- A beautiful lake in Western Victoria Australia near the Grampians National Park. A little adventure in my DIY caravan and Truekit Discovery 400 boat. I also run through how I set up, kit out and pack down the Truekit.
Haven’t seen the 20 part caravan build series? Check it out in the channel!

Great review. Thanks
The dozen redfin, and the 5 huge brown trout you didn't catch saved you a ton of fish cleaning.
Nice location, thanks for letting us know.
I know right!
Hey mate, Just a quick tip when folding down the TrueKit. It's actually easier to fold the boat as you deflate it - instead of waiting 10 minutes as you said. What I mean by that is, once you release the pressure start to fold over the pontoon and get it into that position you eventually got it in where the black rubber scuff strip is facing upwards. By doing it this way with air still in the chambers it's a lot easier to manipulate the fold. It's very hard to demonstrate without actually showing you as there are many other small tips and tricks - but that's the main thing you are doing that's making your life harder when folding it down.
I'll suggest a "Folding your TrueKit - Tips and Tricks" video to the team at Truekit, I'm sure it'll help a lot of people out!
Ahh that’s a good tip, thanks.
😂😂😂 like your magic wand
Wish i had it when i was building the caravan!
I can relate to the difficulty you're packing away the boat I have the same problem, I have the same luck when using lures, that Why I use livebait or bait. Great video
Yep i switch to bait in the next vid and do alright!
Going to lake fyans next week. I'll let you know how I go 👍
Much better for the reddy’s i hear
with a 4 stroke can use a 20hp
Open bow is a terrible design for fishing. As soon as swells start hitting you, you will feel every wave that comes unto you. Also this boat has 1-2 chambers? which means, any shark attack, or reef puncturing your main chamber, your boat will go under. For any inflatable boat, especially ocean worthy, you need at least 3-4 chambers to begin with.
It has 4 chambers. Plenty of folks taking these offshore. Not sure I’d enjoy a friendly shark.
I'm somewhat surprised that a boarding ladder is needed. A big consideration to getting a trukit (for me) is the "ramp" entrance on the bow. So not that easy to board from the water off the bow?
My shoulder is a bit dodgey, in deep water it can take a bit, but doable. It’s more cheap insurance if you injured yourself or are stuffed from a long swim really
@@PerpetualTransient I can totally relate as I have a dodgy shoulder as well. And I'm 64 ( not bad shape but...) and then there is the wife who is like a fish as a swimmer but gets stuffed from a long swim too. Thanks for the reply!
How heavy is you caravan empty?
1500kg
Take woody out in boat
He hates it! Won’t even walk on a floating pontoon jetty. I tried to encourage him slowly on this trip but no good.
@@PerpetualTransient my dog loves the boat
