  • I only ate SOUTH INDIAN FOOD for 24 HOURS. I'm currently based in Bangalore and love all the South Indian food I have been introduced to in the past year. Whenever I leave I tend to really miss this food as it had particular textures and flavour, which you can only find here. Just recently I travelled to Delhi for a weak and knew I would be missing my South Indian food for a whole week. Therefor I decided to only eat South Indian food for 24 hours and enjoy it to the max.

    FAQ's:
    Q Where are you from?
A I am born in former Yugoslavia. Mom is Serbian, Dad is Bosnian. During the '90's war we came to the Netherlands and I got Dutch nationality. I've lived in Amsterdam for 8 years but lost my heart to India. Since 2018 I'm based in Bangalore. See this video for my refugee story: bit.ly/2l17T9h
Q How can you afford to travel so much?
A I saved for 3 years while working full time and now travel vlogging is my job. I work together with tourism agencies but also do some freelance work on the side. Q (Why) Are you vegetarian?
A I'm vegetarian but not strict. I don't eat any meat, fish, cooked/boiled or fried eggs. I gradually became a vegetarian over the course of 15 years because I disliked the taste of meat more and more. After doing a yoga teacher training in 2015 I also quit fish and the eggs. No matter my food preferences I have no issues with other people not being vegetarian. I don't judge others and kind of expect the same favor from others concerning my own food preferences. It makes for a more friendly world :-)

Sambar is prepared sweeter in the stare of Karnataka but in Tamilnadu and andhra it is not prepared sweeter but hotter . The chilli used in karnataka is byadagi chilli ( byadagi is a place ) but in andhra it is guntur chilli which is more hotter than byadagi chilli !!
For easier digestion in cooler climate jaggery is added but in hotter climate it should be hot as once mentioned by the hotelier Sadananda Maiyya !!

Idiyappam is basically a kerala and srilankan thing, and it's my favorite food goes well with any curry. In kerala basically the home made one will be shaped like an idli(same noodle kind strains shaped in the form.of an idly) whereas in restuarants we get the flat one with thinner noodle strain. Idiyappam is also there in tamilnadu but it's not a common food you'll see people having like it is in kerala. ✌️
Oh then appam should be savoured with any of the coconut based stew. It's ❤️. Chicken stew/beef stew/mutton stew/veg stew(least fav😜) and if you are a vegiterian then yeah kadala curry is also good with appam. ✌️

Ironically, Idly, Dosa and Sambar r made for each other. Of course Ulunthu Vadai and Sambar combination is more amazing and soulful taste. Wheat Chappathi and Kondakadalai is the best value added combination forever. Idiyappam is made up of Maidha or rice flour and it should be eaten with meat or chicken or butter planner. Vadai has pour with coconut, pudhina and tomato chutney which gives you an awesome and unexpected taste. They r all evergreen food dishes and good for health. Now you're 200% Indian Woman who has tasted all tradional dishes. Mysore park is an extravaganza sweet with an awesome taste and you didn't how it melted in your mouth and it will be retained forever .

I miss being able to order food for every meal. And also here in Belgium, it's raining and cold and I don't want anyone to get my food in such harsh condition with almost little or no money that is being paid by deliveroo or takeaway. For online services I feel like Belgium and almost entire Europe needs to catch up. In Belgium Amazon also doesn't work as it should be.

Sambhar prepared in Tamilnadu is definitely hotter as compared to karnataka sambhar because the sambhar powder is prepared with slightly different ingredients. Same with tamarind rice . In karnataka it is prepared with jaggery, coconut ,byadagi chilli and other spices. In tamilnadu the chilli is different and coconut and jaggery is absent which increases its hotness!!

Kottu porota is different. Basically torn apart porota stir fried with egg little veggies and some chicken gravy😋
What she has mentioned is the way tamilians prefer to eat their porota. They first tear it apart into small pieces then pour whichever gravy they would like over it and savour the mighty combo.

Dear Ivana, it’s absolutely not blasphemy to eat Idiayappam the way you’re eating. It’s perfectly alright to eat Shyavige / semige ( Idiyappam for you ) this way in my region that’s Karnataka and also in Coastal Karnataka 😊 in fact we eat Shyavige like this quite often . So go have fun eating Idiyappam 😁
