To be fair, they kinda HAVE been doing this with the newer pokemon since Gen 6, but the older cries could definitely use an update. At the very least, Gen 1 and 2 pokemon should start using their stadium cries.
@@DinoJake The older cries did get an update. They've been adjusted and altered to sound like more realistic creatures if you compare gen 6 cries to gen 1 cries, while still sounding like fantaay creatures and keeping the tone of their original cry
I love how these sound halfway between kaiju roars and the in-game cries I wish Game Freak used this style of cries for gen 6+. Imagine how awesome Pokemon like Banette, Cresselia, or Kricketune would sound
I always found these cries kind of scary and I think that's because of just how realistic they sound and how much I was used to the original ones but I got to respect that they actually put effort into the cries of all things, they easily could have just reused the cries from the main games but they wanted to explore
Maybe they wanted to stay true to the mainline games' style for the cries. These ones in fact are more realistic and imo they accentuate less the uniqueness of the Pokémon
I only have used / encountered Hitmonlee in Pokemon Stadium. Fast Forward 22 years and im playing SwSh and am dismayed his official cry is not this lol.
They expanded the original cries, notice how they sound similar but more "animal". Also the fact they gave sounds to all 151 mons in GB cartridges was surprising.
Why have to give them the exact same 😢cry Vileplume and aerodactyl were different Uh like meowth/horsea Pidgey/snorlax? And poliwag-ditto maybe all sounded alike in gb
Aww, that time I first booted up the game and heard that Ninetales cry. And Jynx, that still makes me laugh when she's thrusting her lips at the screen.
Bruh, this right here, is part of my childhood right before me. Really hope they make a third game of Stadium and use the sfx from Stadium One and Two. GAME FREAK. LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE AND GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT!!!
0:12 charizard is so cool and iconic that he doesn’t need stock sound effects to sound real I spoke too soon, all three squirtle lines did the same thing as charizard XD
I don't know if it's ever been confirmed or touched on by the devs, but these are so close in terms of timing and tone that I'm convinced that these are the original sounds for the first games that were heavily compressed to gameboy standards, Nintendo used stock sound effects liberally back then so it's not so farfetch'd (I hated that pun as much as you)
Masuda has said on multiple occasions that he made the sounds from scratch on the GB. Bulbasaur was the first cry he ever made and the one he was most proud of because he thought it felt the most animal-like at the time.
@@kanpaifighto Even if the sounds were made from scratch on the GB, there's a possibility that they might have used these realistic cries as the original blueprint/inspiration. Light Fox 101 Yellow came later, while Gold and Silver were already being developed. It borrowed the voice code from Pokémon Pinball, which also came much later. While not all of these were perfect (the Eeveelutions in particular could have used a little more work) they were certainly much better than the bitcrushed audio remakes GameFreak introduced in gen 6. Especially Haunter’s...
I love these because they take the melodies of the original cries yet still sound like animals you would find in nature

I wish Game Freak used this style of cries for gen 6+. Imagine how awesome Pokemon like Banette, Cresselia, or Kricketune would sound
Fair but I'd rather they leave cricketune specifically alone, it's iconic
Except for the ones Raichu, and the birds who just sound completely different
I was genuinely frightened when the big ones like Golem Gyarados or nidoking came out in stadium haha beautiful

vulpix and ninetales are THE BEST cries, it's so beautiful :')
Charizard's cry is amazing. I love how it is the original cry but with a dragon effect.
Haunter and Hypno are so creepy it’s criminal they haven’t been reused.
Hitmonlee’s is stuck in my head since the first time I heard it

These sounds are awesome. The Pokemon actually sound like monsters.
There’s a background cry during Kingler’s

Kingler couldn't get that Raticate to shut up, btw.
As a kid I always liked Hitmonlee's stadium cry instead of his cry in the actual games.. and i still like it idk why
I'm certain this game is the reason Haunter is my favorite Pokemon.
