+Datto datto, special spawns 3 minutes into a round now but trials rounds are 2 minutes or less. How do special ammo boxes work in trials and elimination now?

Prajit Praveen You are an ignorant fool. If you actually used Hammer of Sol you would see that 80 % of the time a direct hit on an enemy wouldn't kill them because hammers have proximity detonation. Bungie nerfed the splash damage which means there isn't enough splash damage to compensate for hammers detonating early. This was an oversight that needs to fixed along with arc blade and shoulder charge hit detection.

Prajit Praveen A titan in hammer of sol during combat lasts on average 10-15 seconds which is the same as golden gun. I can't you're one of those people who just talks out their ass for attention.

Its not about the some or the mag, they reduce the whole inventory for special and heavy ammo!
+Joseph Sutton If you use thousand yard stare you can and will run out of sniper ammo on bullet sponges like golg. They already nerfed special drops in crucible.

Being a big fan of fusion rifle you REALLY scared me around 3:27 , i am not going to lie.

I personally run sunsinger in trials so I understand the enjoyment of the class and I understand the frustration. Why not do something like when Viking Funeral the firebolt grenade cooldown is increased. Then nerf voidfang vestments and make it only work on void class. then warlocks can't spawn with firebolt grenade, they get to keep their damage, but it also is limited if they want to use viking funeral to go with it.
+BosSox I was ready to go on the attack when I read "nerf Voidfang Vestments" until I saw you weren't proposing destroying Voidwalker gear. Practically every piece of PvP Voidwalker gear has been nerfed except Voidfang. The Nothing Manacles nerf still stings.
AKSBSU I know man. I still run nothing manacles in 6v6 pvp because nothing else on the void bro is better. And yeah I was wondering what if the exotic only affected the voidwalker class.
I'm a little frustrated that they're messing with my PvE game because of Crucible balance. I get that they want consistent "feel" between the modes, but why should I carry less sniper ammo in the raid because they can't get the PvP ammo economy right?

I just had a random idea for destiny, and they are called weapon core shifters. they would change the elements of weapons. only legendaries, but they would be very difficult to acquire. any thoughts?

On the firebolt grenades, maybe a reduction in the range that the firebolt can reach on detonation would have helped? The damage over time is not the biggest problem really, it's the distance that thing can lick you from
So you can't nerf the Viking funeral warlock build because of how central it is to the class. But hammers were central to the sunbreaker class. The class is built around that super. And you nerfed the shit outta that.

As someone playing Warlock, I'm kinda torn on the patch. I usually run voidwalker for PvP, so I guess I'll wait for Bungie to actually tell us what they did rather than vague hints of buffs, but for trials, the self-rez is too good to not use it. Nerfed flameshield combined with nerf of Fireborn make that tricky, since that was the way to "clutch" a round of trials, Rez, punch a guy dead, use flameshield time to revive my buddies; That will probably get harder now. Obviously, since Trials is all about playing as cheap and positively cheaty as possible (looking at you Doctrine + Icebreaker, thank goodness for those nerfs), I did run Firebolts+Viking Funeral too, since it is a massive advantage. I like that combination, and why yes, it may be OP, as someone who actually gets to use them, post mortem burn kills are quite satisfying. Gives you that feeling that your death wasn't in vain.
Obviously, we haven't seen the full patch notes, but I was hoping for them to address some issues on Titans and Hunters. Mainly the fact that Shadestep can break the tracking of Axion bolts (that seems a bit too powerful, imo), and that Sunbreakers are the only class that needs a Spindle to die, everything else can be killed with a 1000yard.
Obviously that's me speaking as a Warlock, wanting for Bungie to make my life in the crucible easier =P
Weapon rebalances look pretty alright, Fusion Rifle buff has me interested to try them again, and Last Word and MIDA nerfs have me less frustrated.

I am interested to see if my Yasmin will be able to res-snipe with the shield power being reduced. The Yasmin was just a little short on power before, might be able to now.
The last time I played this game was when the last challenge for the hard mode was put out. I dont see the need to play if I dont have a raid. I am pve only and all these things dont effect it much but doesnt give me a fun god like feel anymore like I had in year one. All the work I put into year one beating all the pve stuff and able to show it off was the fun part. Not everything is normal and thats not fun.

***** They do care about pve that's why KF is being up to 335 and Poe is being added. You just enjoyed having ridiculous weapons to make the game really easy. That's not how a video game should play.
BosSox Poe is not end game content. I know this isnt a dlc update but having a higher light level for not real reason isnt worth putting out a new light level. I did enjoy the ridiculous weapons.

It's sad, but phobia the bigger part of the community. I just wanna run the nightfall but no, trials they scream, trials they whine. I play pvp more, but prefer pve activities with friends. Pve = less salt, you can't get angry with a dreg amirite

The hand cannon buff is very good. Hand cannons were almost unusable in strikes and such because they alway ran out of ammo
Yea I was thinking that when watching the stream. Are the revive gonna effect PvE too cause PvE players need the shield after revives cause of all the enemies Bungie throws at you. Bladerdancer might be coming back in PvE though with the long invis

@Datto: With the nerf to overshields in terms of revives and flame shield do you think overshields got a nerf across the board?
That is, would things like force barrier on the defender titan now also be weaker or is it limited to those two scenarios?

At this point I'm wondering if we'll be getting new Trials of Osiris weapons alongside the new armor. There's always the chance the new armor is specifically obtained from the Mercury Chest, though.

my thought on thorn is they might bring it forward later on maybe in year 3, but I feel like they are using the year 1 version of it to try and balance it out, just my thought
I wished they fixed the hit registration for blade and hammer. But I thought you won't get ammo if you switch from icebreaker and sidearm instead of all special weapons. I'm a bit worried about that. If I ran a shotgun, and I cannot close the gap, I want to run a sniper to even my odds. Now if I switch, I have to wait for special ammo, or try to rely on a scout rifle and challenge with it.
Hopefully it takes some time to hit the new max light level. After hitting the old cap, I didn't really have much motivation to play anymore.
so i know we dont have patch notes but.... when they changed scopes do you think they remembered the weapons that have short zooms standard (yasmine and stillpiercer come to mind).

I feel like they could have made touch of flame/viking funeral only proc while radiance is active and make flame shield only proc on kills rather than hits. Kinda like force barrier on defender titans.

Can they buff some of the warlock grenades not the sunsinger but the void walker and stormcaller grenades. Looking at arc bolt and axion bolt grenade. They do not do enough damage.
Honestly, to me the only real change I would like to see work in with Sunsigners, in regards to the firebolt burn, is having viking funeral be a perk activated on super like unstoppable. It would keep the complaints of constantly having to deal with a firebolt taking you out of the fight until you even have a chance to regenerate, it would make the Sunsinger feel more special and the super itself would feel more powerful as you have the super active. Another is maybe just having the burn deal out its full damage over 3 or 4 ticks instead of what it is now. You still take the full damage, but you start regenerating sooner.
Are special Ammo changes happening everywhere except mayhem. Or just in 3v3 gametypes?

The official weapons workbench update said they put zoom adjustments on weapons without scope adjustments. so stillpiercer, def of Yasmin , hereafter and patience and time. does that mean they boosted the zoom on all of them. 3/4 had pretty deep zooms already. yeesh
what about warlock melee range? do people not think it's a little too high?
So that's the new zoom of shortgaze they were showing? That's not so bad. Looks like only a .5x increase.
I coming back to Destiny finally! It was and still is one of my favourite games but I didn't want to dry out on it so I took a well needed break.
Hopefully I'll won't be terrible when I come back I want to go flawless in trials I miss pvp

Nah I doubt it, I took a break from this game during House of Wolves for a long time and came back to TTK and still loved the game. I love the grind for some reason
All of the things that I use in the crucible were buffed. I am very happy.
At 7:22 a void walker grenade kill triggered life steal. Has it always happened like that? I think it didn't and it's an awesome change if it really works like that imo.
and at 11:17 it's triggered on hit O_o i think i just found my new favourite subclass.

I wonder if all snipers can res snipe now that you have less health upon revive. This could change everything when it comes to snipers being used then. Could open them all up
Some may be able to but there will probably still be a few that cannot res snipe. Remember they also nerfed spam reviving so res sniping will be less of an issue anyways.

plan and simple... remove touch of flame. make it so solar grenade is the only one with DoT. Make viking a damage increase of the hit, meaning firebolt get 10% damage buff and the only way fusion kill on stick.
and make sunsinger a medic/support class again.
Was hoping they would give Sunbreakers a very small buff, because Striker has just overpowered them now. Though everyone on stream was playing as a Warlock so we don't know if they're nerfed/buffed anything else yet ;)
Also, I think Voidwalkers will become the new Sunsingers... Even with their firebolt grenades, a Voidwalker running double life steal will be OP. Unless you're running double scatter, in which case they'll still be OP.

I'm pretty happy with most of the changes coming, aside from the Firebolt stuff. Pumped to start using my Thesan some more, along with my old favorite autos.
Have you ever used fire bolt gernades? They are really weak. To use firebolt the burn is the only way to go. I like fusion gernades better cause I have a 100% stick rate with me but I see why firebolt wasn't messed with. If you get rid of Viking funeral and the other one you need to really change the sub class totally and bring up the firebolt damage a ton.
I agree, that's actually the problem I have with it, with the burn, it's very obnoxious to play against. And even then, it's really only because the tracking on it is too strong. If it acted a little more like the axion bolt, I'd be fine with it.
+Philip Chambers I could understand them not showing the warlock the number ticks but still having the ticks go off. I use the burn in Iron Banner esp when Titan Sunbreakers were OP. I never tracked people through walls I used the burn to bum rush a people with no shield to mow them down. The sunsinger is totally built around getting grenade back fast become harder to kill or helping allies get gernades and melee back faster and damage over time, or you go for 2 grenade and then everyone bitch about how they and 3 people get killed by 2 back to back fire bolt grenade. I have people bitching at me for killing them and there friends with 2 fusion grenades. Sometimes I feel people just like to bitch cause when it is a true problem 70-90% of the community is in agreement like when sunbreakers were to OP and bladedancer could razor through titan bubbles.
I'm fine with the burn, except maybe just make it not last quite as long, but what I meant by tracking was how the grenade itself is used. If it's anywhere near you, it just shoots out and you, that's my biggest problem with it. I definitely understand the utility behind the build, and I'm okay with their reasoning behind it, I just want to be able to actually escape from a Firebolt if I see it coming.

Why not just reduce the initial damage on the firebolt Nade when the person runs touch of flame and Viking funeral? Or have the burn last for less ticks or have it where it doesn't chain just like they did to arc bolt grenades for the hunter

I would have liked to have seen titan skating and twilight garrison toned down, and a slight buff to sunbreaker. Same with shadestep and smokes. I kid you not I saw this one guy shadestep up from a box to the top of the bridge on Frontier the last time it was the Trials map.
Surprise they didn't try decreasing the range of the Fire Bolt.

I play sunsinger and agree it would destroy the subclass. Perhaps rebuilding would be an idea. Maybe have a more offensive ability for the sunsinger super which allows the burn from Viking funeral be part of it. Or perhaps u can come up with some ideas Datto ?
Or maybe they could've just reduced the DoT time the burn has, just like they did to Thorn. I don't see why they didn't do it tbh.

I dont like the sniper nerve but I do understand it because in thing like trials the whole gamemode was about it. now it gives room to use other things more often. but I have a feeling trials is now only going to be about the no land beyond.
Stillpiercer is going to be the best choice considering its scope isn't getting nerf, and it isn't getting an additional ammo nerf like thousand yard stare.
Warlock without "viking funeral build:"
-- a hit with a melee will provides 15 or so seconds with extra health (no kill required such as on defender)
-- the ability to comeback to life and potentially sway the outcome of any pvp or pve encounter
-- 55% damage reduction with max armor and radiant skin (removed from sun breaker)
-- an exotic armor (the Ram) that grants additional armor, further improving survivability from the meta.
^I think they're pretty well off with that stuff^ and they still have a lot more.
*if viking funeral lasted just as long but did less damage, as an example nerf, they would still be able to prevent people from regen-ing shields for a longer time than it takes to respawn!*
all of this and at the same time, titans and hunters get no fixes to hit registration and hunters (as far as we know) may still be able to shade step out of grenades. But hey at least titans get a unique ground slam ability! *oh wait*
since the shields are lower off of revive, won't there be more snipers that kill off of rez?
I would imagine so. Here's hoping the Hereafter and Defiance of Yasmin can kill through the res shield. :)
As a warlock main I'm glad they didn't over nerf them and I think the changes to Stormcaller were really fair since it was op. I'm also happy fusion, pulse rifles and hand cannons are slightly getting buffed.
The hand cannon was more for PvE (assuming you play mostly pvp)
Firebolts will still be a problem no doubt about it though.
