That's is the kind of video that I feel is lacking in the PS2 community. Thank you very for that in depth video! I would like you to do the same with EMP, smoke, revive, and other types of grenades. Also I found that for weird reasons the smoke grenades seems to be the ones not working often.
One grand use of decoy grenades is to hopefully get that one stubborn guy's attention away from your position or even an enemy tank. They will probably go inspect the area so basically metal gear solid stuff except it doesn't always work since these are real people. It's even more handy if you happen to be in a tank with stealth yourself and maybe force enemy tank to turn its rear on you. I pulled that off a few times and got some easy prowler kills with a lightning.
The biggest issue i have with nades is smoke nades not going off at all. My current suspicion is they have to have a certain airtime before working when hitting the ground. This would be super dumb as the best use case is in tighter areas to fully exploit infravision… but I have yet to do proper research on that
great vid, i had no idea decoy nades had recon and distracted spitfires lol. that grenade indicator UI change would be really nice, most of the time I die to a grenade I just don't see the indicator
back when everyone and their mother had spitfires i used decoy nades quite often, it made the spitfires go apeshit and the owner got credited with teamkill/damage if someone was in the way
This wasn't mentioned, but grenades can also act as obstacles to vehicles while they are in your hands, often flipping them. Or at least they used to, the last time I had something like this happen was like 2 years ago.

Well that’s interesting stuff about the opacity of grenade indicators when ADS’ing. Nice to get a explanation behind that.
