  • What's up my peeps! I have been working on the hot rod and trying to get this Westcott CNC plasma table up and running. Everything is rolling right along...the Bibbster is getting close to firing it up and the plasma table is now moving. I hope to get this stuff refined and start making some rad stuff.

I laughed when I saw all the smoke on the ceiling. Been there, done that too many times. But with my upgraded spray room (14' x 22') I can turn the 34" ducted fan on and within minutes clear my 6, 280 sq. ft. shop of that smoke. I am concerned about the foam insulation - I think it'd be best to cover that with either flame proof sheetrock or even sheet metal. That foam will look terrible after a while. But hey, this guy knows what he's doing for sure - I'm betting he's already 5 steps ahead with plans to address that. Thanks for another great video!

    Sweet buy! 😍
For knocking off the slag/dross, I used to use a 4" masonry chisel - it made the job much faster.
I'm not currently in the market ($$$) but I have been looking at water jet tables, simply because of the ability to cut other materials such as plastic and wood.

Congrats on a table. I ran a PlasmaCAM in my garage for 6 years, I remember that good ole orange smoke, it used to billow out the garage door haha. I ended up doing a water table and a down draft together and eliminated the smoke. The time spent tuning your cut speed, nozzle height will make the dross 95% fall or or be non existent. The rest you can use a metal putty knife and tap it with a hammer or a knotted wire cup on a grinder is a great option

4" masonry chisel works well, too - and it's able to take a lot more force.

Go ahead and get you a magnetic vice now. Best thing since sliced bread for cleaning dross off parts and either da’ing them or hitting them with the sct tool with a black stripping drum, which is my go-to

Forgot, with the skates, rather than just have something to sit under the wheels, make up some supports that pick up under the chassis - that way you can move it around when it doesn't have wheels, or even suspension, on the chassis.

Great part and for first cut looks super should watch Make it Kustom he does cool designs he would have made that in one part but with cuts so when it is bent it is still a sharp corner less clean up and less welding But you do you cause you are way smart enough to figure it out Also super machine Cannot imagine what one would need that big of a table for but I don’t use one so there you go

Just got my 4x4 running and love it. Out of curiosity… Why didn’t you just make it one piece and bend the top with the KillFab logos? Saves on welding.

Bending one piece was my first thought, but when I heard him say he'd probably tig weld, well, that's when I realized he was going for that 'industrial' fabricator look. If he's going to sell them, he'd save on packaging with a flat pak envelope, plus it would give consumers a chance to show of their dime stack welding techniques. I'd buy two (I have a dozen air tools set up with different cutters, discs, diamond tooling, etc. so I'd need a couple. Count me in as one of your first buyers of this product when available! I'm soon in the market for my own plasma table, but I like to endorse those who entertain, teach and share their techniques and knowledge on their channels. Great video!

I would build a room around your table with a exhaust fan.My metal walls in my shop stay brown and I have a water table.Your spray foam will turn brown and you will have a dust coat on all your vehicles.I don't have the room you have but I intend on building a enclosure with a exhaust around mine.

guess your next tool needs to be a brake so you can cut it in 1 piece and bend it at a 90? hah. I would love to have one of those plasma tables...or even a plasma cutter itself. Speeds things up a lot.

Very nice table. I suggest you join the plasma spider forum. There’s some very experienced plasma table builders and operators that share plenty of knowledge on there. I know people bash down draft tables, I too have a water table, but I’ve never seen an exhaust fan that big on a plasma table before. It looks like it should do the job of removing smoke and dust effectively. Still wouldn’t be a bad idea to hang some curtains though. If you get into cutting pretty regularly and pushing out a lot of kits, parts, etc. just do yourself a favor and build a separate wing off the shop for plasma production. Your shop is way too nice for plasma production work.

45 amp fine cut should give you the best cut quality. Make sure your air is around 110psi to the back of the powermax put a T on the back of the inlet port with a gauge to make sure you don't drop below that during refill of the tank. I have built a 5x20 table and a 5x10. On your Quincy and at the bottom of your copper setup put an automatic blow off valve. When you do get the downdraft setup if you can zone it do it. Put a drop down to block off half the table that's not being used and it will work REALLY well. I hate downdraft personally and stuck to water. Have fun.

    • @Thefabforums

I do so much aluminum that water didnt make sense for me. The downdraft setup for this table moves a ton of air but will keep the sectioning in mind incase its needed.

@@Thefabforums I hope the one you have is well beyond 3000cfm. I absolutely hate dust. 1% is too much for me. Also that dust is abrasive so when it gets on your beautiful rides it does all it can do to scratch it when coming off. Nasty crap. Also flashcut is amazing what you are running there. Great program. Hope they put clearpath at a minimum on it.

It looks super nice but, you probably could have saved quite a bit of space and time, plus simplified the wiring by using a pdm like Racepak's Smartwire. Would have eliminated most of the extra bulk and the physical use of relays and fuses.

If you’re going to run a downdraft table… You need to block out the rest of the table with some scrap metals so that way it sucks to smoke down from where you are cutting. If you have a fan hook up to that table it’s just gonna suck from the free space and never suck out your smoke.

    • @Thefabforums

Even with a down draft exhaust setup your gonna want to build a room around that table even if it's just tarps hanging would be better than nothing. That plasma dust will settle everywhere and will ruin a nice paint job. Don't ask me how I know...
