My husband is recovering from a triple bypass. He had surgery 2-1-24. We’re going to have to get help to plant our garden. We got a lot of seeds from Hoss Tools. Can’t wait to get our garden planted. It looks like I may be doing a lot of it. My husband is going to have to show me what to do. Please keep him in your prayers. Thank you. We pray for both of you and anyone that needs prayers 🙏🙏🙏. God bless each and every one of you 🙏
I have a large pot like that. I took the plastic off last week & it is covered in carrots. I have never grown carrots & we, (my bunnies & I) are hoping they do well.🤩
Morning Danny and Wanda. The carrots leaves are so green but definitely got some baby carrots and food for the animals to enjoy too. I'm encouraged to grow carrots soon. I hope to start some in containers indoors since too cold for the outdoor building yet. Thanks for sharing 😀
Still good to eat and the leaves look 🥕🥕 I plant my the same in the giant tubes .. I was gifted like 9 of them I totally love them I don’t have grass so I use containers
Nice! My carrot seeds just broke thru soil yesterday 👍🏻 I’m doing a “root” garden with radishes, beets and carrots alongside onion starts. What a delight to see spring growth! (And yes, Vego bed! another one growing just salad greens). Those will be some happy 🐇🐇 bunnies with carrot tops.
I have about 5 containers of carrots that look beautiful as well thanks to Deep South Homestead videos. Our rabbits and us as well are enjoying the harvest. Thank you Danny and Wanda.
It's raining here in Texas, and the video sounded like what it did before the rains came. Hoping you get a good quality of rain this week. Good harvest from your carrot bed. Love your channel and be blessed.
Folks, you have got to watch some of Danny's videos on growing carrots. I was never able to get a very good crop until after trying some of Danny's methods
I bought huge carrots from a grocery store once and cut them off and dehydrated. Then took the remainder of those root at the top and replanted it back in it's spot. Months later I went and pulled it out again, and the carrot had added a bunch more root at the bottom again. I pulled it again and cut off that new growth and ate that carrot again. The top part of the root doesn't look pretty at all, but I can still get food off the existing plant.
Thank you so much Danny. I need to get the carrot manual (I have the other two). With 125# carrots needed this summer, I'll be growing in several areas on my property.
Ms Wanda & Mr Danny I'm loving all the amazing extra videos between Deep South, Pecan Grove & patron! I can really tell Ms. Wanda is feeling so much better love you guys you both are like the relatives I wish I had
hi mr danny and ms wanda 🤗 those carrots look good to eat - straight, crooked, curved and the green tops too (i cook a bit in my rice - mmm, mmm good). i grow everything in raised beds, grow bags, buckets, planter pots, gallon jugs and even small water bottles (flowers, herbs). i dont understand the polarizing controversy with electroculture. it's one thing to not like something but i have seen some extremely negative videos on the topic. copper wound around bamboo rods has worked for me, so i continue to use them. if it didn't work, i just wouldn't use it. no need to bash the technique or the people who have positive results. we all have more important things to do. please continue to show us your abundant harvests in your electroculture spaces. have a blessed day.
Danny, all my orange carrots did that. Not all, but, most. The ones that so far have done really well are the blackish purple ones. I think they were nebulas?? They did great!! Even with the two very hard freezes we had. It's weird. Some of them I put in a pot roast in the crock pot. They turned everything purple. The potatoes and onions turned purple too. It was interesting eating. LOL But, very tasty.
We once planted carrots in a 5’ x16’ raised bed that grew cherry tomatoes the year before. Emerging tomatoes look like emerging carrots. We had to let the tomatoes get to 5” or 6” tall to easily tell them from carrots. It took 2 or 3 hours and we nearly filled 2-5 gallon buckets with tomato plants. A planting mistake we will not forget. Duane
I grew mine in a raised bed and planted them thick like you did. We’ve gotten 2 big harvests from them and I still have one to go. I’m hoping to pull what I have left this week because I have tomatoes that need that box. Our chickens get the greens and the tiny carrots. Overall, I am very happy with what we grew. Freeze got ours also. God Bless!
Great video! Just a suggestion, I know you both have mentioned low views on the Pecan Grove channel. I think your logo has something to do with that. It's very hard to see it, it blends in with the back ground. I think if you colored in your logo with the same colors, as your Deep South channel, orange, green, and black, It would be more recognizable. I am subscribed to both channels, but the only reason I notice the Pecan Grove videos, is because Danny is usually on the thumbnail. Sorry for the rambling, just thought I would mention it. Love all of your content.😊
That pot looks like the same depth as the 40-gallon Rubbermaid troughs that I have grown really nice carrots in before. There's something about this specific size I think that is really good for carrots. Maybe just because it felt manageable. Thinning a whole big row or large patch in the ground is miserable. But working on a container this size especially when it is up higher is doable. I always tell myself just work on it for 15 or 20 minutes and come back to it. Before you know it, it's done. It has to get done if you want any good carrots at all.
I sowed some carrots for the first time last week. It may have been a little late, but I wanted to try. I will try again in the fall. I sowed them in a washtub. We'll see what happens.
They will get your dill and parsley too. Happens every year. Carrot tops are a good substitute for Parsley. I guess that is why the butterfly worms come after them.
I find thinning carrots to be tedious. So this year, in one of the pots, I carefully planted each seed a good distance from each other. Well wouldnt you know, those carrots are growing at half the rate of the pot I just carelessly threw them in. Guess I’ll be thinning anyway.
my carrots didnt germ , guess I'm buying carrots this year,,, Am gonna try grow some seed from a store bought... must have let it get to dry.... to hot for march
@@pecangrovems I wonder how I can get rid of the wire worms? I think they came in either Irish, or sweet potatoes. They’re click beetle larvae, but they prevent me from growing potatoes, or something similar.

I had three tubs of carrots that got frozen and one is beginning to look like that one, but the others are a bit behind it.
I grew carrots for the first time last year and made the most delicious carrot cake Ive ever had. Hoping I can get an even better harvest this year.

Yup , something happened to my carrots, I just pulled all of them, and I am enjoying them . They're delicious regardless.
I have some in containers and some in the raised bed. Both look pretty good but we’ll see how big when pulled!😊❤🙏🏻✨
I highly recommend Danny’s Carrot manual. It’s step by step with photos that are super helpful. Thanks for the gardening tips. Take care.

YES!
I need to try carrots. I thank you for encouraging us to try new things.

I have several containers to plant sweet potatoes into this year, carrots is a good idea also
❤I want to plant some in a container now! 🥕🥕🥕🥰🤗😋🥕🥕🥕
Looking good! Mother loves carrots and I want to grow some for her this year. Waiting for my soil sample results to arrive and then I’ll plant some.

🙏🙏🙏🙂🕊♥️👍 I will be planning some in a 1/2 55 gallon barrel
You can eat the tops of the carrots too .. dry then use in soups very nutritious❤
Thanks for the reminder I need to check my carrots
Thank you so much Danny. I need to get the carrot manual (I have the other two). With 125# carrots needed this summer, I'll be growing in several areas on my property.
We have been growing carrots in a root pouch this year and they are doing wonderful. Thank y'all for sharing. Have a blessed day.
Makes a beautiful plant to look at
You have taught me how to grow carrots this year… I am so proud of my little carrots
I been eating those little carrots
They are so sweet … I have 3 tubs of little carrots and my chickens and ducks have been getting the tops
And I have sum of the copper coils from HILLS Mill Homestead in my carrots too

I bought your “CARROT MANUAL”..
I feel I have gotten better on growing carrots 🥕 🥕🥕🥕🥕

Good video. My carrots here in Florida are small and covered in hairs. I guess that cold weather didn't help them at all but will keep trying
Does the actual carrot grow along the main root line 🤔. Good luck they look beautiful 😍.
I plant carrots in my containers up by the greenhouse everywhere and potatoes. I have 10 raised beds to plant in also.

Tomatoes and carrots grow well together.
I grew all my carrots in my Greenstalk last year and it was perfect.
How nice! Wonderful
Looks great yawl.. God bless.
Big carrot tops! Rabbits will love you.😊
My green bean plants are covered with flowers.
Waiting with fork 🍽️ in hand ... Love love love green beans 🫘🫘 💚
Good morning again from Georgia.
Love the 🥕 thank you and Wanda. I learn every time I watch your videos
Low 20s tonight and hopefully the last real cold weather is finished for the season. Fingers crossed 🤞 Be blessed ❤🌿
Yeah saw y'all were getting some heavy weather.

You can plant tomatoes in the carrots helps repel insects and improves the taste.
@@pecangrovems thank you!!

Ima need that book too
I don't bash electroculture i use it every year with great results.
Beautiful carrot tops. Animals will love them. What is growing in the Greenstalk behind you ?
Strawberry
Thanks!
I enjoy carrots alot so this year I will try some in pots.
My carrots were about 1 inch long last year.
Holy cow look at them carrots
Can you please explain the rod and what it does. I have never seen anything like that. Thank you

Good morning again, lucky day again!
Danny's carrot manual is great! Thanks for sharing your wisdom.
My carrots did that also and when I planted in tubs was my best.

Carrots are biannual.
My carrots did the same thing! Thank you for sharing!! God Bless y'all!!
P.S. Love your current manual! Very informative!
Great video
Thanks!
The green topps work great in a pesto!
Wabbit food. . .
Looks like a fern!
Danny says lets be easy pulling the carrot and continues to yank and wiggle it vigorously!😮 😅
How would you eat carrot tops? Salad, stir fry, wilted with butter?
All the above.
My carrots are so tiny, but two more freezes tonight and Tuesday.
I always see those Swallow Worms on my carrots? A real pretty worm that grows into a butterfly? Anyways, I never kill them, I just brush them away.
They will get your dill and parsley too. Happens every year. Carrot tops are a good substitute for Parsley. I guess that is why the butterfly worms come after them.
Hairy carrots can also mean over fertilizing.

they coming up now...not alot but some
Name of the carrot seed you used thanks 😊

Will wire worms attack carrots?
Not really carrot maggots will.
@@pecangrovems I wonder how I can get rid of the wire worms? I think they came in either Irish, or sweet potatoes. They’re click beetle larvae, but they prevent me from growing potatoes, or something similar.
How deep are your tubs… tia
Around 24 inches.

I cannot grow carrots or radishes. Just the greens.
😳❤️🤤👍👍👍😁!
All top carrots, lol
The hair roots mean they lack water.
They come on if they begin to get to old. I've been doing this for over thirty years.
Didn’t work for me …..
Better to sow seed in the garden….
Carrots for me is a combination of fine soil and the right moisture. Not something I plant every year
It's super simple.
