Excellent video!👍🙂 When I became interested in silversmithing, I did a lot of research and decided fusing Argentium and 999 Fine Silver was a better place for me to start out because the thought of using solder intimidated me. I use solder now when working with 925 sterling or copper but I really love 935 Argentium Silver and 999 Fine Silver because they're easily fused, there's less clean-up, and they're both resistant to tarnishing.❤️
I'm not a professional but in what little experience I have as a hobbyist, I think fusing is easiest with Argentium and definitely easier with 999 Fine silver but 999 Fine Silver is soft so you have to be somewhat selective in the jewelry pieces you make from it. For example, earrings made from 999 Fine silver are great because they won't get a lot of wear-and-tear in your ears; whereas, a ring made of 999 Fine Silver might be too soft and easily dinged and dented depending on how much one uses their hands. I love working with Argentium and Fine Silver.👍
To give credit where credit is due, thats a trick i learned from Ronda Coryell during one of her classes.
