Speed Ramp Drone Footage with Directional Motion Blur

- In this tutorial, I teach you how I speed ramp my aerial + drone footage and add motion blur to enhance the effect. We will review the basic workflow on how to set keyframes, edit a clip's time remapping, and set your directional blur! Showcasing footage from Seattle, Vienna, San Diego, and the Faroe Islands, this workflow has proven to be an easy method to increase the quality of your edits. Using Premiere Pro, Time Remapping, and Directional Blur allows us to impress our audience using engaging flight paths and realistic movements. I also briefly explain my thought process when recording aerial footage for speed ramping.

Thanks man...the directional blur is such a great addition...and props for taking that extra step to correct the direction...great tutorial!
Of course man, the devil is in the details! Glad it was helpful!
Some solid technique in this video. Its really about that polish and that polish that separates your work. Great stuff Mike!!!
Thanks a lot Zeke, it's not just the footage, but how you edit it that can really differentiate you!

Nice work man, I finally know there is a "nest" function haha , I used to export the clip I would like to apply the other effect, now it saves me lots of time.
sure thing! The Nest function is great, huge time saver for sure! :) plus you won't lose any detail like you would by exporting, importing, and re-exporting
Great video - Thanks

Glad you found it useful! Thanks a lot, Zeke is the man 👌 great friend
This channel is an awesome find! Great tips and great production value. Can I ask if there is an advantage from nesting the clip and using the reference, rather than creating an adjustment layer with directional blur and placing it on top of the clip?
Thanks for asking Michael! While I haven’t personally tested it, I imagine nesting the clip provides faster render / playback and the adjustment layer may create lag on some computers. Both solutions should work though!
@@FrameworkFilms that's good to know. I hadn't thought about performance. Thanks for your help!
Hi there! What fps are your shooting at originally ? Also for the slo motion parts what would you suggest to film in 60 fps or 120? Or just shoot everything in 30?
This was shot at 23.976 and then speed ramped to fast motion.
Can you show us what to do if we are editing multiple pieces of video? Do you slice them and nest each one individually? or
Specifically for a speed-ramped transition?
NICE VIDEO! I am making drine footage too. you are on a good way to 1000 subscribers 👍👍
Thanks a lot! Definitely getting closer
hello what is frame video should be shot for speed ramp
I usually record at 24fps
how to activate fullscreen as you did.. .and how to see full screen just the timeline where we edit
you can use the "tilde" key or "control/command tilde" - it's right above the tab key
@@FrameworkFilms great pal.. thanks
For some reason I am not getting those points on my video timeline and cant drag anything? Only place I can see the points is in the effect control.
Right click the FX button and switch over to the speed setting. You can make the points by right clicking on the line to add key frame point
What the drone restrictions around the needle look like??
I encourage you to look it up online :)
So that means... SEND IT!!! THANKS
