Those features of Catholicism developed over centuries and aren't present in the Bible. Catholics sometimes talk as if their Tradition is a body of knowledge passed on orally from Christ, but this isn't true. All Catholics need to do to prove that idea is to quote some sayings of Christ - in verbatim preserved form - that we know only from Tradition. Obviously, this kind of Tradition (a preserved oral tradition) doesn't exist.
Tradition to Catholics really means the set of documents, liturgies, art, institutional policies, and even cuisine that the Church has evolved over thousands of years. Many of the most salient differences between Catholics and other Christians, like Papal infallibility and Marian dogmas, occurred hundreds of years after either the Reformation or the Great Schism, and dwarf the actual causes of either. Other Christians didn't reject Catholicism. Catholicism as we understand it today didn't exist back then, so we never believed it in the first place.

In the book of Revelation, we see that the prayers of the saints are presented to God by an angel, who then presents them to the Lord (Revelation 8:3-4).
The Bible also tells us that the prayers of the righteous are heard by God, even in heaven (Proverbs 15:29).
In the book of Hebrews, we are encouraged to come boldly to the throne of God, where we can find mercy and grace to help us in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16).
The Bible also speaks about the prayers of the saints being recorded in the book of life (Revelation 13:8).
In the book of Revelation, we see that the prayers of the saints are a source of strength and comfort for those who are suffering (Revelation 6:9-11).
Our love for people deepens by praying for them. It is through prayer that the Lord will develop a burden and a care for those we are praying for. Who are you burdened for? Who are you praying for? This is one of the many ways the Holy Spirit produces more love in our hearts for one another.

If you watch the whole video it is adressed. He refers to sources and archeological findings before the council of Nicaea, like inscriptions in the catacombs saying "Peter and Paul (long deceased at that point), pray for Primos." So the idea of requesting the saints in heaven to pray for someone on earth. The point being that the CC got this from the early church and never stopped doing it.
As for the text of the hail Mary prayer, most of it is Luke 1. So that's where Catholics get that from.
The argument here is much smaller, namely "How can she do all that?" Implying she can't. The reply being that she can, because God grants her that ability. God granted Peter the ability to speak all the languages and dialects of all the people present at Pentecost and that was on earth. So God granting someone a supernatural ability is not exactly a figment of some Catholics imagination, it happens on more than one occasion.

      Consider these things:
How does scripture/ Christ define worship, vs what we might feel it is.
Compare how Christ or His apostles define death, vs what our conception of death has been before.
Recall also that, bc a thing isn't scriptural doesn't mean it's not historical or never happened. ( Eg bicycles, smartphone, engines).
I think what differentiates Christianity with other Abrahamic religions is that Christianity faithfully testifies and prophesizes of a Union between God and man.
She believes that God became man, that man may become gods so to speak. (John 10:34-35, Psm 82:6).
Other A religions might believe that man has no right to make these claims and should be content with just an exchange of gifts (riches, eternal life for obedience) btw God and man, rather than a union of God and man.
But in Christianity, this bond is real. Not because we believe we deserve it. For you see love doesn't work on deserve.
Love is its own reason and needs no further justification. God is love, (1John 4:16).
Indeed, it's usually tempting to think eg the pristine rich prince is naive to espouse the underserving woman with a "dirty past".
Or a ghetto street kid doesn't deserve adoption by this loving parents.
This bond btwn God and man that "similarizes" but far exceeds marriage or/& adoption, is indeed underserving but true. (Rev 19:6-9, Rom 8:15, Eph 1:5).
He the beloved calls, washes, cleanses, sanctifies and preserves. He's our Savior.
Like you have quoted, in one of those lines , Mary's life and graces she's been given testifies to this love and also to what WE ALL "anticipate" by faith , ie to what the Lord Jesus is already working in us all His children.
Why should it bother us then that she's received a crown?. Wouldn't we all? (2Tim 4, Isaiah 62:3 1Pet 5:4).
Many Pentecostals say 1Tim 2:5. Shows that Jesus alone is worthy to receive prayers and that we don't need Mary, the angels and saints.
But though the Lord Jesus alone is capable of receiving, who of us alone is able to Give!!! Him all the prayers He can receive.? Not me, u, not a billion more Marys and saints.
No one can exhaust His inexhaustible Divine Mercy.
If we don't see this, then maybe we've made Christ too small in our eyes.
Or maybe it's not just that we fear for God's grandeur being threatened by asking Mary and the saints to join us in prayer to the Father, ( in Jesus name).
Maybe it's just, there's pride in us , ie "who is Mary or the saints that I should ask their prayers."
When the Psalmist says "Lord I am a servant of Your servant my mother", is he humbling himself or belittling God? (Psm 116:16).
That Mary was preserved from sin isn't impossible, for of her flesh came her Son and Lord, Who was to be spotless. So as the covenant box was purified as though not taken from acacia wood, gold etc, so too was she preserved by grace for the task that will be assigned to her.
If there's one who should be envious of this, it should be the devil not us. Why should we be bothered that in Mary and the saints, we have many mothers, brothers and sisters in the Lord Jesus?.
Can a good son envy the love between his bride and mom?.
If u desire I can quote some of the ways we come to know that Mary is the new Ark of the covenant and her Son, the Word/God.
May perfect love drive away fear (1John 4:18).

Dearest Ms Stuckey, tomorrow is Mothers’ Day in our country. I am a Catholic catechist. I love that we celebrate it in May, because May is one of the months that the universal Church honours Mary. I’m a mother of grown children. My own dearest mother is 90 years old. I’ve seen a number of your shows and they’re very insightful and sincere. I understand that Mother Mary is a stumbling block for you. I know that you’re a mother. Do you fully understand that Mary was Jesus’s mother in every sense of the word? Do you understand that he really loved his mom? Do you think he is hurt that people regard his mother so poorly, yourself included my dear, perhaps unintentionally . I know that protestants will hallow other incredible women in the Bible: Hannah, Esther, Ruth to name a few, but avoid mention of Mary. I honestly think that is the case, because Catholics honour Mary. The Angel Gabriel took the lead by calling her the blessed among women. Who are we to say it isn’t so? Jesus was dying and He made sure that his mother would be cared for. I don’t know about you, but I need the perfect of all mothers to be on my side and I know she is! I ask her to pray for me in my womanhood, but especially in my motherhood. God trusted her with his very own son and He gave her to us before he died. You are missing out on so much. You know how wonderful it is to have the same mother as Jesus and he knows I need her love and care daily and she does this because she knows her son listens to her - John 2. This is the truth my dear. Be blessed and peace be with you.

@@marydantu1102I can’t help but think you sandwich your comments with seemingly backhanded blessings and then tell people that they despise Mary. Is there a reason you are doing that?
Maybe I can help you understand the Protestant objection to the Catholic view of Mary. It is a very significant doctrine taught throughout scripture that there is no man or woman without sin. It is also commanded that we do not try to communicate to the dead or practice any kind of dark magic in order to conjure up spirits.
We agree that Mary was probably a wonderful mother, beloved by Jesus and we should honor her as the other saints, merely for their devotion to God even faced with major opposition.
Where we cannot agree is that Mary was the exception to scriptures teaching on man’s sin. That she was sinless because Jesus was physically birthed from her.
You view that Mary being a sinner would make Jesus be carried through a tarnished vessel. But that is precisely the point of the lineage from which Jesus came from. Prostitutes, murderers, and all the like are the direct ancestors of Jesus. He has not only completely redeemed His bloodline, but even all of mankind, whoever would put their faith in Him.
We do not dishonor Mary by holding to these beliefs. Even if the Catholic doctrine of her perfect nature was somehow correct, it would not be dishonorable to her.

This is interesting. First off, the idea is to ask whether we could ask anyone alive right now to pray for us. The answer to this, of course, is yes. The next question is whether or not those who have left the mortal plane of existence are still alive. For the Christian, the answer here is even more emphatic: YES THEY ARE. The Christian believes that those in Heaven are even more alive than those of us still on earth. And so there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG with asking for the intercession of those we know are in Heaven.
And finally, no Catholic believes that any creature, Saint or Angel, can control or override GOD. What we are doing is simply trying to use channels that HE himself has given us to enhance the perfection of our prayers.
Sometimes the answer to our prayers is that for which we had hoped and desired. But sometimes it is the grace to accept what we need and to keep loving and trusting GOD until we see HIM face to face.

You shall not make for yourself a carved image-any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me.
The New Testament tells us that Jesus is Lord and that God is three in one: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Acts 4:12 tells us that man can only be saved by the name of Jesus: "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” In Matthew 6:9, Jesus teaches us how to pray saying "In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name."
When Catholics pray to Mary, who was indeed a very blessed and holy woman, but fell short of the glory of God just like all of humanity (Romans 3:23), they elevate her to the same status as God. Mary and the saints, though honorable believers, are not comparable to God in the slightest. We are never instructed once in the Bible to pray to Mary or to any saint.

We dont worship mary or the saints. They can do nothing apart from god. Here’s one for you guys…..
Rev 5 When he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell before the Lamb, each holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints
So how do the saints get the prayers to offer up to god? Does god get the prayers from his people, give them to the saints in heaven, and then the saints offer those prayers to god? Or do the prayers of the world go to the saints and angels in heaven like catholics do, and then they offer them up to god as bowls of incense?
Sorry but the former scenario makes total sense. Is in line with all early christian churches including the eastern orthodox, assyrian church of the east, Ethiopian, and coptic christians. All predate the reformation by at least 500 years. Luther had no problem praying to the saints and mary. No protestant can make sense of rev 5:8 without understanding intercession. Even christ called on Elijah…. Intercession is biblical guys!

True worship is sacrifice. Thats found in the sacrifice of the mass where the one sacrifice of Christ is re-presented to the Father. We dont make any offerings or sacrifices to Mary so we don't worship her. Again making a request of her to pray for us is not worship. Christians for 1500+ years understood this. Allie Beth, Mary is called the bride of the the Holy Spirit bc it was the HS who came upon her and she was conceived. God gave her a lot of graces that are not mentioned in the gospels bc the gospels is not about Mary, it’s about the story of salvation, the good news, it’s about Christ. The mere fact that Mary had the humble authority to make her Son do a miracle at the wedding of Cana when His time had not come yet, is a huge indication that she has a lot of power and authority with God. And I believe the reason the gospels don’t talk much about her has also to do with her extreme meekness. She is totally selfless and only does the will of God. “I’m the handmade of the Lord, be it done unto me according to thy word.”

Something protestants forget is that the miraculous and mystical gifts of the holy spirit in the early church continues throughput history. In the bible paul and peter had visions and God appearing to them and telling them things. The catholic church has continued to receive this communication from God, we have had visions of God, God and mary appearing to saints together, angels appearing to saints and requesting and giving instructions for prayers etc. Michael the archangel has appeared to us and given us prayers. Even Jesus appeared to a holy woman in the church, a catholic mystic and nun and gave her the prayer for divine mercy to give to people, it was an instruction for how to pray.
Unless protestants believe all of these visions and visitations are actually satan in disguise deceiving the church for 2 thousand years and jesus just allowed it to happen. Which i don't believe especially because the church judges each vision to see if what the vision is giving or teaching us does not contradict the bible and church teaching.

In the New Testament, there is no mention of the papacy, worship/adoration of Mary (or the immaculate conception of Mary, the perpetual virginity of Mary, the assumption of Mary, or Mary as co-redemptrix and mediatrix), petitioning saints in heaven for their prayers, apostolic succession, the ordinances of the church functioning as sacraments, infant baptism, confession of sin to a priest, purgatory, indulgences, or the equal authority of church tradition and Scripture. We are not saved by sacraments; we are saved by faith. As one can see the origin of the Catholic Church is not in the teachings of Jesus and His apostles.

In the book of Revelation, we see that the prayers of the saints are a source of strength and comfort for those who are suffering (Revelation 6:9-11).Our love for people deepens by praying for them. It is through prayer that the Lord will develop a burden and a care for those we are praying for. Who are you burdened for? Who are you praying for? This is one of the many ways the Holy Spirit produces more love in our hearts for one another.

Professor Stephan Shoemaker, an expert on ancient Christianity, explains that prayer to the Virgin Mary didnt begin until long after Apostles. The idea doesnt come from Christ or His Apostles. There is no commandment or example in Scripture to invoke the Virgin Mary in prayer, so you cannot pray to her because prayer must be made in faith, and whatever is apart from faith is sin. God can do anything but He cannot lie, He has spoken In His written Word that only God Himself knows the hearts of men, which includes the Lord Jesus, so accoeding to Scripture only God knows our private thoughts, not christians in Heaven. So it is impossible for God to lie, so He cannot give the ability to hear silent prayer to those who are not God.

In humility as The Lord Jesus through the Holy Spirit drew me and I received Him as my Savior at 33 I left the RC church to find a Bible strictly Bible teaching church. I know it is the Holy Spirit that draws people and when He does you respond. You see with new eyes and want to know & reD the Bible. What Catholics get is the Bible + church dogma church precepts. These are not found in the Bible at all e.g. praying to saints saying the Rosary, Mary Queen of Heaven, purgatory. It does state Deuteronomy 4: Exodus 20 InThe Lird am a jealous God- don’t now down or worship another. 1Timothy 2:5 there is ONE one mediator between God and man, the man Jesus Christ.

Luke 1:38 - Mary’s response to the angel Gabriel’s announcement of her pregnancy: “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” This verse shows Mary’s willingness to submit to God’s will and her role in the plan of salvation.
John 2:3-4 - Mary’s request to Jesus at the wedding in Cana: “When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to him, ‘They have no wine.’ And Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, why do you involve me? My hour has not yet come.’” This verse shows Mary’s concern for others and her ability to approach Jesus with confidence.
Revelation 12:1-6 - The woman clothed with the sun, who is often interpreted as Mary, is described as fleeing to the wilderness to escape the dragon’s persecution. This verse may be seen as a symbol of Mary’s protection and intercession for her children.
1 Timothy 2:1-2 - Paul’s prayer for all people: “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people-for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” This verse encourages believers to pray for others and may be seen as an example of Mary’s intercession for her children.
Hebrews 7:25 - Jesus’ intercession for believers: “Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.” This verse shows Jesus’ ongoing intercession for believers, and may be seen as a model for Mary’s intercession as well.
Acts 1:14 - “These all continued with one accord in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.” (NIV)
Luke 1:46-55 - Mary’s Magnificat, a song of praise and prayer, is recorded in this passage. She praises God for His mercy and blessing.
Luke 2:36-38 - Simeon, a devout man, recognizes Mary and Jesus in the temple and prays a blessing over them.
John 2:3-5 - Mary, along with her son Jesus, attends a wedding in Cana and participates in a prayer of petition, asking Jesus to turn water into wine.
John 19:25-27 - As Jesus is crucified, Mary stands near the cross, along with his mother and the disciple Jesus loved. She prays and witnesses her son’s sacrifice.

The Bible is a Catholic book. It is read nearly in full every 2 years in daily Mass.

It’s like saying “oh I can’t limit God’s power and sovereignty so I might as well believe anything people tell me even if there’s no evidence based on the word of God because you know, who am I to limit what God can and can’t do?”

Trent Horn is a clown. Anyone can make the argument that says "God can do what he wants." But this needs to have some basis in scripture. In John Jesus refers to Mary as "woman." He lowers her to just any other person.

Rev 12:1-2 A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman, clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet & a crown of 12 stars on her head. She was pregnant & cried out in pain, looking to her time of delivery..

John's use of Woman in light of her being the New Eve who was only called Woman before the Fall.

@@aclark903Does Mary have eagle wings ?
Let’s actually read scripture in context why don’t we.
Why revelation 12 is not Mary.
      1. Rev 12:2 says the woman had birth pains,
      2. Mary is never said to file the the wilderness 1,262 days after Jesus's ascension
      3. Fleeing into the wilderness being protected and nourished by God is common Old Testament language which applied to Israel.
      4. Revelation 12:14 says the woman that is Christian will be given eagle wings to fly away from satan into the wilderness. Mary after Jesus ascension never ran away from satan into the wilderness, the church did.
Exodus 18:4 God says he will take the people of God out of Egypt on eagles wings the same thing said to the woman in revelation 12:14, the woman is clearly the people of God.
The woman in revelation 12:1 is representing Israel not Mary.

Praying and asking for help from Mary or the saints is no different than when you ask people to pray for you. We don't pray to them, we ask them to pray for us. If you don't think that's right, then you shouldn't ask anyone to pray for you. Wouldn't God hear the prayers of Mary and the saints just.as he hears anyone else's prayers?

430 years separate Abraham and Moses. Yet, Dives received the reply he deserved, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.' (Luke 16:19-31) How would Abraham know unless God provides that awareness for His Saints. More evidence? Rev 6:9-11.
It's telepathy Catholics call 'Communion of Saints'.
