10:30 What is there to do? Well, i suggest you figure that out by playing with people lol. My Org will be doing "Persistent Polaris" events, we used to do them with the Carrack and will be replacing it with this ship. Basically, you keep the ship running as long as possible, as many days as possible. You cycle through the available missions in the game. Send ppl on away missions while the main ship goes and does other stuff. Overtime, the ship starts to build a lot of character with all the stuff that accumulates inside the ship. We do our own repairs and own refueling if possible, avoiding using the stations. It's a lot of fun
9:05. The mirror is not reflecting, it's almost like it's projecting your position in the room on that screen. If you move left, the object in the mirror move right (from our perspective). It's a really good attempt, but it's not a mirror.
The Polaris should be as refined as the Starlancer. But, compared to the Starlancer, the Polaris interior looks unfinished. The Polaris appears like it was rushed out. The habitation rooms look unfinished. Gaps exist between the floor and walls and you can see outside of the ship. What happened to the original, amazing Mess Hall, windows, and pool table? Outside... it's completely AMAZING!!!
The "mirror" has to be a video selfie screen since the image is reversed. Door and wall are not on correct side to be a reflection. Glad to see you noticed and thought to point out the camera lens.
Although I agree that the F8C lightning would definitely be a main choice for hanger. I think it would be better to have a few furys as snub fighters. But thank you for that info.
When you ask "what is there to do?" I always see it like this: there is a big player base that loves sims. Be it Flight Simulator, Truck Sim, Law Mawn Sim, etc. And then there is RP people. I bet it will be no problem at all to have 4-6 people who enjoy the "routine" of a big space ship just as much as the owner does. But yeah, big combat will probably be rare and very expensive.
I think when they can flesh out scanning gameplay, communications and navigation, then the roles of the bridge crew will be more in depth. It would be cool to have every seat fulfill an essential role. Engineering and maintenance will be fun too. But yes i would like to see them do something with the on board system's of ships so that bridge crew arent just glorified passengers. This ship is the tits though design wise and its functionality will be very useful for multiple excursions and many types of gameplay
Definitely a really big ship. Gonna be very interesting how Test Squad will be using this ship. I have one, so ill definitely be looking for some of our Test Squad members to come aboard and exploring for themselves
the lack of things to do on multcrew ships is my biggest issue. Was hoping there'll be npc crew to delegate more boring tasks and for players to only jump on exciting things so you run these with 3 players and npcs instead of 12 players. I guess we'll find out at some point if there'll be enough to do or more engaging to bring 12 single seaters
Thanks mate... We done need player control cap ships and so much complexity... if the game is work its not fun! I been a fan of SC for 11 years, "invested" thousands, went to CitCon in LA, know many (previous) execs and got a tour of the LA studio back then by Erin R. Its tragic they could or have not "simplifed" the game a little, put out a game, and then build on that. I consult as as medical engineer and learned a while ago when working with engineers of nay type generally, they like to be in a constant state of "improvement" and "optimization" to never put our a marketable product. Chris needs to get out of the way, hire a real CEO, COO, and CTO to put out a "product" like SQ42 before its too late... aka BK as I know a lot like me stopped "investing" years ago.
Yea now the biggest enemy will be fire and potentially your comrades not acting quick enough... I can't imagine losing months of loot to a fire that killed everyone on board xD
I like my free to star max to max update, but come on cig , it's the most up to date ship build and has no emissive headlight just emitter shining out of nothing, it would add to visual flair to have them 🙂 just do it, no holidays
the mirror annoys me since its opposite of a "normal" mirror. just feels disorientating when moving left moves the mirror image right. hopefully should be an easy fix with just flipping the texture 180degrees or enabling funnily enough a mirror option for left and right.
players don't get it CIG had to build the ship for other big RSI ships be Developed. There won't be any game content till Pyro and even then still won't be very much.
Thanks for the video - don't like the ship. Wasted space and doors should have descriptions. EVERYTHING in the military is marked and labeled (even the people). Just row of doors you either know by heart or open open open till you get the right one. Crew members not familiar with the ship should be able to figure out location and exits easily, esp if in battle with a fire raging. Writing "Galley" or "Barracks" or flipping "MEDICAL" on an entry door is pretty basic IMHO.
What will crew do when there isn't much action going on? I suspect they'll do what most servicemembers do when they're minding a panel and nothing is happening... They'll mind their panel, and shoot the shit. I hope CIG doesn't make every journey a litany of emergencies just to make gameplay for crew every second.
its a bit of a let down when the elevator buttons do not work and you need to use the terrible inner though system instead. still waiting for my Hercules to be fixed. you always send the elevator to the wrong floor. terrible system all round.
Is it just me, or does anyone else really dislike the cargo bay doors? They just don't fit the ship, their like 100 ft long and the door is wide and narrow. In this case, maybe a lowering cargo bay would make sense for lore, looks, and function.
You did not even show off the cargo bay, the torpedo room, and the forward large cannons. There was much more to the ship.
the brig...
Yea he got side tracked lol
Yeah there was a lot of areas I did not even explore! The ship is massive!

This is cool
Before he said “What is there to do”. He talked about going out with friends and whatnot doing multicrew :/

Do UA-camrs get access to all the new ships? Seems like you guys have everything lol
F8c fits very well in the hanger.
That’s awesome to know since my main game loops are cargo and bounty hunting!
Although I agree that the F8C lightning would definitely be a main choice for hanger. I think it would be better to have a few furys as snub fighters. But thank you for that info.

u missed the entire second Floor Montoya
I found the cargo level later!
Definitely a really big ship. Gonna be very interesting how Test Squad will be using this ship.

The exterior details helps makes the ship convey it's size properly. Really sets a new standard.
The hangar can fit a Crusader ION or INFERNO !

That is what I have said that game play ship consoles should have to keep a player engaged for game play, not just been a spectator.
what's up with the captains quarters being locked?
I agree with your concerns with multiplayer
I find it odd that there would be an ingress point directly to the bridge on a fighting ship. Amazing milestone in SC moments!
Hail the great Montoya!
Yea now the biggest enemy will be fire and potentially your comrades not acting quick enough... I can't imagine losing months of loot to a fire that killed everyone on board xD
5:38 that's my reaction when I see dumps like a truck
Captains Quarters out of Bounds
You can ponder your radar orb from the captains seat.
I like my free to star max to max update, but come on cig , it's the most up to date ship build and has no emissive headlight just emitter shining out of nothing, it would add to visual flair to have them 🙂 just do it, no holidays
I'm getting Duke Nukem vibes from that mirror tech.
the mirror annoys me since its opposite of a "normal" mirror. just feels disorientating when moving left moves the mirror image right. hopefully should be an easy fix with just flipping the texture 180degrees or enabling funnily enough a mirror option for left and right.
Spoiler: Starlancer Mirror does not work, as per usual for MOST ships in the 'Verse

Gib Mah Polaris! Let's Go!! !
Thanks for the review!!

Where is the pool table?
How are people seeing this in game?
crew gameplay will be either really exciting or extremely boring. I feel like there won't be much inbetween unless CIG delivers something unexpected
Try the captains seat with ingame voice. You know. Just tell the guys what to do.

Come release CIG can make a lot of $ just selling furniture and nik naks for ships and hangers instead of just selling ships.

I'm not the boss dude myself but pee got instantly to my head when I sat there.
o7, thanks for review
very amazing ship
You missed the Brig
"I would have figure it out by myself"... yeah yeah :D we know you wouldn't
Facts. I would be walking around for an hour trying to find a way in.

It hurts, but we must remember the pain!

its so you can drive on/off vehicles . its actualyl one of my favorite parts. and will give it versatility as a mobile command base for fps missions.
