Join me as I fly from Frankfurt to Singapore, and experience a Jumbo Jet. A 747 is hard to find nowadays, with only a few carriers having any left. However, I was determined to see if Lufthansa is as bad as some report on their 747-8.
the aircraft has perhaps seen better days, but it still has comfortable seats, and decent food with a bar. It's not exceptional, and neither are the lounges, but it does make for a pleasant flight.

Thanks for the video. Flying this exact route in 2 weeks. I’ve already told my girlfriend to manage expectations with regard to the seat. Luckily on the way back to London we’ll be flying with Singapore Airlines and a much nicer business class product.

The 747-8i's going to around for a lot longer than expected. Lufthansa are also recommissioning A380s (6 so far). The supply crunch on new widebodies means they can't reach the global demand. If the wings haven't fallen off, they'll keep flying what they have.

The 747 always a nice looking bird but the drab decor inside and menu/wine and pathetic cocktail offering was enough to request a refund in any currency but euros. Very informative and funny trip report as always from the very best reviewer on any platform. Great work!

Amazing video. It's always great to fly on a B747 as these are getting rarer nowadays. LH business class is not horrible, but considering they're a 5-star airline, and some of their new aircrafts like the A350s still have the same business class seats, people have reasons to dislike this product.
Do note that the '5 star' rating is only given by one minor online aggregator, for which the UK Advertising Standards Authority has consistently upheld five complaints related to the authenticity of its ratings system for airlines. Sadly, the '5 star' is advertising bumf in aviation terms, and notable airlines no longer subscribe to this so-called rating system.
Excellent video
Today it is simple enough to find out which Airlines/flights offer seats with direct access from the isles (1-2-1 config) before one books a flight. I personally dont fly business on airlines/flights that dont provide these.
Like your vids, always good for a smile while being away from an aircraft. However the aircraft is a 747-8 onlyamd not -800 ….believe me, I am not a bean counter by all means….regardless, will have a Sunday funday drink on ya for this video

Umm thanks, I thought I’d like the chance to fly the Lufthansa 747s but,no, I’ve changed my mind I’ll stick to my 1st choice Emirates 380 upper deck with the pub at the back the last time I was upper deck in a 747 was from Miami to Heathrow some years ago and came of with a migraine, but I wouldn’t pay premium for what you had no more than the dreaded Emirates 777 business,great video as usual and wish for a few more though they can get stale.

The 747 is fab but sadly very dated. Boeing sat on their laurels for too long - THEY should have created the Boeing equivalent of the A380 but their arrogance cost them dearly. As originators of Long Haul air travel, they should have kept the market going but got arrogant because why else allow Airbus to corner the market with the A380? But a great review as always -
