THIS SHARPENING SYSTEM IS SO GOOD! - Tormek T8

I have recently purchased a Tormek T8 and wanted to share my set up and first time using it. The sharpening system has turned my very blunt chisels into razor sharp ones and I love how easy the process is. Since recording this video I have used the Tormek a fair bit and would highly recommend it to anyone considering buying one.

What angle does everyone sharpen their chisels? I have done them at 25 degrees previously but was told that 22.5 is a better angle. What would you all suggest? Thank you

It depends on what you are working with. 25 then a second bevel of 30 will be fine for hardwoods. 22.5 would be more useful for softwoods.

Sampson boat co did a video on chisel sharpening and angles. Depends on your use case. A lot of them used a primary angle of 30 degrees with a tiny microbevel. Worth a watch.
