    In this video, we sit down with a friend to have a casual conversation on how is it like moving from Singapore to live in Johor, Malaysia. We just want to share with you a little perspective on life in Malaysia, specifically the state of Johor as it is the closest state to Singapore and very accessible and achievable for Singaporeans to hop over.

    Thanks for doing such content. Im a Singaporean planning to live in JB and work in Spore too. Its so stress here over money for a common Singaporean like me, without expatriates' skills and connections. In order to save about $500 per month, i cant eat better, i cant buy and use a lot of things, i cant go for hobbies and interests activities, i can only stay at home after work with UA-cam, and i hate my job and the people there. I just want a better life outside of long working hours and low pay. 😰😭

    Living is all about lifestyle. You can live very cheaply in some Asian countries, but if you get sick, you will not find the type or quality of service that you would expect.
    Now and again I will go back to Singapore and the one thing that I appreciate most is where I live now, I can plck an apple or plum from my backyard and that was what I have always wanted to do - grow my own fruits.

    Good video on the perspective of Singaporean living in Malaysia. I think the grand question that is on everyone's mind is - how is this achievable for a normal Singaporean to live long term in Malaysia?
    Based on what is made available to the public, one needs to apply for the "Malaysia My Second Home - MMH2" which has extremely stringent requirements such as a minimum monthly offshore revenue/income of RM40,000, RM,1,000,000 in fixed deposit besides others. This is around SGD 11512 in income at today's exchange rate. If one has such a high income, he/she might as well remain in Singapore.

    • @ThomasLi88
      @ThomasLi88 7 місяців тому +2

      Excellent point raised. For any ordinary Singaporean, we are granted 30 days social visit pass to enter Malaysia. It will be good to explain how does one qualify to live in Malaysia long term. If a high income is required, it defeats the whole purpose altogether.

    Happened to stumble on this video winch popped up like those investment training videos!
    The way it's described, she seems to be living in a cocoon - in double-security gated community unlike home where it's like a triple-gated community bigger cocoon with air, land and sea protection with free movement and few security worries for the common folks! It's appropriate that she is single - seemingly - san children and grandchildren - so few or no wifely, motherly and grandmotherly obligations. The scenario would be very different for most Singaporeans with wife/husband, kids and grandparents. The few times on road trips is like getting out of the cocoon - which any ordinary, indeed most Singaporeans could enjoy anytime during the long holidays, school vacations or annual leaves. While space may be a premium for tiny island Singapore, space could also be a constraint and a price to pay. Wait till you have lots and lots of space and you will realise - like in continental Australia where our combat planes fly freely and soldiers run till they drop. You can't walk to school or shopping malls! Tightly-knitted Singapore allows one just to hop around looking for hawker centres and shopping malls and parks - any time without getting pass through security. There is nothing like home - a place you where you grow up and where families and friends are around, and where you don't feel uprooted or foreign - living in familiar surroundings where one can move around with eyes closed and ears plugged literally - day or night! To each his or her own - really, honestly. Living in a foreign country one has to be polite, diplomatically correct on what one says - otherwise one can be easily booted out or have passport stamped "Notis Penolakan Masuk/ (Notice of Refusal of Entry) - at a moment notice! Sama sama for Malaysians who wish to live in Singapore.

    Owning a vehicle in M’sia, it’s better to drive a SUV or 4X4. Occasionally, you may travel around driving in through e.g. trunk roads, beaches, country sides.
    Perhaps a trip up north regions.

    • @corporatebreakoutcouple
      @corporatebreakoutcouple  3 місяці тому

      Yes, you have a point. If one lives in KL, Johor, Perak - it's best to drive a bigger car. Better to navigate tougher road conditions as the roads aren't well maintained in certain areas and also driving on highways.
      If one lives in Penang, a sedan would be better as roads in Penang are narrower but well maintained.

    I often read messages from the other prospective. Many hear the good things but I focused on the bad things. To go for the good things is easy but to make the necessary changes to make bad to good is very difficult and to do it is silly because why not just go for the easy way, saved time, effort and maybe money. Happy, you are there, yes. Sad, you are there, yes. I cannot say this generation but this century, people are different in their philosophy about life, mainly because they don't have much spare time to think deeply into the situation, choice and consequences. Should we do something about it or just go with the flow and concluded "what come may". Someday, will Singapore will much diluted because we are surrounded by water or would it be OK instead of drinking pure water settled for diluted water? Whatever your take for now by your decision is also for your future generation to come, think about it?.
