No offense to beats lovers, but the drivers in beats headphones are complete junk. the internals of any beats headphones for sound quality are what you can find in much cheaper headphones. Do yourself a favor and buy Sony headphones. Bang for your buck far superior!

My $80.00 Sennheiser from about 2006 are better than my $300.00 Beats from 2014. Beats ear cushion started wearing out after a few months, though the Sennheiser is still solid. Period. Beats are louder...but hey - volume controls!

I've never tried the Beats, but I'm willing to bet the Audio Technica's I have are way better. Though they cost about $40 more than those $80 beats.

I just picked up a pair of Roars by the House of Marley for going for below 20 USD at Amazon. They are full of character - both visually and sonically, not a pair for critical listening but for fun, kicks and style they easily challenge Beats - even in the bass segment.
They are $60 now, not $20

I ordered a pair of these after I watched this video the other night.. Paid only $21.99.They arrived this morning. I love them! I have been so tempted to buy a pair of Beats lately but because I couldn't justify spending that much money I had resisted. I am glad I never got them.. I am very happy with these Sound Intone Headphones..They are very comfortable and very good sound. Thank you Unbox Therapy and all the commenters who asked for another comparison after the Beats vs $8.00 headphones video.
You can't always tell from one quick listen and switchover. Listen for extended periods to each phone and the better one will make itself known. Subtle distortions have a way of creeping up on you and cause listening fatigue over the long term. Never go by a brief listening test. Live with it for a while. This is why so often some stereo systems sound great in the store but after you get it home and live with it a while it doesn't sound so great.

First off there is no need to be all triggered saying "beats are fucking shit and overpriced" sure that's what you think and if you believe that simple solution don't buy them and go look for other headphones and stop wasting your time hating on the company that's successful.

Yeah you need to look for some actual audio pages for that. Anyone who ranks Beats high shouldn't be trusted for audio reviews. Just check out something like Head-Fi for headphone info. They even show frequency response graphs a lot of times so you can pick ones that fit what you like.

These are both $20 headphones. Difference is the Beats are marked up a gazillion % for marketing and the logo on the side. Also, the link to the CX-05 now links to an entirely different headphone.

People are very quick to call Beats overpriced "trash". While I can agree they are overpriced, they can't quite be called bad. They are comfortable, while being just tight enough to feel firm while you're wearing them. Your typical person's ears are also probably not sensitive enough to discern the audio quality between Beats or some mid priced Sennheisers. (By mid priced I mean not over $150.) There is definitely a bias that I don't think the brand deserves. Some color schemes don't look to bad either. Wearing them as a part of fashion isn't what I would call ridiculous. There are plenty of crazy things people do for what they call "fashion".
So honestly, if the prices were lower, I'd say that they would be worth it.

Ak10Twenty Earcups are uncomfortable for me. I use HyperX Cloud 2's for my gaming sessions, they encompass the entire ear, million times more comfortable and Sennheiser does the same thing.
You can notice the difference between Beats and Sennheisers. Anyone I know who has tried both has always gone for the Sennheisers. Nobody says they sound bad, but if everything else on the market sounds just as good or better for much less, then it'll obviously be called trash.

That's not how you test headphones. When buying new headphones the membrane isn't "elastic" enough yet so you need to do what's called 'burn-in', you let the headphones play some music at half volume for about 24 hours to enhance the sound, and especially increase lower and higher bass.
Also the audio file must be lossless (such as .flac but not .mp3 format) and must have high kbps
