Deck Nine has said there will be no powers with any of the characters... but there will be powers/magic at play within the story. I knew something was with Rachel because it seems to lucky that she would find Chloe at the right times. Also being the fact that Chloe is a loner, and Rachel is very popular, not saying they couldn't be friends, but how quickly they became friends was odd to me. Anyway I'm going to do an analysis video later this week to tie in all the background stuff I found in ep.1 and I'll tie it together to LIS and this theory. So what do you guys think? AGirlAndAGame I agree. The Ravens are a very important and significant part. If you think about it, the Ravens symbolism would make sense and would fit in perfectly with all the different situations.

im not sure if i missed it but..... the raven showed Chloe, where to find Rachel when she woke up in the junkyard. notice Chloe, didn't get a text message and or call from Rachel. You just hear the the noise of the raven, Chloe looks up and then follow the raven to where Rachel is. So indeed, the Raven is playing the match maker here to either make there life better as they have the same path or make it worse as you said Raven are tricksters.

LoL you dont do theories but you are on a theory video talking theories. Rachel, having powers was just a Theory. I played the game, i look through all the evidence. Rachel, was just a popular girl who was miserable trying to get out of arcadia bay. the evidence point to Mr.Jefferson, Nathan and Frank all feeling her head with nonsense telling what she can be if they stick with them. Nathan, and Jefferson offered something that frank couldn't which was to be a "model/ be someone in the spotlight and how she can see the world as she also wanted to travel to alot of places. you can hear that through each convo with jefferson, nathan and frank The only power rachel would have is being ms popular / fitting in to places where she wasnt even wanted but some how in a swift moment get those people to like her with in a few seconds. as seen in before the storm and the original You see her in 3 different types of form in both old and new game. "A Gamer, A Actress, and A Model" . If anything i say her power is to manipulate people in to liking her as she said she study the human condition so she know how to use that power and to get ppl to do what she want with no fight involve.

For me the spirit animals are the reincarnation of dead characters, there here to protect the protagonist. In LIS i think the deer is Rachel, she helps Max to discover what happened to her. (And maybe the butterfly is Chloe, since she dies in one of the ending) And in LIS BTS I think the raven is Chloe's dad, he's here to guide her (?) Idk if this makes sense uuuhh
It definitely does. The animals are tied to characters and almost all significant animals are tied to dead characters at that. It's obvious to me that the Ravens are tied to William. If they were all about Rachel, they wouldn't be in all the William sequences.

In the original game, the doe represents Rachel (developers announced that) and is leading max to places to reveal the truth, and maybe max gets the time travel power to protect Chloe, and when she is dead, Rachel has nothing left to fight for, therefore no storm
Rachel is fire, fire is rebirth, not only for herself but for Chloe after her dad's passing and rebirth to a new facet of Chloe that is vulnerable and willing to love another so strongly even with the chance of getting hurt. And fire is one of those things, that is so hypnotizing you can't look away, it's dangerous and mysterious, yet beautiful and cleansing. What a perfect metaphorical embodiment of Rachel. I love this game's symbology, it really makes you think! And the foreshadowing from Evan about the forest fires, human caused or not they are necessary for things to flourish and thrive in the environment.

The Doe wasn't Max. Maybe the doe is Max spiritual animal, but in fact, the doe was Rachel /her spirit. Maybe thats the connection between them. The doe showed up to bring Max and Chloe together. It led both finally to Rachels grave, and dissapeared then. It never showed up again, after both found her dead body
Yes she was. But that was also Max's spirit animal since the doe was showing everywhere for her and the symbolism for what does are in Aboriginal cultures fits Max's personality. It just makes it more meaningful that Rachel after her death became the doe because Chloe mentions to Max that she and Rachel were alike.
I mean, it's pretty clear that the Doe represents Rachel in the first game. It's been leading us to the lighthouse. And it also appears in the junkyard when we stand close to where she's burried. (also the fact there's a ghost-deer family shown if we choose to save Chloe representing Rachel and her parrents). The butterfly would be Chloe's spirit animal. It starts it all, and appears on the coffin if you chose to save Arcadia Bay which implies that it was no other than Chloe traveling back in time at the first place, triggering the "butterfly effect" by saving herself from Nathan, so Max could learn everything about Jefferson, so she could make the ultimate sacrifice in the end. The Raven, at least the way I see it, might be the woman we see with Rachel's father. I love to speculate about this, but I am also anticipating what the storywriters and developpers have for us.
The doe was a protector spirit for Chloe in the first game. Everyone who is associated with the doe was Chloe's protectors (Snow doe from William, Rachel's ghost doe, and Max's doe that lead her places.
Dark Venom Yep. They confirmed it on one of their livestreams. It was Rachel leading Max. That's why I can't wait to see what happens in "before the storm". There must be a reason why they both chose Max (as in, Chloe and Rachel).
I think maybe Racheal is a time traveler like max, only to get kidnapped by Mr.Jefferson. Knowing what her fate was going to be, she time traveled back to that time with Chloe and made some hints saying that she may not be here anymore in the future. Maybe when Racheal was killed her power got passed down to Max so she can protect Chloe.

It makes no sense for her to be a time traveler. Max has been chosen to be a time traveler because she is a photographer and Rachel is not a photographer.

In The Tempest, in one of the scenes one of the characters , Ariel, turns into a raven like monster by the work of Prospera, which is who Rachel plays. So we can expect more raven symbolism
I think the girl who was smiling at the end and smoking is the raven we see the bird fly over and we know its a trickster and that Rachels dad kissed that girl and he may have been tricked which got Rachel upset so my guess is the girl smoking and Rachel maybe one and the same in terms of some kind of power.
What if the trickster aka the girl smoking on the bench at the end is Rachel's mom or real mom it would make sense the town being destroyed when max and Chloe found Rachel's body the mom never had closure and killed everyone in spite with her power. It would make sense that if Chloe died the killer for Rachel would be found and then no revenge storm would have happened.
I never said Rachel will destroy the town I said the girl smoking I think will she will be upset by losing Rachel and finding out she died so she kills everyone in hopes to kill the murderer but when Max resets time and Chloe dies the killer is caught. But when Max saves Chloe the murder gets away.
From the original game,the first episode is called crisalys or something, that is the name of the process were the caterpillar becomes an butterfly. This is when max gets her powers,but,as you may know,the butterfly effect is when the butterfly wings flapping causes an storm, referencing about how every action max does with her power brings the storm closer, while the raven is an omen of death. This game is totaly about Chloe: -butterfly is Rachel (look at her earpiece in Before the storm, after she went missing chloe dyed her hair blue (maybe we´ll learn in another episodes) -raven is her dad (or someone else we find out in upcomming episodes) AND FINALLY - the scream Rachel performed at the end of episode 1.. THIS is the storm, SHE is the storm comming for Chloe, that´s why she almost died so offten, she wanted to be with her in heaven

I've heard this in s theory once that rachel may or may not have powers, she definitely can't time travel but her trait is that she can blend with the crowd and make anyone love her n stuff. And if u refer back to the episode where max is trapped with Jefferson, Jefferson even says that there was something special about Rachel, that she was a "human chameleon" man this shit reminds me of that movie "Push" with Chris Evans if you think about it. Another thing I've thought is her being the human chameleon n stuff. Saying how she can say certain things that can make people like or whatnot aor do what makes people agree, what if she has that affect on nature?
I feel as though the ravens chose Rachel to be their vessel in Arcadia Bay to set a cleansing operation in motion, the one that will finish once Mark Jefferson is thrown in prison and his awful project finally ends. Rachel was the one that started the fire of rebirth, by both doing whatever she will do in BTS and also forming a strong bond with Chloe that will continue throughout LIS as well. What I'm trying to say here is that the raven chose Rachel as a sacrifice for the sake of the town (just like the end of LIS, where we have to sacrifice Chloe to save Arcadia Bay), hence Chloe's dream in which she sees Rachel burning, representing the sacrifice for the cleaning needed to the town, but without the girl being afraid of it, as if she's conscious that her death will be needed as well. Rachel's death will ultimately lead to Chloe entering a certain bathroom and Max saving her life and thus discovering her powers (probably related to Rachel), which will bring both of them to the ultimate decision and the cleansing, in one way or another, of Arcadia Bay. So more than a protector for Rachel, I believe the crow represents the guide she's following to fulfill her destiny as a sacrifice for the town (also wanted to add that her father, an important politician, having a secret lover also represents the corruption of Arcadia Bay), also symbolized by her famous earring, a feather, which I've always thought interesting. Okay, now I'm done rambling lol
Also with Rachel's scream wind would rush past her only when she screamed as if it was following her scream, kinda like her controlling the air in a way.

Why do all these events have to happen? What is the whole meaning of the first game if time travel is the whole reason that all the bad stuff happened. If max did not get those powers, then there would just be the proper ending. Why did she receive those powers if all they did was make everything worse.
A long shot but imagine if the woman that is shown at the end of Before the storm is actually the homeless woman later on in LIS haha! A bit out there I know!

I love that the all seeing eye is now the 'this action will have consequences' icon. I've only seen it in two other places (i know there are more and i probably just can't remember them), in Chloe's car and on the wall in the girls bathroom (where Chloe gets shot). I feel like there has to be something more to it.
I thought Rachel was the doe? My theory is: the fire that happens in the second game is Rachel's anger at her dad, and when she is stabbed it is immediately extinguished. Once she has died, and I do know about all the theories about her not being dead, but for this one, I'm presuming she did die. The doe we see in the first game clearly represents her in death, as the fire did in life. Once we see Rachel found, the doe disappears, but it's almost as if this is where she sees how close Chole is to Max now, and becomes jealous. Rachel then perhaps wants Chloe back for herself, and this is why she could be the storm from the first game. We've already seen how she created the fire, so maybe, she is the storm. And, at the beginning of the game, when Max is in the forest when we first see the storm, what's the first thing we see? A doe.
Now I'm only talking from a Canadian perspective because I don't know anything about American-Aboriginal symbolism. Every nation was different, after all. But in the South-west (near the what the states would call the north-west) the raven isn't a symbol as much as a character all its own. Raven comes to you when you die to collect your soul. Without the raven you would've left to wander the earth as what I can only describe as equivalent to a tortured ghost/zombie/demon thing depending on how good you were in life. Nice people get ghosts and demons are, well, evillish. Of course, I'm just describing that through a Eruocentric lense because I don't have the specific language or knowledge to convey it as well as an Aboriginal person or scholar might but the basics of the raven are there. Is the Raven watching over Rachel-Amber to judge her and see if she is worthy of having her soul collected for the afterlife?
One thing I noticed that really intrigued me is that when you play that last game where Chloe and Rachel look at people and act out what they think they are thinking, you see the same woman in the ending yet there is no option to say anything. BUT EVERYONE ELSE THERE YOU DO IT TO! What if, what if, Chloe didn't see that woman and she was only visible to us, the player...... It goes hand in hand with the theory of her being a human incarnation of the trickster raven.
The dev confirmed that the doe was Rachel, not Max. Which is why the Doe was first seen standing directly over Rachel's burial spot, and the only other time it was seen was when it was looking on as Max and Chloe dug Rachel up.

The doe of Rachels spirit who starts the first game of life is strange, your first introductions happens to be the doe leading max to the storm ties the entire story together.

(Sorry for my English) I believe that Rachel has the power to "control" people -and maybe things- like once a guy in UA-cam says that Max is a photographer so the point of photographing is "to capture a moment forever" and as we know she can rewards time, also Rachel is an actress! And that gives her the ability to do and deal with people to make them to do whatever she wants. That's all people, carry on.
What? Rachel is the blue jay? How is that making sense? I always assumed Rachel is symbolized by the doe and it also happened to be Max's spirit animal. That's why Max was able to see the ghost doe, certainly not coincedentally at the place where Rachel was buried. (Also, I mean, look at Rachel and tell me she does not remind you of a doe.) Then we have Chloe, who I would say is the bluejay. Thematically that makes sense, given how blue was Chloes signature color in LiS and how Max can choose to revive the bird or let nature take its course, just like she does with Chloe at the end. I don't think the butterfly is anyone's spirit animal, it's just a sign by nature, supposed to make Max take a picture to give her the opportunity to come back to this event later, when she solved the mystery. And the Raven... I could imagine that being the mysterious women's spirit animal. I also thought about it being Chloe`s as well, since she can wear it on her shirt, just like Max wore one with a doe in LiS. Maybe it symbolizes Chloe`s demons. Maybe spirit animals change when our personalities do, like when Rachel disappeared and Max came back into Chloe`s life. But thus far I do believe it symbolizes the woman.
I think some of the stuff you are saying is pretty convincing, but there is a possibility it was just for the sake of game's visual impact, like Rachel screaming, I think it escalated like this as a symbol of Rachel's despair.
I always thought that the Raven was William's spirit animal. Considering that he always flies over Chloe as though he's watching over her especially when Rachel is around to make sure Chloe doesn't get "burned" by her like he mentioned in the third dream

I always have this bad feeling that Rachel may turn out to be a villain. I don't really like that Idea I'd rather her be grey but Chloe keeps saying what a great actor she is and she keeps deceiving people like in the principals office, talking to victoria, getting the wine, etc. I fear she may also be deceiving Chloe too to get what she wants. I don't really want this to be true and it doesn't really match up with Rachel guiding max in the next game, or Rachel's urgency to leave with Chloe... or her emotional outbursts that might have driven a less...Chlo-ity Chloe away. Perhaps she herself sees this happening and wants to leave that life behind.
In my opinion Rachel was using Chloe, she used a lot of people, and I'm not saying she did it in a malicious way either because she wasn't. She needed help, but she doesn't know how to ask for it and I think she thinks the only way to escape her pain is if she leaves Arcadia Bay, like Chloe wanted to, which is why she was so happy when Chloe said that to her. But in reality, there are other people (ex. Frank and Jefferson) who can get Rachel out of Arcadia faster than Chloe can because she's still a kid too and Chloe even said it herself that if they were gonna leave it wouldn't be right away, but that's what Rachel wants, so she'll do what it takes to get there, even if it meant leaving Chloe behind. Do I think Rachel is a bad person? No. She's still young and doesn't understand a lot of things, I just think she believes what she is doing is right but it's sadly not :\
Maybe the reason why Rachel said those things to Chloe was because Rachel jumped from a time when she was in a situation that she wasn't going to get out of? I know it might sound a little dumb but i just thought of it off the top of my head (oh and maybe this is what Chloe saw when Max jumped the second time to undo saving William when Max was apologizing to Chloe)
In the ending where Rachel is re-united with Sera, we see the raven fly away like his work was done. It was only possible with Chloe's help, so it's possible that the raven brought Rachel & Chloe together for that purpose. Also, this ending only happens when you tell Rachel the truth about her father, which can seem like a bad choice - but it's not a choice Chloe makes out of anger, but after talking with William in the burned forest, who was accompanied by the raven in previous visions. One of the dialog options when talking with Sera in the burned mill is: "I though my dad was perfect, but now I realize he was probably just as messed up as everyone. And it doesn't make me love him any less." It would have been so much easier to spare Rachel the pain of the truth, just as it would have been easier for Chloe to remember her father as being perfect, but that's not what gives us what I feel is the happy ending. Perhaps the raven gives Chloe her visions of William so that she can be at peace with her father's death and move on instead of living in the past by holding onto the idea that her dad was perfect and that gives her the strength to tell Rachel that painful truth in hopes that in time, she will also move on and love James despite what he did out of desperation.
What if Chloe was some sort of magical power source and that's why the raven is always nearby. The raven would want to gain power from Chloe for some purpose. This would explain Max's confusion at having time powers once she has moved back to Arcadia Bay(closer to Chloe) and why we see Rachel's powers after Chloe and her have connected. The only two people we see in Life Is Strange have spent a large portion of their lives outside of Arcadia Bay so I suppose moving there and befriending Chloe jump-started their powers.
I saw some comments saying Rachel has time travel powers but the developers said that this game has nothing to do with time travel because it was something special to Max :/ still I think Rachel has something to do with the winds and storm because every time she screams there was a wind out of nowhere
I have no doubt that the Doe from LiS is Rachel guiding Max, the Blue butterfly is Chloe since she died in a few parts of the game and in one of the endings, and in LiS Before The Storm the Raven is William, Chloe’s dad. When it comes to “spirit animals” I think Rachel would be a Raven, the Blue Butterfly is Chloe, and the Doe is Max.
A lot of people think that Rachel is the doe due to (amongst others) the scene where Chloe and Max find her body. The evidence that Rachel is the doe is pretty convincing. EDIT: Okay, so apparently this was confirmed by the devs too.
But in the second episode Chloe saw the raven at her father's shoulder and there wasn't Rachel in there. Also, taking into consideration what we have learned about Rachel's family, her wish to run away sounds normal. She was under a lot of pressure in her environment.
I noticed that everytime rachel scream the wind behind her it's like alimented by her scream..infact after the first scream the wind stopped..and during ghe second scream the wind's come again..so i think rachel is obvusly a nature supernatural force..she had something..
I got a theory that Rachel had powers but has nothing to do with Wind. I believe Rachel has visions. At the Firewalk show, Rachel saved Chloe. But how did she know Chloe was in danger though? And I personally think Rachel used Chloe for her own wishes. Like for example Rachel and Chloe played Two truths and a lie and Rachel knew what was the truth and what the lie. Rachel probably had a vision of them spending time together. Rachel and Chloe ditched school but Rachel was really following her dad because she probably had a vision of Sera and The DA kissing and wanted to see if it was true. When I thought about it, They are still best friends 3 years later. Rachel probably had a vision of them discussing ditching Arcadia Bay and going to Los Angeles. So she stayed friends with Chloe so she could achieve her dream. Rachel could of also had a vision of her and Frank and thought that she would get free drugs if she was in a relationship with him. And I know this doesn't make sense but when Rachel had her last breath, she had a vision of Chloe getting shot. So she gave Max her powers because Rachel knew that Max wouldn't betray Chloe. But instead of giving her visions, she gave her an alternative power of her power which is rewindng time. lol i literally came up with this while watching Ravens Home LMFAO
I agree with everything Samantha Littlecreek said, and I also think that Rachel was trying to run away so she had the chance to change what would happen in the future, but they never run away because I think she knew that she had to accept her fate and that she should spend every last minute with Chloe before her death. In this video I’m not 100% sure about the Raven controlling Rachel tho. EDIT: Rachel I think is a time traveler and that’s how everyone likes her. I’m not saying that everyone knows that she can reverse time, I’m saying that she fixes her mistakes so people like her. This is probably how she gets really good grades sometimes as well. Or maybe she is just a very hard working student. Remember this is JUST A THEORY AND AN OPINION OF MINE SO DO NOT GET MAD ME!

There are more people in Arcadia Bay than Chloe, Rachel, Max, Nathan, etc. The tiny slice of the entire picture is merely the content the developers give us in the game itself. That's significant. And the lesson. What if, as you are playing LiS and BtS, others are playing, controlling the lives of all the others? Is their game less important, because it isn't the story you are playing? Does their game have no affect on each other's, or yours? To understand the entire purpose of the cosmos, one must be more than 1 story, 1 picture, 1 moment, 1 life...or more than 2, or 3, or...

I think that Rachel gave Max the rewind power.Now why? On the train they are playing a game of 2 truths and one lie. There is one combination that Rachel can guess in one try. Like she got back in time to check the answers. And after she died she gave it to Max. IDK just another theory

Rachel, was just a popular girl who was miserable trying to get out of arcadia bay. the evidence point to Mr.Jefferson, Nathan and Frank all feeling her head with nonsense telling what she can be if they stick with them. Nathan, and Jefferson offered something that frank couldn't which was to be a "model/ be someone in the spotlight and how she can see the world as she also wanted to travel to alot of places. you can hear that through each convo with jefferson, nathan and frank The only power rachel would have is being ms popular / fitting in to places where she wasnt even wanted but some how in a swift moment get those people to like her with in a few seconds. as seen in before the storm and the original You see her in 3 different types of form in both old and new game. "A Gamer, A Actress, and A Model" . If anything i say her power is to manipulate people in to liking her as she said she study the human condition so she know how to use that power and to get ppl to do what she want with no fight involve.

Yes she was. But that was also Max's spirit animal since the doe was showing everywhere for her and the symbolism for what does are in Aboriginal cultures fits Max's personality. It just makes it more meaningful that Rachel after her death became the doe because Chloe mentions to Max that she and Rachel were alike.
I mean, it's pretty clear that the Doe represents Rachel in the first game. It's been leading us to the lighthouse. And it also appears in the junkyard when we stand close to where she's burried. (also the fact there's a ghost-deer family shown if we choose to save Chloe representing Rachel and her parrents).
The butterfly would be Chloe's spirit animal. It starts it all, and appears on the coffin if you chose to save Arcadia Bay which implies that it was no other than Chloe traveling back in time at the first place, triggering the "butterfly effect" by saving herself from Nathan, so Max could learn everything about Jefferson, so she could make the ultimate sacrifice in the end.
The Raven, at least the way I see it, might be the woman we see with Rachel's father. I love to speculate about this, but I am also anticipating what the storywriters and developpers have for us.

I think maybe Racheal is a time traveler like max, only to get kidnapped by Mr.Jefferson. I think the girl who was smiling at the end and smoking is the raven we see the bird fly over and we know its a trickster and that Rachels dad kissed that girl and he may have been tricked which got Rachel upset so my guess is the girl smoking and Rachel maybe one and the same in terms of some kind of power.
What if the trickster aka the girl smoking on the bench at the end is Rachel's mom or real mom it would make sense the town being destroyed when max and Chloe found Rachel's body the mom never had closure and killed everyone in spite with her power. It would make sense that if Chloe died the killer for Rachel would be found and then no revenge storm would have happened.

I feel as though the ravens chose Rachel to be their vessel in Arcadia Bay to set a cleansing operation in motion, the one that will finish once Mark Jefferson is thrown in prison and his awful project finally ends. Rachel was the one that started the fire of rebirth, by both doing whatever she will do in BTS and also forming a strong bond with Chloe that will continue throughout LIS as well. What I'm trying to say here is that the raven chose Rachel as a sacrifice for the sake of the town (just like the end of LIS, where we have to sacrifice Chloe to save Arcadia Bay), hence Chloe's dream in which she sees Rachel burning, representing the sacrifice for the cleaning needed to the town, but without the girl being afraid of it, as if she's conscious that her death will be needed as well. Rachel's death will ultimately lead to Chloe entering a certain bathroom and Max saving her life and thus discovering her powers (probably related to Rachel), which will bring both of them to the ultimate decision and the cleansing, in one way or another, of Arcadia Bay. So more than a protector for Rachel, I believe the crow represents the guide she's following to fulfill her destiny as a sacrifice for the town (also wanted to add that her father, an important politician, having a secret lover also represents the corruption of Arcadia Bay), also symbolized by her famous earring, a feather, which I've always thought interesting. Okay, now I'm done rambling lol

Why do all these events have to happen? What is the whole meaning of the first game if time travel is the whole reason that all the bad stuff happened. I've only seen it in two other places (i know there are more and i probably just can't remember them), in Chloe's car and on the wall in the girls bathroom (where Chloe gets shot). I thought Rachel was the doe? My theory is: the fire that happens in the second game is Rachel's anger at her dad, and when she is stabbed it is immediately extinguished. Once she has died, and I do know about all the theories about her not being dead, but for this one, I'm presuming she did die. The doe we see in the first game clearly represents her in death, as the fire did in life. Once we see Rachel found, the doe disappears, but it's almost as if this is where she sees how close Chole is to Max now, and becomes jealous. Rachel then perhaps wants Chloe back for herself, and this is why she could be the storm from the first game. We've already seen how she created the fire, so maybe, she is the storm. And, at the beginning of the game, when Max is in the forest when we first see the storm, what's the first thing we see? A doe.

Now I'm only talking from a Canadian perspective because I don't know anything about American-Aboriginal symbolism. Every nation was different, after all. But in the South-west (near the what the states would call the north-west) the raven isn't a symbol as much as a character all its own.
Raven comes to you when you die to collect your soul. Without the raven you would've left to wander the earth as what I can only describe as equivalent to a tortured ghost/zombie/demon thing depending on how good you were in life. Nice people get ghosts and demons are, well, evillish. Of course, I'm just describing that through a Eruocentric lense because I don't have the specific language or knowledge to convey it as well as an Aboriginal person or scholar might but the basics of the raven are there.

One thing I noticed that really intrigued me is that when you play that last game where Chloe and Rachel look at people and act out what they think they are thinking, you see the same woman in the ending yet there is no option to say anything. BUT EVERYONE ELSE THERE YOU DO IT TO! What if, what if, Chloe didn't see that woman and she was only visible to us, the player...... It goes hand in hand with the theory of her being a human incarnation of the trickster raven.

What? Rachel is the blue jay? How is that making sense? I always assumed Rachel is symbolized by the doe and it also happened to be Max's spirit animal. That's why Max was able to see the ghost doe, certainly not coincedentally at the place where Rachel was buried. (Also, I mean, look at Rachel and tell me she does not remind you of a doe.) Then we have Chloe, who I would say is the bluejay. Thematically that makes sense, given how blue was Chloes signature color in LiS and how Max can choose to revive the bird or let nature take its course, just like she does with Chloe at the end. I don't think the butterfly is anyone's spirit animal, it's just a sign by nature, supposed to make Max take a picture to give her the opportunity to come back to this event later, when she solved the mystery. And the Raven... I could imagine that being the mysterious women's spirit animal. I also thought about it being Chloe`s as well, since she can wear it on her shirt, just like Max wore one with a doe in LiS. Maybe it symbolizes Chloe`s demons. Maybe spirit animals change when our personalities do, like when Rachel disappeared and Max came back into Chloe`s life. But thus far I do believe it symbolizes the woman.
Now that I saw the ending, I realised how much foreshadowing there really was for the fire.
I think some of the stuff you are saying is pretty convincing, but there is a possibility it was just for the sake of game's visual impact, like Rachel screaming, I think it escalated like this as a symbol of Rachel's despair.

I always have this bad feeling that Rachel may turn out to be a villain. I don't really like that Idea I'd rather her be grey but Chloe keeps saying what a great actor she is and she keeps deceiving people like in the principals office, talking to victoria, getting the wine, etc. I fear she may also be deceiving Chloe too to get what she wants. I don't really want this to be true and it doesn't really match up with Rachel guiding max in the next game, or Rachel's urgency to leave with Chloe... or her emotional outbursts that might have driven a less...Chlo-ity Chloe away. Perhaps she herself sees this happening and wants to leave that life behind.
In my opinion Rachel was using Chloe, she used a lot of people, and I'm not saying she did it in a malicious way either because she wasn't. She needed help, but she doesn't know how to ask for it and I think she thinks the only way to escape her pain is if she leaves Arcadia Bay, like Chloe wanted to, which is why she was so happy when Chloe said that to her. But in reality, there are other people (ex. Frank and Jefferson) who can get Rachel out of Arcadia faster than Chloe can because she's still a kid too and Chloe even said it herself that if they were gonna leave it wouldn't be right away, but that's what Rachel wants, so she'll do what it takes to get there, even if it meant leaving Chloe behind.
Do I think Rachel is a bad person? No. She's still young and doesn't understand a lot of things, I just think she believes what she is doing is right but it's sadly not :\

Maybe the reason why Rachel said those things to Chloe was because Rachel jumped from a time when she was in a situation that she wasn't going to get out of? I know it might sound a little dumb but i just thought of it off the top of my head (oh and maybe this is what Chloe saw when Max jumped the second time to undo saving William when Max was apologizing to Chloe)

Something more to help this is the fact that rachel's head movement when she is burnt looks similar to a raven's. The whole jagged head tilts? Yeah.
In the ending where Rachel is re-united with Sera, we see the raven fly away like his work was done.
It was only possible with Chloe's help, so it's possible that the raven brought Rachel & Chloe together for that purpose.
Also, this ending only happens when you tell Rachel the truth about her father, which can seem like a bad choice - but it's not a choice Chloe makes out of anger, but after talking with William in the burned forest, who was accompanied by the raven in previous visions.
One of the dialog options when talking with Sera in the burned mill is:
"I though my dad was perfect, but now I realize he was probably just as messed up as everyone. And it doesn't make me love him any less."
It would have been so much easier to spare Rachel the pain of the truth, just as it would have been easier for Chloe to remember her father as being perfect, but that's not what gives us what I feel is the happy ending.
Perhaps the raven gives Chloe her visions of William so that she can be at peace with her father's death and move on instead of living in the past by holding onto the idea that her dad was perfect and that gives her the strength to tell Rachel that painful truth in hopes that in time, she will also move on and love James despite what he did out of desperation.
What if Chloe was some sort of magical power source and that's why the raven is always nearby. The raven would want to gain power from Chloe for some purpose. This would explain Max's confusion at having time powers once she has moved back to Arcadia Bay(closer to Chloe) and why we see Rachel's powers after Chloe and her have connected. The only two people we see in Life Is Strange have spent a large portion of their lives outside of Arcadia Bay so I suppose moving there and befriending Chloe jump-started their powers.

And I personally think Rachel used Chloe for her own wishes. Like for example Rachel and Chloe played Two truths and a lie and Rachel knew what was the truth and what the lie. Rachel probably had a vision of them spending time together. Rachel and Chloe ditched school but Rachel was really following her dad because she probably had a vision of Sera and The DA kissing and wanted to see if it was true. When I thought about it, They are still best friends 3 years later. Rachel probably had a vision of them discussing ditching Arcadia Bay and going to Los Angeles. So she stayed friends with Chloe so she could achieve her dream. Rachel could of also had a vision of her and Frank and thought that she would get free drugs if she was in a relationship with him. And I know this doesn't make sense but when Rachel had her last breath, she had a vision of Chloe getting shot. So she gave Max her powers because Rachel knew that Max wouldn't betray Chloe. But instead of giving her visions, she gave her an alternative power of her power which is rewindng time. lol i literally came up with this while watching Ravens Home LMFAO
I agree with everything Samantha Littlecreek said, and I also think that Rachel was trying to run away so she had the chance to change what would happen in the future, but they never run away because I think she knew that she had to accept her fate and that she should spend every last minute with Chloe before her death. In this video I’m not 100% sure about the Raven controlling Rachel tho. EDIT: Rachel I think is a time traveler and that’s how everyone likes her. I’m not saying that everyone knows that she can reverse time, I’m saying that she fixes her mistakes so people like her. This is probably how she gets really good grades sometimes as well. There are more people in Arcadia Bay than Chloe, Rachel, Max, Nathan, etc. The tiny slice of the entire picture is merely the content the developers give us in the game itself. That's significant. And the lesson. What if, as you are playing LiS and BtS, others are playing, controlling the lives of all the others? Is their game less important, because it isn't the story you are playing? Does their game have no affect on each other's, or yours? To understand the entire purpose of the cosmos, one must be more than 1 story, 1 picture, 1 moment, 1 life...or more than 2, or 3, or...
