Toro Greensmaster Flex21 | Reel Bearing Housings | Reel Install

This is part 3 of the reel replacement on a Toro Greensmaster Flex21. In this video I will be reassembling the reel bearing housings and installing the reel. This is very messy as the new bearings do not cime packed with grease. Make sure you have gloves available and plenty of towels. Caution needs to be taken to not damage the reel during install and to not cut yourself. I have the parts needed listed below. Some parts, like the belts are normal wear items and I figured I should replace them. I have only replaced one so far.

Do you like the groomer? I have a bentgrass putting green I cut with my Flex21 and couldn't stand the groomer. I actually bought the out front brush assembly and for myself it worked so much better.

Use wrench to install grease seal, what about a 22mm socket and rubber mallet? we know Ryan would have just bought the seal press tool.

Do you have to replace the bearings when replacing the reel, or did they just need replaced because they were shot?

You don’t have to but the small monetary cost outweighs the additional labor cost if you didn’t replace them and then they failed. Best to replace all wear items while the unit is apart.

Question for you - I purchased a flex 21 that has a groomer on it and didn't realize the HOC restriction of .5" I want to get my HOC to .625-.7". From my research, the only way to do this is remove the groomer and the high HOC kit installed? Do you know of any other way? Thank you

The only other way would be to design and find someone that can make new HOC arms compatible with the groomer. It sucks. I feel your pain.

Hahaha. Nope. Mine came with the groomer. Super costly if you want to add on later.
