Exploring Ice Caves Lake Superior

  • Spent an hour with the family exploring the ice caves on the north shore of Lake Superior at Sawpit Bay. These are created by the waves pounding the shore in sub zero temperatures before the bay freezes later in the season. If you get a chance to check out this type of magic especially with little ones it is well worth it. Always play safe on ice.

    Magical! I love Superior! I should visit more often (and fish it). I was born in Thunder Bay and live about 2 hours west these days.
