Be prepared to have magnifying glasses on every table and counter and on top of your head 👀 because you get tired of running through the house for your prescription glasses. Welcome to the club! I always had 20/20 until the last few years. At first the change was minimal and didn’t really require glasses but in the last year the change was been much more noticeable and glasses have become necessary, particularly my readers . Aging is fun! You look good in glasses!
So enjoying your Vlogmas Ali, had to comment today. I too have the Blue Fern yarn advent in classic DK, it is glorious, the colour fade is amazing… not sure what to make yet!! One or two ideas. Also I have listened to the Bob Mortimer book and I agree it is so him and hilarious. I will be listening to the second book too - The Hotel Avocado ❤
Lovely yarny book! Reminds me of the God’s eyes we’d make as kids with yarn and wrapping them around pop sicle sticks to create the similar look. Haven’t thought about those in forever!! Lots of fun.
The Lemon cheesecake recipe is a hit in our house. As we had some frozen berries, I heated those up with some icing sugar and decorated the top with them. Yummy scrummy, thank you for recipe.

I have just finished listening to Hotel Avocado by Bob Mortimer. It is just as entertaining to listen to and also has Paul Whitehouse narrating too. I just love his humour.
You will love the crochet mandala. It's so mindful. I did 100 days of crochet on my Instagram and on one of the days I made one. It was so enjoyable and made me want to make one in lots of different colour schemes. (Same name as my username here if you want to see the photo of my mandala inspired by seaside colours)
Your advents are so pretty. Did the companies advertise them as fades? I splurged and got myself two advents this year but neither of them are fades. The yarns are absolutely beautiful but I am a bit disappointed that neither of them is a fade.
Welcome to middle age with the glasses lol. You do realise what a slippery slope you’re on now? Within 5 years I needed bifocals and now I think I’m almost ready for a white stick!! xxx
Hi Ali, I needed reading glasses (crafting glasses) when I reach 42. My eyes seemed to go all of a sudden . My main eye sight is still 20/20 and i turn 61 this Christmas. The crafting was my downfall, cross stitch did it for me. x
Yesterday I was holding a cane for someone who had both a cane and a walker on the bus. When I went to get off the bus, the bus driver asked did you forget your cane? Ouch.!
Hi Ali. I wear glasses since I was a little girl. I suspect you are very young still and I might be old enough to be your mother. 😂 But I have varifocals. I also have a special pair of handwork glasses because the reading are is not efficient due to having an eye disease. I find it makes a world of difference and hope you do too.
You didn’t look ridiculous as your hair won’t blow all over the place. I had a ppt with specialist and I need cataract surgery. Waiting for the call from the surgeon. Hope in the next 3 months I can get the appt.
