For people who don't have it...We have trouble with short term memory retention and recalling information due to our brains not having enough dopamine to sustain focus. E5 here and yes, that poor memory retention definitely hurts how leadership can view you. Never forget, just do your best to accomplish your tasks and take care of your soldiers. The Army views most things as excuses, so don't take failures too personally.
I have ADHD, didn’t know it until after I joined the army. I take medication for it and I’m still fully deployable. A month after I got prescribed medication, I went to BLC and got promoted to SGT. It is difficult for me sometimes but as long and you keep pushing forward and making progress you can succeed. Stay motivated and hunt the good stuff 🤘🏼
Seriously?! I think it's a requirement. In a radically changing threat environment with a technological revolution ADHD and outside the box thinking, ADHD leads the way. Ways to cope We aren't good with details so basic training is to teach you how to pay attention to details. Short class breaks. Designated mandatory meal times. They tell everyone they suck. Take notes. Ask for help, but you got to study! BE MOTIVATED!!! Boards are to see you squirm under pressure. At one time every member of the military from E1 to O10 was at MEPS bent over spreading their cheaks with a creapy individual looking at their bum hole.
I got diagnosed while active duty back around 13 years in and when I got the diagnosis looking back at my life and my career, everything made sense. Fortunately, I was able to get medication and therapy that I still do. Somethings you mentioned in here about us ADHDers like the really sensitive, I think this is a good characteristic to have when it comes to empathy for our peers, troops and leadership especially as a leader in the military. Anyways, I don’t know you but I am proud to serve with you. For anybody else that reads this that has ADHD or really going through any depression/anxiety etc etc, take care of yourself and your mind as best you can. If you’re active duty, go to the doc and get seen, therapy etc etc. Utilize the resources we have to take care of yourself. One day you’re going to have to take that uniform off and you want to be mentally ready to do it.
Recently I started noticing symptoms of ADHD in my life. Then I dove into research for it and I’m doing everything I can to be put on meds. There’s absolutely no reason for me to have to struggle more everyday just to do the same crap that everyone else is.
I feel you 100% I workout to cope with it but it doesn’t help as much as medication! Once I get out I’m getting back on them! Life is pretty much chaos without it lol
@@CARSONENGLAND1995 I have ADHD and served for 7 years. Active Duty/National Guard. Yes medication helps immensely after ETS but I will be brutally honest in that if you wish to pursue an PMC Career or Armed Security Career fields, one cannot be on any ADHD medication. ZERO medication coupled with zero PTSD diagnosis. However, outside of those career fields, I would totally take medications.
Man's a role model for responding to every comment, you really do feel alone at times with adhd n imposter syndrome and jus like basic everyday struggles like that, it sucks sometimes
I was diagnosed with adhd when I was in high school. The due date of work, subjects, keeping up with grades, all of that was too much. And what you say you went through is what I go through honestly. All of that is me I don’t mean to be like this. I’ve never took prescription for adhd but I think I’m gonna have to. You give me hope. I want to become a marine and I won’t let adhd get in the way of my dreams. Thank you for your service!
Just FYI, keep in mind you have to be off ADHD meds for X years before you can get into the military, typically. At least that's what the recruiter told me (I have not enlisted yet).
It sucks for ADHD people in many aspects of life in general. Whether it be at school or with relationships. You get treated like you're trying to get special treatment and like you're manipulative, or like you don't take anything seriously, which leaves people feeling like you don't care. Its really tough at times.
So I was never diagnosed with ADHD when I was a kid. Always thought I had it but never got it diagnosed...fast forward to now. I have been in the Navy for over 6 years now, I had been having issues with concentration and many other things and decided to speak to Behavioral Health. They are great! I have been now diagnosed with ADHD and have medication that hopefully will help me live a "normal" life.
Nice man Im glad you did what was right for you! I made an appointment with behavioral health on the 16 hopefully they are better then my last duty station
It’s all about how determine you are despite the odds anything is possible if you put your mind to it and put in the work, the military says that people with ADHD cannot serve but yet there are a lot of military members that are very successful and high-ranking so that shows that ADHD should not be a a disqualifier no matter what peoples mental diagnosis is the military can change their life and strengthen them mentally and physically. There are a lot of people that want to serve but can’t because of the medical screening I think the medical part of Mabs should be re-evaluating and written different rules because I bet if they diagnosed everybody with ADHD and etc. mental disorders there wouldn’t be a military at all but you got this brother keep pushing forward you’ve made it this far keep going to your highest potential and let nobody stop you from reaching the top of the mountain. You got this
Lol its crazy when you think you're the only one going through something and find out your never really alone . I'm in the AF which isn't as tough as the army but your experience sounds a lot like mine. My MTI always thought I was up to no good and accused me of misbehaving since I had a hard time understanding, he always picked me out the bunch and would pick on me the most. My saving grace like yours was PT, only time of the day I could relax and focus on myself and not have to worry about the MTI's as much. Tech school I had the same problems, I ended up getting reclassed and it was a messy transition. Meeting with the commander sucked, and initially when I failed the course they told me that they were going to separate me and suggested that I didn't belong in the AF. I'm at my first duty station now and been here for over 6 months. All the stuff the lead me here was hard but it taught me a lot about myself and my mind, and looking back I can honestly say I'm glad I went through it.
Yeah I’ve noticed being in the military you always seem like the dumb one and it sucks but as long as you keep pushing everything is going to be alright you are just going to feel lost af lol! Don’t give up though man you feel more proud for yourself and screw the people that look down on you they don’t know what you are struggling with!
Bro, I'm a Captain in the 82nd Airborne. I've never been diagnosed but I'm 99% sure I have it. It's a liability in a lot of ways but can also be an asset in some. It can definitely be a struggle. Props to you for serving and making this video. You're the man! Keep fighting the good fight!
I have no intetion of joining the military at all. I have adhd. I have been taken meds since i was 6 or 7. A very long time. I recently took flight lessons and i was told i cannot take medications of any kind. This messed me up mentally and psychologically. I was really sad. I liked flying. However, it did make me question my future living with adhd and medication. i dont want to take meds for the rest of my life. i am 28 and i have a life ahead of me. But with the career path I have chosen in tech, they are necessary. It’s the sad truth
I feel like we would be good friends because I deal with the same issues! Sometimes it’s nice to stay young at heart though it’s okay if you’re a goofball sometimes. I know you said you want to limit it so you can be a sergeant and lead others (which I saw you did in your other video!) As long as you’re comfortable with who you are and you genuinely believe what you are doing and saying aligns with your core beliefs - you’re doing everything just fine. I know other people may handle it differently being sergeant but you don’t need to be a cookie cutter version of everyone else. It’s nice you acknowledge what you want to work on and I admire your persistence. After covid I think things got a lot harder for everyone in terms of presenting or public speaking. I had to do a visual presentation for me to promote and I practiced so many times getting the visual presentation perfect that I neglected what I would say verbally. So when I was presenting in front of 20 people my hands were visibly shaking and people weren’t trying to make eye contact with me whenever I would look at them so ‘I could feel more comfortable’. I dropped sugar all over my counter haha. Anyways the point is - shaking legs or shaking hands is the step to the right direction because it shows that you care enough AND have the courage to do what scares you the most. I’m sure you are a very courageous sergeant congrats again :)
You are fantastic and you really have said so many things that we do feel and go thru. We are so smart but we need to be challenged and always learning to keep from being bored. You’ve done amazing and you should very proud of yourself.
Hearing your story is sort of comforting tbh as always being curious as to why I always thought the way I did and being hazed because of it really put a tare in me. Being in the Marines as an infantryman and being undiagnosed with adhd was terrible man.
Your a good soldier! I hope you did pass the council! Just be confident and don't beat yourself up! Do your best, keep your head high, and keep studying!. I have ADHD too, and it wasn't as bad as what I experienced. I was scared to death at AIT too, but passed all my test the first time. A great way to study is to review your notes from each class each day. So you start from the first day of notes then review up to that day. You do that and your good to go!
I'am currently working on joining the navy! I deal with ADHD, and I 'am afraid of failing basic training, and schooling. this definitely helps a lot with seeing some one who is ADHD, and is currently serving, getting out the details of what it is like. BTW thank you for your service.
Man give it a shot never know what’s going to happen so go ahead and try it! Having adhd will make you have struggles no doubt but guess what we get to bring all kind of crazy stories with our journeys which makes us more interesting haha
I’m in the same boat I take meds for it but I want to serve I always love by the quote “it’s better to have tried and failed than never to have tried at all” and I’m looking at the navy too hopefully we see each other at basic. We can get each-other in trouble lol
@@tannerc.390 you will be fully disqualified for military service at MEPS since you take medication. Get off the medications and pray that project genesis doesn’t immediately shut down your dreams.
@@TheInfantry98 I appreciate the reply after doing research I saw that somewhere. A few months after my OG comment I got off them pretty soon it will be my year off meds and I can start the enlistment process! Wish me luck!
I would strongly recomend you try. dont listen to your fears telling you no, because like they said, if you try and fail at least you know but most likely you won't fail its just your mind messing with you. Its not a good habit to get into, giving into your fear. Don't wait too long to choose your path in life.... also you might have adhd or certain roadblocks but consider what other assets you might have like the dude in the video said he was good at pt. I've got really bad eyesight i wear contacts but cant drive and feel like they've been getting worse over the years to where I'm afraid to try and get a job or go to school cause i am afraid i cant see the board even if i sit in the front of the class...honestly i dream about it every night lol. now i'm stuck homeless addicted to fentanyl ....lifes a bitch.... take my advice just go and do it!
Thank you for sharing your experience! Everything you've said is shit I'm so hyper worried about that I was having second thoughts. But you've shown that you can power through it (even if it is hellish). You've encouraged me to bite the bullet and enlist into the navy, currently on delayed entry. Thanks!
I'm diagnosed with General/Social Anxiety, OCD, Asperger's, Muscular Tourette's Syndrome, and minor Depression. I take Zoloft, Guanfacine, and Abilify for it all. I wish I could join the Military, even just as part-time Army NatGuard. I'd join as a 68W E-4 being that I'm already an EMT-B. Sucks, why was I born like this? It stops me from joining or doing things I'd love to do. I wanna help people and get the training to become a TEMS one day.
My ADHD and ASD destroyed me in the 35M program. I wanted to go combat arms but I tested high enough on the ASVAB that they didn’t wanna hear any of that. So off to AZ I went. I ended up under the command of somebody who had a son (or relative) with Autism that eventually sat me down and was like, “So what do we wanna do?” I’m thinking like, “This is it. He’s gonna tell me to figure something out or he’s gonna start filling out separation paperwork and I’m screwed.” To this day I still can’t believe what he did. He was like, “This MOS is not gonna work for you. You know this, I know this, but the computer and your instructors don’t fully understand why. I can’t just let you pick whatever MOS from a list. I can reclass you but it’s gonna based on the computer not what you want, OR we can chapter you.” That last part got me I was like, “I think I’d rather just try and finish this out then.” He then explained that I’d be leaving under Honorable conditions and would be able to try and reenlist as something else, or just live my best life. I told him that as much as I feel it would be the right thing to do to reenlist and give the army some more time, if I got home with nobody to answer to and a free man I wouldn’t set foot on a military installation again. He was like, “It’s up yo you. There’s no punishment either way, but this paperwork is most likely gonna start this afternoon.” He sent me back to my unit and told me to just program and stay out of trouble (not that I ever got any, as I never was allowed to leave post). I figured I’d be a holdover for the rest of the year. 2 weeks later I was home with a DD214 that said “honorable.” I’ve never claimed, nor will I claim any veteran benefits. I don’t know if I’m legally entitled to them, but I certainly don’t feel like I did anything to deserve them.
I got the 80HD as well. I remember watching a youtube video by andrew huberman showing how adhd people have a slightly different circadian rhythm, and how aligning to the proper sleep cycle can help improve adhd symptoms. I tried it out and it helps a lot!
I have ADHD & strongly thinking about joining the AF. I’m so happy I stumbled across this video to have an actual insight of what it’s like. This is my biggest fear. Not being able to excel in AIT and all the schooling with ADHD and without any medication
Thanks for sharing man. I’m experiencing the same thing with EMT school. I’m really good at the skills and working under pressure but the test are brutal. I understand the concepts but I’m a terrible tester. It’s funny how we are some of the best people for these types of high pressure jobs but on paper we can look like a liability.
It definitely sucks for sure it’s like I know this job kind the back of my hand but can’t pass these damn test tf😂 it’s like our brain just flushes it down
I'm planning, studying and preparing my physical and mental to be fit in the Military. But I had a feeling that I have ADHD by doing research. Focusing at something is one of the challenging thing to me. It's been 2 months I always fail by testing myself to be consistent of reviewing, exercise. meditate. But my mind is not cooperating. I hope I can cope up with this. It's hard but I will refuse to give up. Kudos to you sir for sharing your experience.
That’s the spirit man if you fall just get back up and try again it’s frustrating as hell but it’s better then giving up! You’ll feel a lot better that way 💪
Bruh I feel ya I went to Paris island in 98 and it was hell…I was constantly smokes for fucking up simple tasks…luckily only thing I had going was high energy and did good at anything pt related..they definitely played games with me lol
Oh and I was air wing as well…I “rocked” two times when at school at Pensacola…somehow though at cherry point for my individualized training I would do great and her highest score on the paper tests but hands on I sucked
You essentially just described me to a danm T, its like being punched in the face for just being yourself. And i dont mean it in a let me be me way i mean it in the im actively working on it and always am but its just never enough. Thank you man for sharing your experience to as its just nice knowing its not just me
Thank you for this video. My identical twin brother received adderall while in the Marines and now the VA. I recently started adderall. Wish I would have gotten it as a kid. I finally understand myself.
Only recently have I realized how my ADD is such a part of me and that so much in my life was harder because of it. I struggled but made it through high school and college and did well (hard through) without knowing I was even ADHD and now I’m much older and understand it but I’m really wanting to join the air national guard… but I’m worried as will prevent me from even entering, or to do as you did in basic. I’m also a 36 year old female. I’ve always wanted this but just worried it’ll prevent me .
Go for it I think you got like till you are 37 to Join I could be wrong though! Go officer route since you got your degree they don’t deal with a lot of bs and you get payed way better! I wish you luck on your journey
It’s all good man just got to keep going no matter what life doesn’t stop for anyone but it’s good to let people know they are not alone! Thanks for the support man!
Man I feel you on that like I learned my job so quick and was focused on it for so long but now all of my motivation is gone and I’m a leader but I don’t have no motivation to lead! That’s why I’m getting out but I’m still indecisive but if I do stay in I’m definitely reclassing! In the military though you have to do everything right but people with adhd are almost always lost in the sauce and it’s sad when I can see people that do have adhd but they don’t know they have it so they think they are really stupid because everyone treats them like they are
I've tried my hand at leadership a few times, it can get easier, however, speaking for myself I'm absent minded which makes me tough to take seriously. The militaries brand of leadership is mostly do what your told cause very strict laws will come down if you don't. Yes, being treated like a retard does a job on your confidence, I was goldfish for a few months before being discharged, they were none too light hearted about it I might add.
@@zomalfa4363 Yeah man the military thinks anyone can be a leader but that’s not true some people just don’t want to be a leader and they look down on you when you are not cut out for it it’s pretty dumb lol
They're very simple in their view of leadership. It's more being a boss in the military then it is a leader. Very rarely do you lead anything. If you have knowledge in a particular subject then it's easier to be a leader. I couldn't lead a crew to restore a historic building because it's not something I know anything about. I think if I had to lead in the military I would just try and level with people, like this is the job were doing, this is what's expected, so we wanna get this done with a minimum of drama and maybe go have some fun.
I’m 24 with adhd but I haven’t taken any med since my high school years and the recruiter I talked to yesterday said that that they changed the adhd tule saying that if you haven’t taken any prescribed meds in the last 2 years then it’s no problem for you to join
I’m a little worried about this too. I just finished college, and I’ve been thinking about joining the Air Force. I figured now would be the time to try since I’m 25. Chill86’s description of ADD is exactly how it is for me. I’m worried that if I try joining, they’ll find out I have ADD and I won’t be able to become an MA. My fear is not being able to do that and having to do something that I don’t want to do after signing my name. My father was an MA in the Navy, I would like to experience what he experienced in his career. I’m not sure if I’m cut out for the military though, regardless of my ADD. I appreciate this video.
Air Force really takes care of their guys don’t let add hold you back because then you are going to regret it growing up not doing what you wanted to do!
Btw, I used to be on medicine. Adderall may help but It can do a number on your health. I experienced appetite loss and weight loss. I went from 130-140 something to about 113 pounds. I don’t know if taking the medicine would be helpful taking years on end.
I’m shipping to basic in august. I have very bad adhd, the inattentive type. I’m good at pushing myself physically but I’m an idiot and I forget things.
Man just be prepared to be lost in the sauce and your battle buddies thinking you are dumb but even though it’s tough just believe in yourself if that’s you in your photo you look like you are in shape you can be a pt stud and you will get promoted in basic and shut them all up! When you pass ait having adhd will make you learn your job way quicker but you’ll lose motivation super fast
@@Scriptbykai for me when i went to meps they didn’t ask me if i had adhd and I didn’t tell them i did, but i did get a drug test soooo, don’t be on your meds for a while.
Hey man thanks for the video, I'm currently in the AF and thinking I may have ADHD but I'm fearful to go to mental health for it. I've done several online screenings and all recommend seeing a Dr. Any tips? Don't want to be discharged but I need to know. Not to mention the flightline has been pure hell lately making less than damn minimum wage in the shittiest conditions, morale is lower than I've ever seen.
You know what I just did I went and bought this stuff called eventa something like that it’s like a natural Adderall doesn’t give you the complete package of adderall but it works for me it’s like 40 bucks for 60 pills! Going to behavioral health in the military isn’t really the best but you do what you think is best for you! And keep your head up man even though the military will completely you drain you with the toxicity it brings I know I’m getting out after these two years are up for me

The only way you can serve with ADHD is if you lied at MEPS and checked no when asked if you had any mental issues, so for you England, and everyone who says they're in the military with ADHD, they lied to get in. I worked at MEPS for five years, that's an automatic DQ, same with Asthma.
Are waivers available for adhd in the airforce? It’s something I’m really worried about because I’ve been wanting to join my entire life, but am not sure if I’ll get a waiver approved…
@@CARSONENGLAND1995 yeah I’ve gotten very mixed answers the past year but talked to a recruiter and they said 2 years off medication is qualifying. That was a few months ago and now the policies apparently changed to 15 months so if any body’s wondering, if you are 15 months off of medication and have the documents to prove so then you are qualified!!
I wasn’t eligible because I take adhd meds but if I would have stopped and endangered my life with my adhd symptoms I would have been okay. Makes No sense why they don’t let medicated people in but make life of these guys hell who really should be on medication
On the real you can’t take adhd meds but yes please drink yourself to death 😅😂 a lot of issues in the military involve alcohol! But that will never change because alcohol is a huge culture in the military!
The Air Force has a policy that says if you stay off of your meds for 15 months, they'll mark it as you being able to stay off of the medication and show you're not addicted.
A LOT of military members have ADD/ADHD. Sadly, in Navy aviation and with certain rates/MOS/jobs, you can’t get diagnosed or treated IN military medical because it puts you in a medical down status. This needs to change!! I’ll also add you can’t take the meds. So you are forced to find natural remedies and such for your ADD and anxiety.

Seriously?! I think it's a requirement. In a radically changing threat environment with a technological revolution ADHD and outside the box thinking, ADHD leads the way.
Ways to cope
We aren't good with details so basic training is to teach you how to pay attention to details.
How are you now brother
It definitely does man especially when you lose motivation in things!
That’s awesome to know that this video can relate! Will do and you do the same as well!
Do some sort of exercise in the morning to help you calm you down and focus a little better
I appreciate the detail and sincerity of this. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for this video!! I am ADHD, I was told you can be denied from enlisting. I really needed this video!
Just don’t be on meds and you will be good! The journey will be tough but think of it as a challenge
As a future military soldier on a few years on Portugal,ADHD is the best thing on my life❤🤗
You are fantastic and you really have said so many things that we do feel and go thru.
I couldn’t imagine man! Marines are a different breed

Sorry for the typos, I sent this from my phone.
If you are good at school you should be completely fine! I always struggled some people with adhd are really good at school
I applied for the army as a cook everything was hands on and i thank god that i never failed any class and only got average grades. 🙏
I seriously doubt that you have an chance of serving your country due to having ADHD

Go for it I think you got like till you are 37 to
Join I could be wrong though! Go officer route since you got your degree they don’t deal with a lot of bs and you get payed way better! I wish you luck on your journey
It won’t prevent you from joining just don’t say anything about it
Sorry you had to go through that. Keep up the good work.
It’s all good man just got to keep going no matter what life doesn’t stop for anyone but it’s good to let people know they are not alone! Thanks for the support man!
I don't wanna join up, but I just had to know what it was like for someone like me. Thanks for talking about this and opening up
Yeah man, I was in the Airforce and literally, I couldn't do a thing right, it was horrible. I still cringe thinking about it all.
How are they going to know if you haven’t taken any in two years though?
@@CARSONENGLAND1995 I have no clue, he assuring me that I’d be able to get in
I’m a little worried about this too.
I fear of constantly screwing up in boot camp or in the field because of misinterpreting directions 😅.
@@dykronica Yeah that’s what I’m afraid of that weight loss

You know what I just did I went and bought this stuff called eventa something like that it’s like a natural Adderall doesn’t give you the complete package of adderall but it works for me it’s like 40 bucks for 60 pills! No not at all you can be a pog and just stay in the in office
So relatable
A LOT of military members have ADD/ADHD. Sadly, in Navy aviation and with certain rates/MOS/jobs, you can’t get diagnosed or treated IN military medical because it puts you in a medical down status. This needs to change!!
I’ll also add you can’t take the meds. So you are forced to find natural remedies and such for your ADD and anxiety.
It definitely does need to change
Yes it does need to change
Did you make it that friday?
How would the Military react if I was misdiagnosed with ADHD?
As long as you are not taking medication you are good to go
@@CARSONENGLAND1995 Thanks dude, cool watches buy the way.
@@average2savage1 Thank you very much!
@@CARSONENGLAND1995 You're welcome.
Sad cause I wanted to be in the Royal Navy but in the UK u can’t be in the armed forces w adhd cause they think ur mad and will just shoot ur commanding officer
That’s weird lol!
I don’t think that’s a true statement about adhd and the army in the uk. I believe you have to be off of meds for 3 years.
Question: will mood pills (not adhd meds) still get you disqualified?
No
@@CARSONENGLAND1995 whoa whoa wait, as long that mood pill is not an adhd med it won’t get you disqualified!?!?!? OMG YES THX FOR TELLING ME
hey man i have adhd and have been interested in the military for years is it hard to even get in the military? what do I need to join
It’s not hard at all! If you are in shape and don’t have any medical problems you are good to go
Brother! You had me at the “ Editing “……..I am newly Retired Canadian Vet and ADHD affected me and my career. (Like you, I’m trying to use You Tube to put my perspective on the issue…but EDITING. Why does that feel so impossible?) People never understand how rough it inside your head when the team suffers because of you.
I won’t lie. It’s hard hearing this story you’re telling…it’s so familiar. But It feels so good to hear someone else tell the same story I am.
Yeah editing just seems so fake to me like why do I need a high pitch voice or act like I’m hyped on meth to get your attention 😂 but yeah that’s a big reason why I got out not being able to lead like I wanted because no one took you seriously
@@CARSONENGLAND1995well man, it I wanted you to know that what you are feeling, I feel it and I’m talking about it a lot these days. ( I call mine Spinning Compass) Thanks for making this video. It’s reassuring to know there’s other soldiers who felt this level of confusion and frustration.
A little off topic, but I am not only ADHD, but I am kind of tall. I am a junior in HS and I am probably exactly 6 feet as of right now. Is that a safe height?
Man I got buddies that are 6’5 in the military you are definitely good😎
@@CARSONENGLAND1995 thank you sir, I have to say, you are a good man and really show how the nerodivergent community reacts in different places (like the armed forces)
@@jadenspires1891 Thank you very much man!
@@jadenspires1891 I have no clue about tanks
I thought you are not allowed to have adhd in the military?
Did you get back on ADHD meds?
Nope will do once I’m out in June I’ll let you know how it goes
@@CARSONENGLAND1995 Thanks for getting back to me! I’m super interested in your story, did the military prevent you from getting meds? If you wanted them could you get them or are they like “nope.” I’ve got ADHD and will have to go off meds for two years before enlisting.
@@CARSONENGLAND1995 I hope you passed that board!
@@quintonrichards4805 I’m a Sgt now man 😎
@@quintonrichards4805 It just too much work for what it’s worth I would rather be a civilian on medication
Having adhd in the military = hell 😂 that's all you need to know
Pay attention to detail is literally the worst for us😂😂
I have ADHD I joined Got through 2 1/2 years. Not bad Great Times but I get it Alot of dumb things though. Attention Span. HOOAH. 🇺🇲💪🙏♥️💯🇺🇲
You mean they didn't reject you because of your ADHD? Any branch won't let you in with ADHD unless you stopped taking your meds.
Bingo
I have ADHD
Can you still Join The Army with ADHD lol
It was a hush hush thing for me with the recruiter
@@CARSONENGLAND1995 oh i see lol
I did 5 years in the Army and excelled at times but in others I had serious behavior issues with authority. Experienced burn out. Got an article 15 between 2 arcom awards in my last half of service. I'm sure I have ADHD because I've been able to slide past detection. Everything gets rationalized by sugar coating topics, not being really honest because you have always seen life through the lense of good/bad- not disciplined or strong enough. I felt like the army gave me the opportunity to prove myself. I worked extra hard and still felt slow and doubtful about my knowledge. I went from E1 to E5 in 3.5 years. Thanks for telling your story man ! PS - 3 years is Good Conduct medal.
And yet you're driving a vehicle and talking... telling us how it went. ....
