  • A look around the site of the former Moffat Station, which served the Scottish spa town of Moffat.
It was open between 1883 and 1954 (passengers) and 1964 (goods) and was the terminus of the 3km long Moffat branch. This left the West Coast mainline at Beattock Station.
Today, the station site is covered by a garage, Co-op Supermarket and the attractive Station Park. There was also a hotel built on the goods yard site after closure which has been recently demolished. But if you look closely, there are remains including bridge abutments, sections of platform, embankments and a well preserved toilet block.
