Great reaction and interpretation of this beautiful somber piece of music...I feel that as long as only one person mourns the loss of my life then it was all worth it, because that one person is still keeping your memories of life and love alive✌️💛🤘
OMG is right. Ah, this song is such an astounding combination of beaty, and words that drive straight into your heart. This song is a real gift. I love listening to it. The song is so smooth it slips the message right at you. But, on your question no I do NOT believe that all we do is for nothing. The song drives home the recognition that money, and worldly goods can't substitute for growth in character, and strong connection with other people. Life can be so harsh, so nasty, depressing or terrifying. I feel my real purpose is to help hold others up when their life sucks, because I know others have helped me when mine has been horrible. Let's not get too distracted by the money, once we have enough to get by.
You may LOVE Genesis. Early '70s through to the '90s they made amazing music. Prog Rock to Pop Rock. Try 'First of Fifth' with Peter Gabriel singing. And also 'Mad Man Moon' with Phil Collins. They also have heavy rock music, but also use lovely guitars and keyboards. Early Genesis was avant-garde and very experimental. A VERY deep well into which to draw inspiration!
Well, you certainly picked a great song to be nostalgic about. It is truly a one of a kind tune; simple, heartfelt, hauntingly beautiful (just like you).
Hey there, I just want to say how proud I am of you for choosing to embrace life again-it's a brave and beautiful step. Listening to Dust in the Wind, one lyric really stands out: 'All we are is dust in the wind.' It's a gentle reminder that life is fleeting, but that's what makes every moment precious. You have the power to create meaning, no matter how small or simple it may feel. Your journey, your presence, and your resilience are more significant than you know. Keep shining-you're not alone.😊
Wow! Thank you so much for your kind words, thank you so much I really do appreciate you. And thank you for the arm advice, I am learning to embrace that while life may be like dust in the wind, it is ok to be present and make it worth the while . Thank you so much 😭🤍🫂
@@Nostalgicsensation I am new to your channel, but I am truly loving your reactions, thank you for your fresh and truly innocent reactions. I too went thru a time when I thought life had no meaning, I could not relate to God, the christian God, however friend took me to place where I found meaning again. I learned that our life is the memories we make and the memories we share, as long as our memories and our stories are told, we never truly die.
It always makes me laugh when people say "Oh this sounds like so and so from 3 years ago"....No this doesn't sound like Johnny come lately....Johnny come lately tries hard to sound like this. What always amazed me with this song, is how they did so much with such a simple melody and such simple basic musical instruments, yet it's heartfelt impact is paranormal. A true classic rock epic.
At present time we want to think we are unicorns, but we’re not. All we really are is dust in the wind. I close my eyes for a moment and the moment is gone. Singers in the 80s were trying to send us a message into the future. Listen to so many songs of the 80s and they lay out the map for us to follow. Well written music will never become unpopular. That’s why we’re listening to music that is 40+ years old and discovering what the singers were trying to tell us. Ponder the words that were sung from the 70s to the 80s and early 90s. The roadmap was there, we just have to be able to decipher what was being said to us.
You are so wise. We are just dust in the wind; our lives are fleeting, and then we leave. Live life as fully as you can. Enjoy the ride. Make memories that you will smile and laugh at because, in the end, it's what makes you happy.
Kansas is saying it all may matter, but we should not be weighted down by worry and the hard details because all the problems will pass. Even the most mean, heartless, and petty person will only be dust in the wind. So we are all the same and are all beautiful. It means everyone is equal.
Life is important. No matter how you view it, it is the current reality that we have before us. If dust is what we are and dust is the end result of our life it remains that we have an immediate purpose that needs to be fulfilled. If this is just our physical shell for our immortal soul there must be a point he soul needs to experience. If we are a biological organism who exist for only a moment we exist to teach, support and ease the way for those we care for and those to come.
I feel like it’s a very Buddhist sort of song. I am not a religious person - but I do like this sort of idea and understanding of impermanence. I think that in the largest view - in the universe- everyone’s existence means both nothing and everything all at once. I don’t really believe in any kind of heaven or hell but I believe in energy. That the entire universe is at its most basic - energy in billions and trillions of forms. That when I die my individualized perspective will cease to be but the energy that animated my mind and body will just change to another form. Because energy never dies, it just changes ‘shape’, for lack of a better word. To the rest of the galaxy or universe - my existence is really less than meaningless but in my little area of the world that I exist in - my own existence to me really is everything - to me and maybe - to those around me that love me and that I love - parents, hubby, my sons, my friends, my existence has meaning to them and theirs are all incredibly meaningful to me. I think there are a lot of people who find this idea of ceasing to exist as my consciousness disturbing or scary. I find it very comforting- returning to the universe, not an individual but just a part of everything and with more potential possibilities after that than I can come up with a number to describe. Will my energy become part of a star? Or get pulled into or up to the event horizon of a black hole? Will whatever was once me just spread out over random parts of the cosmos? Will I come back as a new person or some weird fish in the Marianas trench? Or not change into anything again for millions of years, a neutrino bouncing around somewhere? Everything and nothing all at once.
To answer your question...yes it does matter 100% how you behave and treat others while here. I believe this is a sifting and sorting place...where you have the free will to choose between right and wrong, good and bad, and that will dictate your next evolutionary step up or down, because as we all know by now, ENERGY cannot be destroyed, it can only change form...ice to water to steam but it's all water, and you are energy. Positive or negative ? You get to decide.
Our lives are on loan to us from God. We are his eternal children but this world will pass away. No. We do matter. ALL we do matters but you have to realize that hoarding things like material objects will not buy you another moment of life. All you are, all you’ve learned, all you’ve given and received, you take all that with you.
I was lucky enough to see them in concert twice back in the late 70’s! They put on a really good show both times

We should make the best of now, while looking into what has been hidden from us because that's where our real power lies.
"Now, we see in a mirror dimly, but then, face to face. Now, I know
in part, but then, I will know, just as I am known."

The important thing is we are eternal beings and our life does matter. And we will give an account of our lives we live here! Love is everything!
That’s just like your opinion, dude. You can always count on religion for some bold claims and no substance.
@@stephenjames5745You can always pick a doubter by their pessimistic attitude.

One of my all time favorite songs😅
I thoroughly enjoyed how the song washed over me. 🥹🤍
Pure ecclesiastes feelings. Love this song.
A great classic from the mid 1970s beautiful and power song of how fleeing the current life in this imperfect life in the current world.
We are here for a relatively short time …to learn
Coldplay - Midnight has a similarly haunting sound
