    Love the flat braid so you can see the evenness of each color. Very pretty!

      Right? it's lovely. If you've got a few colors of thread that you just love the colors of this is the way to show them off.

    I have a collection of these in different color combinations with just & only the Knot - It! Waxed Brazilian cord that are from The Bead Smith & Hobby Lobby. I'm probably gonna have a boatload of these bracelets (They're braid samples)

    Love it!! Question: the one with the beads are the beads loose or do you do knots in between so the beads can stay in place? And also how long do you cut the cords for that bracelet? 9 cord as well? Ty!!!

      With that beaded bracelet we left the seed beads loose to add some movement to the design, you could also knot them in place if you want to though. Here's the project page for that bracelet, the instruction sections lists the measurements we used: beadaholique.com/collections/beading-projects/products/shell-girl-bracelet

      There are different tricks for this depending on where you're selling. You can make a variety of common sizes for sale ahead of time, using a bracelet mandrel to help you size the pieces, or you can have customers measure their wrist to request a custom size. If you're selling in person you can put out display pieces to demonstrate the look of the finished bracelets, and keep partially finished pieces in stock so that you can measure people's wrists for them and finish the bracelet for a custom fit. Customers love custom fitting so they're usually more than happy to wait or browse around while you work.

      @@beadaholique what do they do and where do u get tham

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 роки тому

      A bracelet mandrel is a rod used for sizing bracelets as you make them. We sell a few models on beadaholique, this is a popular one: beadaholique.com/products/hard-wood-oval-bracelet-sizing-bangle-mandrel-wire-wrapping-tool
      Often jewelry makers will add their own measuring marks to them to help them make common sizes. We have a video on how to do that which also explains a bit about bracelet sizing: beadaholique.com/products/how-to-add-size-markings-to-your-bracelet-mandrel

      @@beadaholique is there a vid out there how to use them to size the bracelet u want to make? from start to finish

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 роки тому

      We don't have a start to finish video on that, it's a good idea though and I'm sure there are some good ones here on UA-cam. You can get a pretty good idea of what to do watching what Kat does to size this bracelet and then do the same using a bracelet mandrel instead of your own wrist. It's really a substitute for a wrist. Depending on how high on low you place it on the mandrel you'll get a different size, and you can add markings to it so that you can find that size every time.

    why waxed cord? feels so weird lol

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 роки тому

      We use waxed cord for sliding knot bracelets because the texture helps the knots stay in place until you pull them loose. You can use unwaxed cord but it will be a little looser

      Also, it's water proof and the ends are heated to secure against tangles and unwinding.
