Love when I see an upload from you. Lots of people are saying lock out the elbows, which is true but locked elbows places very intensive and specific forces on the elbow structures. Ideally if you want to train rings strength you should follow a program that will safely load the joints over time with modified Iron cross training and other straight arm work. It would suck to hear you got an injury such as a strained bicep/bicep tendon from jumping into straight arm work to quickly.

I'm not as strong as you but I have learned to hold an iron cross (you can check my vids), I think you definitely have the strength, the important thing for you is to make sure you lock out your arms, and also to feel the position. If you can set up where you can use some resistance bands to take off some weight just to feel the hold, i reckon you could learn a cross in a few weeks. There's kind of like a technique of squeezing your lats that once you get you will be able to hold the position much easier.

I did not feel it in my lats at all....But I was doing it all wrong. Rings are so weird. My elbows need to be pointed downwards not up. And I will check out your page as soon as I finish this post. By flexing your lats, what do you mean? Sort of sit on them? If that makes sense.

When you are at the top of the dip (before lowering into it), lock your elbow and turn your palms out. If you do it right, your biceps will kind of point forwards. When you do it with locked arms you should feel it in your lats.

Also roll your shoulders a little bit forward (this will help with elbow positioning.)

Got to try and open the rings, turn the palms forwards.

Still really great strength even though your arms weren't straight. Where do you feel the most pain when doing this?

I felt the most pain in my elbows, shoulders, and chest. Didnt feel right at all haha. Similar to that of a plance I suppose, just amplified.

insane strength but not at all an iron cross. you need to first work on you basic ring support. turn your palms forward and maintain that position to the cross.

It felt so ugly, not to mention dangerous. Debating on if I want to master it still. But after watching a few others, I can def see a major difference. Thanks for your feedback!

u need to really focus on locking out the elbows, they should not be bent like that. protraction and forward rotation of the rotator cuff.

No no no. I was in a commercial that was playing during the Rio Olympics. It was for a special series dealing with athletes injuring themselves on rings. I got a special shoutout. lmao
