person, I'd get the goggles designed for it (I think they're called the DJI Goggles)
@@triggermovies you are correct, DJI did provide ‘headgear’ for the Mavic. When you compare those to the current FPV goggles there is no comparison. The form-factor was dreadful, was not an option for me. Not sure how many people bought it but I didn’t see anybody using them. This new system KO’s both them and the Crystalsky. Was disappointed how the CS worked, the performance and mainly the durability. I have a nice paperweight now. 🙃

Thanks for the info. I fly Mavics professionally, and Whoops for fun. I have considered getting a cinewhoop (with DJI FPV) for a while, but now I am considering the DJI FPV Drone to capture those unique shots. How do you think the DJI stacks up to a good cinewhoop?

Just bought and collected mine yesterday here in Papua New Guinea! Will be playing in DJI Virtual Flight for a few days to really practice as much as possible... didn’t think it was so easy with just touch controls on iPhone... but it’s a fun app! :) Kinda nervous about that pro level M-mode!! Great video! 140km/hr is crazy!! Hope my wife will be as natural a pilot as Ashley, then she won’t be as pissed about me dropping $2100 AUD on it! :P

As far as the drone...meh....whatever...people are going to buy it, fly it...crash it...destroy it in one day, and decide this is way too expensive to get into. I actually wish the whole drones / FPV thing would vanish from youtube altogether. There wouldn't be any FAA hassle if people would stop flaunting it. It's like being into drag racing and then posting your street races. What do you think is going to happen!?

This is a better video than the one you guys did for Rotor Riot as this one is a little more realistic and down to earth. I appreciate the alternate look. One that's not quite so much a commercial. I won't be buying one, but that doesn't mean there isn't a market for such a quad. It'll be interesting to see what develops from this.
