1:58 "between wheel arches ..is 1.9m" ?? No it isn't, lol. The whole vehicle is 1.985m .. so about 1.0m between wheel arches in cargo area... ~mini van size.
Apologies! You are correct Krusty. I'll pin this comment
Took one on a 48 hour drive (from Chelmsford VW) and used it to get my job, hotel and then job again. Once done, home. Overall a very happy experience. Definitely the one 😀.
Very nice!
I just realised I had a dinky ambulance in the early 1970's that had similar lines to the ID Buzz. Now I know why it is growing on me.
The visivbility out the front looks great.
Pity the armrest is missing I'm sure you would have liked it in the caddy.
Like you I prefer real switches.
Another good video.
Thanks Derek
Thanks Des. It's definitely going for the retro vibe. Can't beat an armrest. All I need now is to keep both hands on the steering wheel 🙈
£120 for the body colour bumpers, as a salesperson I’ll pretty much be recommending it given the cost already, feature for feature and taking into account the UK grant, it’s not far off a T6.1, there is a difference in payload and volume of course and that’s a discussion well up front.
Thanks Mark. body coloured bumpers all the way. The payload and volume will suit some and not others alright.
It looks great. I’m not entirely sure where the passenger version fits into the market . I think the general public will continue to buy electric cars or suv's. It will do well as a commercial vehicle if the price is right but I still think they’ve gone a bit too far down the nostalgia route with this van and long term it could suffer the same fate as the Beetle or Sirocco. It’s a bit flashy for a van. I’d be interested to know if any van drivers out there would consider buying one?
I think it's bring minivan size to the European market. I've spoken to a few businesses and it will be more about marketing with the Buzz rather than practicality but I need to speak to actual drivers
a van is a roomer SUV .. always seemed weird to me how people find a SUV more desirable than a roomer Van.
I think the Buzz Cargo might be more of a novelty vehicle as the new electric Transorter which is a shared eTransit platform will be the more serious option.
So useful thanks, I'll consider this. I think the two tone is revolting though! Just a thought, if theres no new Caddy, how are small businesses supposed to come up with this much money for a van?!
I really don't know. The Caddy was a great size and price.
I'm surprised you think it will lose that much compared to the wltp. I have a peugeot e-expert, and easily get 280km out of an 80% charge. So while i don't regularly go up to 100% i have no doubt it would be over 300. And that's with load.
I'm actually surprised this isnt more efficient though. I've got a 21,5kwh/100km consumption on the last 3000km I've done, and the e-expert is bigger. I get 6,6m2 in the back and I think just under 1000kg load weight.
Great comment and points Matthias. What is your vehicles weight unladen and lets compare
@@NevoEVReviewIreland i've got an L3 e-expert with a 75kwh battery, so my unladen weight is 2184, and my allowed cargo weight is 870kg. I've got about 300kg in it with my tools etc. And usually a couple hundred extra kg of stuff i'm moving around for jobs.
no barn door option for rear door - so can't get a pallet fork lifted into back of van.. major negative. not great for underground as the rear door opens up high above the door
Thanks Robert, I was sure there was a barn door option!
Just heard back from my contact in VW. There will be a barn door option after initial production run.
@@NevoEVReviewIreland ah super!
For commercial purposes the Ford E-Transit may be better value for money. Personally I think the regular non-cargo ID Buzz will do better.
Did you see the e-Transit Custom! Specifically for Europe but I really like the look of it
I heard no plan to bring the cargo version to the USA.
Same as the Ford E-Transit Custom. Too small for the market they think
@@NevoEVReviewIreland I think it's the US chicken tax of 25% on "trucks". this is considered a truck.
Does the bulkhead look like it could come out entirely?
With an angle grinder yes. I think it's factory fitted and welded
@@NevoEVReviewIreland oh no. :-( and no Kombi option!
Why someone cannot buy that as a regular car?
I believe it's to do with insurance purposes
Schön!
Glad you liked it and thanks for the comment
If you want to save money on maintenance and fuel, continue watching.
Thanks you for the counter argument Ken. Always 2 sides. I appreciate the comment.
Well done for putting Matt Cooper in his place. He talks absolute rubbish!
Explain?
Thanks Stephen. Ndos I was on a national radio station this afternoon Answering some EV questions from listeners messaging in.
@@NevoEVReviewIreland I just had a listen. I learnt a lot. Great job.
