I have a speaker like this. Bought it like 7-8 years ago haha. The tech is called a transducer. Back in the day they actually made wall mountable transducers that turned your wall into a literal speaker. Now days it is being implemented into ultra low profile tvs where the screen is the speaker.
i have lost count of how many unboxings i have seen in this year alone and for me be far it's the coolest, craziest, most amazing speaker i have seen by far and i'm completely nuclear blown away by it....

So many things you can stick that onto, the back of a guitar, placed on your chest and hear the music from deep inside, the walls of your house. You can stick that thing anywhere and it would sound cool
We install Soundtube speakers all the time. They use the substrate they are adhered to as the cone. The caveat to this kind of setup is, you need to EQ the speaker to sound correct. Basically, the audio will never sound correct without this adjustment.
