I just hope you're video doesn't encourage the idiots to start breaking in. The proprietor Trevor Harley was a bitvof a local legend and a great help to me as a young lad fixing and restoring old cars. Where else would you get a Viva throttle cable on Christmas morning😊? He had a reputation for being expensive and whilst he did have his own "special" way of working the VAT out - with a pencil on the back of a bit of card, he was also very generous when he got to know you. I "hired" many special tools from him, my details would be meticulously written in a ledger book but he would never actually charge me when I returned them. Many the time he would give me the bit of hose I needed or other small item, waving away payment he would give a little smile and tell me "it's your birthday". Trevor Harley, always "Mr. Harley" to me as a lad. True gentleman from a bygone age.

My Grandad was the station Master at Banks station! loved staying there they had a lovely little house on the station it was exciting staying there when I was a child!

Used to visit Glasson Dock quite often as a child in the late 50s and early 60s and always hoped to see a steam locomotive on the line but only ever saw the occasional truck near the dock. After 60 years of closure and its exposed location it's surprising anything survives.

I used to buy parts for my Vauxhall Chevette and other cars from there. He knew where everything was and all his prices were “plus VAT”. I remember going in one time towards the end and said that I heard that he had died, his reply was “Yes, I heard that rumour too”!

Really interesting video. My gt grandfather was killed there in 1912. He slipped from a ladder going from one level to another and fell through the roof.

I grew up close to here in the 80's, further along there is a split from the older railway track to helmshore ' the old lines we called them'. I was a young teenager when the track re opened. We got told off many times to stop playing on the railway track.. yet we had spent years playing on them.😊

If only the council and the Rail company finally get there act together and reinstate the Colne to Skipton line Nelson would once again be a main line station..

Another soggy day! The line to Colne deserves more than an hourly service. It is good that the lovely cast ironwork of the trainshed survives and has not been demolished and replaced by a "bus shelter". Keep 'em coming.

In 1973 when I was a16 years old apprentice at BNFL , there was a lad whos surname was Harley and came from Mold , I know that it was either his father ,or grandfather that owned that garage ,sadly I can't remember his first name.

Been past this garage many a time, but never stopped to have a look, the next time i'm in Mold I will take a look. The Morris Marina and the Austin/Morris 1100/1300 are worth saving its a shame to see these cars waste away. Tesco on the old site of Mold railway station, part of the Wrexham, Mold and Connha's Quay railway. Great video take care

Thank you for this video, I can't believe the blue Porsche 911 Targa was my mums old car from years ago. I have heard many stories about this car from trips to France to living with it in south-east London in the 1990s. the last Information I had on the Porsche was that it was being sold as a shell without an engine and gearbox as it was damaged in a fire in 1998. Fantastic to see that it has been fully restored with the original number plate 1147 FM.
