thank you!
Thanks for the videos, but more importantly thank you for what you and your family are doing to get the gospel to the ends of the earth! Bless you.
Ryan,
Interesting flight back to Goroka. It's nice to have aircraft these days capable of flying in these conditions ,but the bottom line is still the same as years gone by, no your mountains, valleys, rivers & the odd tree. Good to hear you explaining your decisions. Thanks for the ride and stay safe.
Thanks again Ryan. Narrow runway and cloud on hills - keeps you from getting bored. Be blessed
Very cool - what an amazing view once the clouds cleared up!
Very cool flight - you are competent and it shows. Thank you for uploading. I watch these usually 6 times over the course of the week and take notes.
Glad you enjoyed it
I'm reminded of the old saying by Captain A. G. Lamplugh, a British pilot from the early days of aviation, who once famously said, “Aviation in itself is not inherently dangerous. But to an even greater degree than the sea, it is terribly unforgiving of any carelessness, incapacity or neglect.”
It highlights the vital importance of the constant application of safety and caution in aviation.
Ryan hi from Alberta Canada another great flight. Doesn't matter how may FLOGs of yours i enjoy they are always different.Takes a totally different piloting skill set flying in PNG In good weather here in the Rocky Mountains or up north we have advantages like flight following, ATC vectoring, and mostly paved and serviced airports. Even the remotest airports with gravel runways are improved compacted surfaces with, very good drainage, lighted, marked, snow clearing in winter and 75% towered. Flying off the established routes here still do not compare to the challenges pilots flying in PNG experience. Has to be a great experience flying there Thanks for making your flights available on Flight Sim.
glad you still enjoy them
It’s interesting how much I enjoyed watching your video. You’ll make a good instructor. Thanks for sharing your flight with us.
My pleasure!
Navigating an aircraft in bad weather indeed places a tremendous burden on pilots, demanding their expertise, judgment, and composure. Safety must always come first, and the aviation industry's stringent training and protocols play a pivotal role in ensuring that pilots can make sound decisions under challenging circumstances.
Wondering why so much exhaust coming out of turbine… don’t remember NTE doing that
Excellent Flight Ryan, Great to see you again. Godspeed
In the 1960's my brother in law was a pilot for Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) based in what was then west Irian and flew into the same areas you are currently in. Names like Wewack and such, plus pictures of the "airfields" you are flying into, including the uphill, stationary aircraft carrier, bring back memories. Thank you for what you're doing.
Interesting flight. Thanks for taking us along!🙏
Thumbs Up was just telling you “Flying is cool and I want to be a pilot just like you!”
Thanks for the ride along and for sharing Ryan. Blessings🙂😎🤔🏁
No passengers on this one... let's get CRAAAAAZYYYYY!
Love to watch your flights. Fun to tag along. Thanks for doing these from a Utah pilot currently without a plane. :[
as a 93 year old ex comm./ifr pilot I have never heard the expression: ignition, condition..please explain...love your videos...great pilot.
It's a last minute check to make sure my ignitors are turned on for takeoff, and the condition lever is moved to high idle
oooooh is that a dash-8-200 at 26:34? I'm making one of those for MSFS right now.
You certainly make it look too easy Ryan, that's for sure! 😊 Great flying, as always!
Very beautiful and nice Mr Handsome Pilot.
Thx for sharing.
Greetings from Queens, New York ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.
Going through that pass, with the cumulograniticus clouds above you to the left and right got my heart pumping a little. Thanks for bringing us along on this one. 🙂
Wow, that’s some remote territory.
Priority Left!
Oh, wait...
Great video.
love your videos so much!! honest note-is Brad more haphazard than you would be?
Watching this as a very amateur pilot in the UK just amazed at how high the workload is! Not even enough time for formal written checklists - you just have to know it by heart. Also must take sooo much time to produce the video swapping between the various Go Pro's. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for allowing us an insight into your decision-making process. It's definitely helpful to observe. Thanks for posting.
Great video Ryan. Thank You
Hello from Minnesota USA!! Great episode!!
Hey Pat!
Sweet.
Good
Travel Vlogger Kurt Caz (3 mil subs) is in PNG and it would be so awesome if you could take him on one of your flights great content lol
little kitfox missed burning man.
ha, probably would have got stuck like everyone else
I've always wondered how those WW2 pilots found their way around PNG without GPS. Nothing but a paper map & a watch
a lot of stress, that's how
Hey! Just wondering where you got that W&B app😊 Thanks for the vids, I might fly a 208 soon so learning a lot 🙏
It's called flightspan
I love it! Best mountain flying ever. Does it blow 20kts over the ridges very often?
Weather says winds prevail southeast from May to October and northwest from December to March which leaves November and April ?
There are a few location in PNG that it does get pretty windy, but only a couple times a year do I see 30 knots. It's usually under 10 knots
@@MissionaryBushPilot Nice! Thanks for sharing.
Hi Ryan!
Youve probably mentioned it before but what app do you use for W&B? the one in the beginning of the video :)
FlightSpan
Great flight! Brad is flying. Is your other trainee flying?
No, Jeff is no koyflting with us
Looking for the link for coffee
How much Do You miss weather radar from NTZ in that type of conditions.
I actually don't use the radar barely ever. Only in heavy rain when I have to go through it, but never in rain and the mountains. I'm always high over the mountains, or like on this flight, not that heavy of rain
Do you ever get stuck in an outlying village were you have to stay overnight?
Haven't yet
does ethnos ever fly in the western province, specifically near Daru?
no, we don't have any missionaries out that way
bummer! I and my parents live out in daru as indepenent missionaries. I am 16 and planning on becoming a missionary pilot too!@@MissionaryBushPilot
forgot to login come on bro lol
jk you da best man
Is anywhere were You fly in PNG instrument approach (like RNAV-GPS) in some airports (like Goroka)? if yes, are that's airports default alternative?
how long is contingency fuel in PNG. Legal/Company's/Personal.
Company IFR reserve is 1.5 hr, VFR is 1 hr. We have approach he's at some big hubs, and Goroka is coming this October
curious...have you ever seen anything "unusual" on a flight? UAP, or the like?
Not yet
Why go to flaps 20 when crossing the ridge?
helps me slow down to 80 knots, which gives me more time to think and make adjustments to my plan, and with the flaps, it allows me to fly slower without stalling and better control movement
@@MissionaryBushPilot thanks and amazing vid as usual
Who is this other guy you always mention, a pilot?
Thanks for another great vid! When you say “harness" or “harness and fuel," what are you referring to? You always point to the ceiling. I see fuel there but I don’t understand "harness."
there's a harness lock near the fuel valve. Keeps the shoulder strap locked in place.
Fuel is the red levers on the roof, making sure they are on, harness is the black lever for my seatbelt lock
Just ask WWJD?
Are these videos from before you left or are they new after you’ve returned? 😊
From here on out, they are all new
Great 😅
16:42 Just curious, who is subsidizing these flights? Can any one in any of these villages request free transport from one village to another for any reason? How lucky to be able to catch a ride with you for those living in the area!
