The blessing of the horses

I love how Mexicans celebrate life! Today is one of my favorite events in San Miguel de Allende, the Cabalgata, or the blessing of the horses. Horses and their riders come from communities all around San Miguel to gather for a misa and a blessing of the horses in front of the main church. It’s such a sweet event! The Cabalgata is part of the Alborada, a 100 year old festival celebrating the archangel Michael. #sanmigueldeallende #mexico #guanajuato #religion #horses #alborada #cabalgato
