The squad that Amorim inherited was not built for his 3-4-3 formation. The head coach was asked why he did not wait until the close season to implement it. “When you have a change of coach, especially in this type of club, it is because they were not winning,” he said. “They play in the system they were bought for and were losing. So I am going to change to that system? This team was already in trouble.” ;-)

@ I actually think relegation would push them closer to success because they’d be closer to resolving the actual cultural and significant issues behind the scenes embedded and manifested at the core of the club. If you hate United, you’d want them to stay in the league lingering in mid table where they could delude themselves into thinking they need to spend and chuck more money at the problem in signing more players on too much money on long contracts over priced transfers fees dragging them closer to bankruptcy.
I know right, why is he not coming for crosses the goal today was a looping cross about 4mtrs away from him when he crossed it I think he's gotta come for them crosses when he can and claim them crosses and corners and maybe get a foul or punch them away, I know he knocks people out when he does but that would be good to watch and more entertaining, his arms should be 2ft above defenders heads when he has a run up he's flat-footed on the goalline and slow reactions, he's great passing the ball play him at center back or center midfield😄

Unbelievable, this is about the fourth or fifth studio post-match post-mortem of this match I have looked at; all of them talking about how Manchester United lost the match, not how Newcastle won it. He isn't playing a 3-4-3. I'm sick to death of people trying to act like he's some revolutionary tactician. It's a 523. 5 defenders, featuring 3 pointless centre backs offering absolutely nothing both offensively and defensively. Mazraoui is right back, he's hardly even playing wing back because he isn't capable of it. Dalot is the left wing back. Thats 5. It's not a 3! The midfield is a TWO not a FOUR. If United had 4 midfielders, why do they look outnumbered in every game when they come up against midfield 3. The answer is because it's 2 united midfielders chasing the shadows of 3 opponent midfielders. The remaining players are the 3 forwards. Diallo basically playing right wing and then Bruno in this ill fitting attacking mid/ sort of left wing-ish role that he simply can't play. The attack is completed by the league's worst striker running about like a headless chicken and scuffing chances when it very ocassionally lands at his feet. United has a terrible squad but Ruben Interim has made this ten times worse with his formation. It doesn't suit a single player in that team yet he persists with it. Stop surrendering the midfield! You don't need 3 centre backs! Two CBs will do, and use that extra man to match the opposition midfield. Awful, awful manager. He'll be sacked by February.
