    Thank you so much!!! I'm so grateful. The instructions i recieved was just two drawings of an already built structure. It didn't even explain the middle bit. I built one with your video and was so happy with it, I bought a bigger one. If I had space, I'd buy another 2 lol!!!

    Thank you for posting this. I bought StorageWorks 5 tier shelving that didn’t come with instructions. The only pieces I didn’t know about were the cross shelf pieces. Bend the tabs for middle support!! And Done!!!

      ***** You're welcome Marcin, I really cannot stress how baffled by the assembly, if it wasn't for your video I think it was going to be sent back. I have just spent almost an hour (I need to practice to get up to your impressive timings) and I am very pleased with the results now. HUGE THANKS again, keep up the good work.

    Held together with gravity! Awesome! Except if you have an uneven surface! Which I do. It fell apart at least half a dozen times before I wised up and put some heavy stuff on the bottom shelf to keep it together. Gravity is great for keeping me on Planet Earth, but there is a reason that most furniture uses screws, nails and bolts. Now my stuff is on the shelf and I am scared to take the stuff off.

    • @Maraggie
      @Maraggie  8 років тому

      +Brewster Scott Ouch! Sound like you had a tough time. I can imagine that uneven surface throws it out of balance all together.Tell you what, after quite some time now, I do see that gravity effect taking it's toll on mine too. Bottom is touching the wall, top...not so much anymore. :) I try not to put too much heavy stuff on it on top so it doesn't all fold itself happily. All the best.

      Just build it half way up twice and stand next to each other. There's no way to connect them together that I can see.

    Brilliant video but I have a question. The supports under each shelf bend in to place as shown but what is the drilled hole on each support for? There doesn’t appear to be a purpose; nor for the similar sized holes on the top and bottom of the frames. Please would you be so kind as to explain? Thank you very much.

    • @Maraggie
      @Maraggie  6 років тому +1

      I have you be honest, I've absolutely no idea :)
      4 year on, they're still as good as they came.

    • @languageoffootball
      @languageoffootball 6 років тому

      Maraggie yes I thought that perhaps some of the parts are used in other products where those holes are utilised but I thought I best check with the expert in case I was missing something. Thanks for confirming that you have no idea either. Good to hear re. their longevity too. 👍🏼

    • @Maraggie
      @Maraggie  6 років тому +1

      Well There's a ton of stuff that I hung off them exactly like that...by using all the random holes they got. Quite useful. :)

      I believe they are there so you can use bolts to attach completed shelving units together side by side, adding stability, or you can screw the back into a wall.

    The boltless shelving I got has different shaped holes on the uprights - like a key hole - does it matter which way up I start? Also the video doesn't show a close up of slotting the horizontal bars into the uprights - I don't want to get it wrong and have to try and take it apart. Can anyone explain this part to me please?

    • @Maraggie
      @Maraggie  4 роки тому +1

      Hello. If you have a keyhole shaped slot, it sounds like the bigger bit should be on top... so you put the part in and slide it down towards the narrower bit to lock it in place.

    Any way to add doors to these so you don't see the contents?

    • @Maraggie
      @Maraggie  5 років тому

      Not that I know of. You could cover sides and add doors to the front but I'd probably opt for buying something that already has doors. Recycled office cupboards spring to mind. Plenty on ebay.

    Has anyone done a load test on these units?

    • @Maraggie
      @Maraggie  4 роки тому

      Can't say I have but I had loads of stuff on them in the past including oils etc and it never buckled. I never had them secured to the wall so I kept the really heavy stuff away, just in case.

      @@sofosstudent Ah I see. I bought 3 more from a different place last year and the quality of the mounting slots does vary sometimes. Mind you the nerwer ones were actually a better fit than the old ones. I guess it can be a bit of a lottery when buying these.

    these shelves are garbage, don't waste your money on them, mine are going back tomorrow

    • @Maraggie
      @Maraggie  8 років тому

      +D. Reichert HI. What happened to yours? Anything I can do to prevent the same from happening? I got quite a lot of weight on mine, lots of stuff I'd rather not damage if they fail.

    • @Hoss_1966
      @Hoss_1966 8 років тому +2

      +Maraggie I find them to be flimsy, and a pain to assemble, nothing locks together, so they fall apart when you are assembling them and when you try to move them around, then slots never lined up properly had to use a screwdriver to bend open the slots so the tabs will align, not impressed

    • @Maraggie
      @Maraggie  8 років тому +2

      +D. Reichert I sure can appreciate the pain of putting these together :). They lose the flimsiness once connected up and with some weight on them. I have 3 in total - 2 in garage and 1 in my office/workshop, since May 2014 so a good year and a half. No problems apart from slight bending of one but that's my fault for putting too much crap on it and in retrospect, I should really connect them up to the wall for when I distribute the weight unevenly. But hey ho :)
