  • This is part 1 of the reel replacement on a Toro Greensmaster Flex21. In this video I go over when to replace the reel, removing the cutting unit and how to tell if you have an older or newer style cutting unit. I have the parts needed listed below. That black bar on the back is a kickstand to prevent the mower tipping back. Also the difference in reels are for different machines and relief grinding and other adjustments on the reel are designed so that your reel you just replaced can just be sharpened and continue service

    This will be a good series RLD!! What is the big difference between the Flex21 and a GM1000?

      The height of cut and the Flex has a “floating” head. So reel is independent of the drive drum

    So I noticed during the fixing there was no scratch on you face, after there was. Do we get to see when and how it appears in the future videos?

    Spin grinding returns your reel to perfect roundness and corrects grinding that may have left one end slightly larger than the other.
    Relief grind then, if you prefer, but telling folks to avoid the spin is not very helpful.

    • @ReelLowDad
      @ReelLowDad  5 років тому +1

      To relief grind you have to spin grind . I am advocating relief grinds. Most places don’t do it and they need to. The reason they don’t is to drive repeat business
