I'm also a film major! the walk from founders to Tisch is not bad at all (7 minutes) and I personally think it's the best choice for a freshman dorm! most of my classes are in Tisch and in late April/early may your daughter will probably get an email about meeting with her advisor to work out her schedule for classes so I wouldn't worry about that yet!
