My son and I built a 4 x8 table a couple years ago. I was thinking 4x4 but my son insisted on a 4x8. I’m glad we did it. So nice to be able to put full sheets on or what we do is keep different thickness smaller pieces on . We do a lot of small jobs of different thickness so we don’t have to keep changing sheets on the table.. we just stage smaller sheets at different locations around the table. Hardest part for me was getting my 63 year old brain to learn the software.lol can’t wait to see it going.

this will be one of the best tools in the shop, i got mine about a year ago and it makes life so much easier i can draw up and cut a simple part like a square plate with 4 holes faster than cutting it out with a grinder and drilling the holes

Have you checked out Bunker Branding from the UA-cam channel Demolition Ranch. Him and his wife have a small business they operate out of Texas and do a bunch of merchandise for several large UA-cam channels. Might be a decent solution for your shirts and whatnot.
On another note I ran a plasma table (Plasma Systems Inc) for a while out of Houston for a metal building company. Also ran their long seam sub arc system to make the beams for buildings. My uncle also worked for iPlasmaCNC (i think) out of the DFW area selling CNC cut tables. That's a good looking table you got though.

So happy for you Kyle you have been wanting to get one for years, you spoke of how you wished to get one some day when you were still working in your old shop and mentioned it again when you revealed your new shop and the layout of where you wanted stuff to go, If i remember you wanted the plasma table in the corner where your cool new compressor is now when you showed the layout drawings of the new shop. Im just super happy for you all your hard work and time has paid off. Can wait to see your new kill fab products, keep up the awsome content cant wait for the next video drop how to see how you put the table altogether.

Kyle, trust me it won't take you very long at all to be saying to yourself "Man I'm glad I got the 5'x10' 1st and foremost the bigger sheet that you buy your Material in, the more Economical it is. Not to mention, when you need to cut big Pieces or lots of smaller pieces, it just makes more sense. I've always lived by the rule of Bigger is Better when it comes to almost anything but especially, when it comes to Machines, Engines, Horsepower, etc, etc.
Love your idea of being able to make yourself a small enclosure to put on top of the Table and also use it as a Downdraft Paint Booth for Smaller pieces. Anytime you can get rid of Fumes, Dust, & Smoke, then you're just making your workspace Healthier, thuse increasing your life expectancy.
Hoping you next Video Drop is that Big Bad Bitch in action cutting some Metal.
Congratulations on the Machine! Happy to see you get it. That's gonna be my next major purchase for my Shop. I've got 3 Major Machine purchases coming in the next 24 months 1st a CNC Plasma Table, 2nd a Precision Mathews 16x60 Lathe, then 3rd a CNC Milling Machine. I'm like you, people never meet my expectations, so I'd just as soon Fab everything myself. It kills my Soul to have to pay someone else to do something that I'm capable of doing myself, and doing it better.
Keep up the good work Brother!

BRO! I feel ya on the product expectations. Stuff never meets my standards, or so it feels. Nothing I have ever ordered from overseas has matched what I expected. Or ordered for that matter. Everyone wants to cut corners, maximize profit, blah freaking blah. Always ends in a poor quality product, or an investment that never pans out because it's not close enough to my standards to resell.

@@Thefabforums don’t take this the wrong way but with that kind of attitude then your right, you won’t like em! But let me tell ya, there’s probly a huge number of your subs that are also subs of his or his sons and I bet a third of your subs have probly bought shirts that Gina and her crew in Kentucky have made and the quality is far above the average out here!! Bill did a video with her and her shirt and merch operation somewhere around the first of the year and it may not hurt you to take a look at it before you form judgement upon someone that’s like you and spent years building a solid business with a great reputation.
Your gonna find that as you grow, you can not do it all yourself! You can try all you want, but your quality will suffer as well or you’ll get so far behind on orders that you will upset your base to where they just go elsewhere. It’s up to you as a customer of the shirt factory or whoever does your shirts eventually to set that quality expectation from the start and they will either hit it or not and the relationship either continues or not, it’s really that simple. If you do not set your quality expectations up front, then you get what you get and don’t have any business to complain about it.
Go watch the video of her shop, you never know, she may just impress the hell out of you! I’m picky as hell and I’ve got a half dozen hoodies and t-shirts that she did an outstanding job on. Bill and his Family have a combined 400k subs roughly and they sell a lot of merch and I have not heard anyone unhappy yet. But lifts also remember brother, let’s be realistic on stuff and remember we are talking shirts here and not oil pump gears ⚙️ or other parts that have critical tolerances. 99% of your buyers will not be as critical as you for a t-shirt cause we are gonna wear it in the shop, the baby or grand baby is gonna puke on us etc! It’s just a shirt! As you grow, you need to partner with other quality minded teams to ease your load otherwise your entire operation will suffer and I’m speaking from experience here man. I used to be you, In your shoes, thinking I can do it better than everyone, which I did for a good while until I started expanding and growing and then you slowly start sliding backwards where you can’t do any of your operation and meet deadlines like you used too. Think about it. It all starts with your initial expectations of whoever you’ve partnered with!!
Enough with the lecture now. Since you’ve done precut kits in the past for various things for consumers to buy and assemble themselves, have you considered doing any cooking grill kits at all? Cut the steel and ship it so we can weld it at home and finish how we want? May be a good market.
Anyways, good luck on everything and I wasn’t trying to come down on you but just open your eyes a bit is all. I believe in ya but we all have that point where we need help. We can’t do it all ourselves forever. I’m twice your age and still paying the price today for having that mindset for so long.
      Take care and be safe!

    • @Thefabforums
      @Thefabforums  2 роки тому +1

My comment wasnt a reflection on the quality of shirts they produce, more on my own weird OCD when it comes to tees. The company I currently use has some of the best quality tees available and yet I tend to find something I dont like. 😉

Plasma tables are over rated in my opinion. Most people cant afford them and all they do is cut. I have converted a 3d printer to a cnc cutting table and it uses salt water and electricity. You can reverse the polarity and pump a metal slurry with the salt water and 3d print metal as well. It was only about $200 for the printer and about $100 more for the modifications.
