- Coming off a unanimous decision victory over Jaime Munguia the question turns to what is next for Saul Canelo Alvarez. We look at what happened over the 12 rounds, the knockdown and analysis. @@raycutler2524he’s just a taller Jaime. They fight so similarly and they’re not one punch knockout fighters. They’re volume punchers and their defense isn’t great. Benny probably has better defense than Jaime but not by much. He’s been dropped before too, by a guy who wasn’t another one punch type of guy. Jaime hasn’t gone down until last night. It would still be a good fight though

Jaime stock will def be up after the fight, makes him more of a name. I guess the only barrier on the Bivol fight is Canelo accepting he’s not 100% of the A side. That’s main reason the immediate rematch didn’t happen. But appreciate you watching bro!
Nah he should 100% fight Benavidez. After that, a Bivol rematch would make sense, or give Crawford his wish fight in January. Berlanga in May 2025 if he runs the gauntlet and earns a fight the right way.

I don't think Canelo really has many options. A rematch with Bivol would pretty much end the same way, spending tons of time fighting contenders doesn't get him anywhere, and the one option he really has is David Benavides which would be really dangerous, and considering how the Canelo team has been distancing they're fighter from fighting top contenders ever since bivol i don't think its ever gonna happen.

What Canelo is just incredible at, is just fighting the fight at his pace, and forcing his opponent to fight that way. Munguia is usually throwing dozens of punches a round, which he did for a few rounds then as soon as he knew he couldn’t hurt Canelo, he dropped his output significantly. Canelo almost looked like he wasn’t trying and that he didn’t want to hurt Munguia. He only threw in small bursts but made every punch count. Never wasting energy and waiting for that counter. That counter uppercut was a peach and showed how good and patient Canelo actually is it looked like he was in sparring mode while Munguia was fighting the fight of his life. Not taking anything away from him as he’s still a great fighter and his time will come, but Canelo is just too good. And people saying is ducking Benavidez is just silly. Canelo is probably the on,y fighter fighting today who has fought EVERYONE who has challenged him. People forget he fought and went toe to toe with GGG who everyone was terrified of and is practically an inhuman machine who can’t be hurt and hits like a truck. Canelo took GGG punches clean and barely blinked. And Benavidez is no GGG. Yes he’s a great fighter and huge for the size but like the man himself said, HE is callin the shots now. He can do what the fuck he wants, which is what comes with fighting everyone put in front of him. Benavidez will give Canelo a great fight but I don’t think he beats him. Canelo has one thing he doesn’t,,experience. He’s fought every style and type of opponent you can think of. He’s fought huge guys who have longer arms, height reach and natural weight advantages, and the only one who got to him was Bivol, as Bivol is a highly skilled boxer, far better than Benavidez. It’d be a great fight but I don’t think anyone beats Canelo at this point. And to say he’s scared of him is just so juvenile and dumb. The guy fought GGG three times, and that man was a monster. Everyone’s just jumping on the bandwagon because their hero Mike Tyson called David an Monster……sorry…and MONGster, and whatever Lord Tyson says is gospel as people still ride the man’s dick even tho he’s the most overrated Heavyweight fighter in history. Canelo is just too smart, patient and his boxing I.Q is off the charts. It must be so frustrating to hear “oh you haven’t fought THIS guy” , fight them beat them, and then hear the exact same thing about another challenger. However anything can happen in boxing….. it even if Benavidez did beat Canelo, Canelo is still one of the best fighters on the planet right now and will leave an incredible legacy. He’s an old school fighter. Fights anyone anytime. Not many fighters risk that today.

facts i agree, but the only logical fight for him now is benavidez. charlo and berlanga have no chance no one really wants to see that.but i think the benavidez fight will happen around october but i hope it’s this year and we don’t have to wait until next year

@@user-ft6wo8rs5g Benavidez just jumped to 175. He should have stayed at 168 to put more pressure on Canelo. The division is pretty much cleaned out, David could have cleaned it out even more until Canelo had no choice but to fight him.
I still think they fight, but probably in May 2025. Canelo's gonna force him back down to 168 after David's gotten used to 175. Probably throw in the rehydration clauses and all that other stuff to milk every advantage.

Good victory for Canelo but no surprise. What's next for Canelo? He would lose to Benevidez. David Morell matchup would be a great fight. A Crawford fight would be interesting but going up two weight classes is too much for Crawford. Canelo's chin is legendary. A Bivol rematch would come out the same thing. My question is why is Morells name never mentioned?
