I had the same pump leak, so glad I found your vid after I spend a good amount of time figuring out how to get this thing out. Thanks
No problem! Thanks for watching
Thanks man! I have shop key pro and I was having a hell of a time finding info other than remove this plug and these clamps. It never always says what how how to get it out. I was trying to lower the subframe lol I was frustrated and then seen this. Thank you!
Hah yeah I only made that video because I tried doing it that way first lol. I’m happy it helped you out!
I subscribed. Keep up the good work!
Thanks!!
nice job. thanks
I’m doing this job for a customer right now. You saved me time. Plus now I don’t have to make a video for it.
That’s excellent, happy it help
Thank you 🙏
Hi, Thanks for the video. Can you reiterate if you pull the pump and therm out up front by the coolant fan or is there a better way?
Definitely pull the cooling fan and remove it from the top.
Hi
Is there any special procedure refilling coolant?

@@EuropeanAutoRepair thanks a lot!
Man! You go straight to the point like it should be!!
Haha no problem! Try not to add too much fluff
@@EuropeanAutoRepair last question
Im going to order the pump
What kind of antifreeze should be used on this one

Nice video and instructions. You said these pumps had a pretty high failure rate. At what mileage should I be worried about the pump failure? I have 2013 X5 35i with E70 chassis and N55 engine, which has just passed 50k miles. Thank you.
I usually see it between 75-100k miles but some last longer and others don’t make it that long, I wouldn’t stress about it much
@@EuropeanAutoRepair I see @1:07 there is another rubber thing facing up with three small holes on it. I think it is the charge pipe holder. Do you need a long needle nose plier to pull the rubber holder out before pulling the fan out? Thanks.
I believe you can usually just pull those straight up out of there
@@EuropeanAutoRepair I see. So just pull both the rubber holder and the fan straight up together. Thanks.
How many hours of labor did u take to complete the job ?
I think it pays around 3 hours
@@EuropeanAutoRepair I have the same problem same year and model. The body shop is quoting me 2700
Hmm sounds like a bit much. How much are the parts?
@@EuropeanAutoRepair I guess a new pump is 700 but I think im gonna look for a used one
@@23cardelga pretty high failure rate on those pumps. I wouldn't mess with a used one.
