Its really unfortunate that Dr.Balamuralikrishna was not awarded Bharat Ratna though he was awarded Padma Vibhushan in 1991.It is strange to note that Bhimsen Joshi who was awarded Padma vibhushan years later was also awarded Bharat Ratna.As Ilaya Raja has rightly pointed out we will never have the luck to have another legend like BMK who has explored the depths of the oceans of music.Again it is all the more unfortunate that M.S.Gopalakrishnan was not awarded Padma Vibhushan in spite of the fact that he was the only violinist in India who could play Hindustani as well as Carnatic music in all its glory and expertise.It is heard that after playing kalyani in a concert the world renowned yahudi menuhin came to the stage to examine MSG's fingers to confirm that it is not because of any magic he is playing violin in his own traditional Parur style.May be there are political agendas in not considering these two legends for what they really deserve

Sad that the only example Ilayaraja Sir could think of to describe Balamurali Krishna Sir’s greatness was to show Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi in poor light. As for trivial anecdotes, here’s one from me - it is on record that Pandit Bhimsen ji would eat a handful of hot chillies right before his concert if he had a cold or felt his voice was not ok. So now should we ask other vocalists if they can manage to do that and then measure their greatness?

He said like... is that a throat which can be affected by a butter milk?!(might have been told by BMK JI but in public Raja is using this phrase) This man has got 100 percent talent and 500 percent head weight ! Even Yesudas ji strictly follows some procedures to take care of his voice. Its the nature and goal of few legendary singers. Raja sir always blames others. If he is conveying something with smile and laughter its not that there is freedom to talk like anything. He blames rahman and Msv sir also during rahman sir's Oscar award felicitation.
