God of War II is an action-adventure hack and slash video game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE). First released for the PlayStation 2 on March 13, 2007, the game is the second installment in the God of War series, the sixth chronologically, and the sequel to 2005's God of War. It is based on Greek mythology and set in ancient Greece, with vengeance as its central motif. The player character is protagonist Kratos, the new God of War who killed the former, Ares. Kratos is betrayed by Zeus, the King of the Olympian gods, who strips him of his godhood and kills him. Slowly dragged to the Underworld, he is saved by the Titan Gaia, who instructs him to find the Sisters of Fate, as they can allow him to travel back in time, avert his betrayal, and take revenge on Zeus.
God of War is an action-adventure video game series, the first era of which was loosely based on Greek mythology. Debuting in 2005, the series became a flagship title for the PlayStation brand and the character Kratos is one of its most popular characters. The series consists of nine games across multiple platforms; the first seven make up the Greek era of the series. Five of the Greek era games have been re-released through three separate compilations for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) platform: God of War Collection (2009), God of War: Origins Collection (2011), and God of War Saga (2012). With the exception of God of War III in the God of War Saga, each collection features remastered ports of the games that were not originally released on the PS3. God of War III was later remastered as God of War III Remastered and released on PlayStation 4 (PS4) in July 2015. God of War: Betrayal, God of War: Ascension, God of War (2018), and God of War Ragnarök are the only installments that have not been remastered for a newer platform or included in a collection.

Greek here, in all honesty, I don't blame Zeus at all for this, that city was causing nothing but trouble for the rest of Greece.
As an Irishman, I do prefer Macedon/Makedon, as I always heard they were similar to the Irish in some ways. I want your opinion btw, what do you think about that slavic country claiming the name "Macedonia", and claiming Macedonians were not Hellenes?

In fairness, Odin didn't work like this. ZEUS was a physical threat basically at all times, while Odin was essentially playing chess in every social interaction he had. We know things were Odin's doing, but he didn't directly do a lot.
This is pretty true. We should've SEEN how violent and crazy Thor could be. But ironically, I never really figured him for being "a destroyer" either. Odin same thing, we hear lots about how horrible he is, when he's just a manipulator. Which is bad, but GOW2018 painted odin to be Aesir Hitler, someone with unbounded cruelty, when in reality he's just an asshole
How much sense would it make to talk about zeus more than Odin in Norse games are u slow?

We do realize that Kratos did not face That Zeus right ? For plot reasons we faced a Zeus from always going full power against Kratos.
The only time we see him going all out was at the beginning of GoW3 were he blasts us to the Underworld with a single Thunderbolt
he was not holding back in their final fight or at the end of gow 2

For starters greek gods are immortals in myths.
@@CostmioLabos In Greek myths it does actually gods are unkillable, hence why Kronos and the Titans were imprisoned and not killed.
But as you said yes , the old games apart from using the names and vague lore have little to do with Greek mythology
@@thehermit8723It’s a video game about a guy gaining the power to kill the gods. To argue their immortality is like arguing for the Justice League to survive, Suicide Squad kills the Justice league.. If the gods can’t die there’d be no point in the entire game..

Technical it never happened. Kratos traveled back in Time and prevented his Death, wounding Zeus and then began his Attack on Olympus. Sparta and the Spartan Warrior Guy is still around
Assuming that they didn’t die from the natural disasters triggered by each of the gods Kratos killed. Although Týr did mention that Greece was rebuilt in the time after Kratos stabbed himself to release hope to man
