I just now realized a stealth pun. When Rainbow Dash imitates Fluttershy, she calls herself “Care Mare.” What is Fluttershy known for? “The Stare.” “Care Mare…Stare!”
13:48 >She doesn't deserve this. Yes, yes she does. If anypony deserves the name "Crash" it's her. Just how many times have we seen her slamming into things? She had that most-stuff-broken-in-under-a-minute trophy for a reason. ua-cam.com/video/N1U-tPbpY2I/v-deo.html
+teilzeitbernd Well, yeah, maybe, but I felt bad that her first days as a Wonderbolt were being marred by having to bear a nickname she disliked. My heart overrules my head sometimes. ^^;
13:50 That picture of RD's friends on the inside of her locker is really cute. It looks drawn rather than photographed, too. A real "aww" moment for me.
It's one of those episode where I can't make up my mind if it's a bad one or a good one. There's some good elements and bad elements. I like it's lesson and some of the imitations were genuinely funny, but it's not an episode that I'm going to watch again and again. And, is it a bit cruel from me that I had the music from Puma Man in my head when Rainbow Dash was doing her crashing routine?
From what we have seen from previous wonderbolt appearances they have called each other by name so i guess they say their nicknames mostly in private. P.s I love how all the wonderbolts have the same hair style only with minor differences.
1. 2:12 "Ouch! Poor Spike!" Thank goodness for those thick scales. 2. 2:44 Rarity: "So what do you do now, Dashie?" TPrower: "Ha! Everypony's calling her Dashie now." Except AJ. I could never imagine _her_ addressing RD that way. 3. 4:52 "Hustle those haunches, honey!" When you say it like that, you make it sound incredibly sexist. Oops! 4. 5:11 "About time she got to wear one of those!" There is going to so much fan art that DeviantArt is going to need to upgrade its servers. 5. 7:04 Misty Fly: "Classic rookie move, Rainbow Crash!" You would know what one looks like, wouldn't you, _Dizzy?_ 6. 8:44 "Awww, they even brought the Crusaders!" I think that may have been only the fourth time in the series that we got all nine of them (m6 + CMC) in the same building together. First time was Sugarcube Corner (at the end of Cutie Mark Chronicles), second was at Shining Armor's wedding, and third was in the gala ballroom. 7. 9:55 Pinkie: "Well, look at the bright side. At least they didn't call you Rainbow Trash!" Between this line and Rainbow's use of a storm cloud without telling anypony, I am strongly suspecting that our new writer was trying to reference a certain crossover fanwork. 8. 10:37 Ummm, Dash? Were you watching Soarin sleep? 9. 11:03 "Aww geez, now she's Applejack!" In a way, isn't she always? ;) 10. 11:46 "Let me guess. Twilight?" With those glasses, looks more like Moondancer to me. 11. 12:16 Omg, it's literal FlutterDash! 12. 12:39 And of course the writers had to have Rainbow do her Rarity impression in front of the only stallion of the team. 13. 16:02 "This has _bad idea_ written all over it." If Scootaloo, the daredevil of the CMC, is apprehensive about your idea, you should probably reconsider. 14. 20:00 Spitfire: "You *don't* want to know what they call me." TPrower: "Well now that you said that, we do!" The writer probably wanted to give her a nickname that would never be approved by Hasbro. So instead, he did the next best thing and implied something terrible, leaving it in the hands of the fandom.
+Narrator007 1. At least they gave Spike a really good episode before they returned to messing with him again. 2. It _would_ sound weird coming from her, yeah. Twi, too. Pinkie, Fluttershy, and Rarity are the most affectionate out of the 6, so it makes sense for them. 3. Damn, you're right. Oops. ^^; Maybe _I'm_ the one who needs to be called 'Hoof-in-Mouth' 4. Pfft, yeah. Derpibooru will probably come close to bursting as well, if it hasn't already 5. Oooooh, burn. XD 6. It really shows that they're a genuine part of the crowd of heroes. =) 7. Since both Trixie and Gilda are redeemed, we couldn't have it from one of them, or the name 'Lamebow Dash'. XD 8. Well, if FiW Twi is to be believed (and she really isn't), it's not creepy. XD 9. I see what you did there. I bet Ashleigh had a lot of fun with this one. XD 10. Wow, you're right. She didn't even tweak her mane like she did in Lost Treasure of Griffonstone 11. And it's the most adorable impression by far 12. And the shippers rejoiced 13. Out of Character is serious business, my friend 14. Which makes it even better. I've heard people theorize that it's 'S***fire', but I don't even wanna imagine how she'd get that name. XD
I think this was an above average episode, not the best Dash episodes but definitely up there. I knew the nickname thing was like the military but what were the odd Rainbow would get the same name her old bullies gave her?
+SuperSonicHeroes I thought the same, until there was a flashback scene in the season 7 episode, Parental Glideance, with a young Rainbow Dash and young Fleetfoot, Sourin', and Spitfire that made me think otherwise. So I think they probably knew all about that cruel name those asshole colts called her.
+Ultra Master789 My guess is either 2 possible names. "Backfire": Because on her first day, she farted so loud that everyone heard it, and maybe smelt it. "Shitfire": Because she got a stomach bug that made her crap herself during training.
There were some things I loved about this episode, but I was really disappointed that we didn't get more for Rainbow's biggest day. Usually the character milestone episodes are these big, musical, happy celebrations. Rainbow has hardly gotten any screen time this season until now, and this wasn't the best thing for her to come back to. I realize this episode was probably going for a more realistic approach, and it does well in that respect. But I think they should have spent less time on drama, and more on a happy ending. I retain a shred of hope that we'll get to see her enjoying herself in a proper flight show later this season. I loved seeing the inside of Rainbow's house though, and I'm really glad she's still paying attention to Scootaloo.
While I don't consider this to be RD's best episode (that title still belongs to Tanks for the Memories), it's easily in the top 3.And it's not the best of the season, but that's really not saying much. Every episode of the season has been great, and this continues that trend. It's just that at least one episode (last week's) is just a bit better.
+funcoolfunfun That's a fair judgement. I wouldn't consider this the best, either, but it was still enjoyable, even if I didn't like Dash having such a hard time.
TPrower We never like seeing characters we care about have a hard time. But it would also be kind of boring if they were able to just cruise through everything without problems.
I’ve heard so, yes. I think the big problem here was how Dash’s Wonderbolt nickname was so personal to her, that she didn’t want to be remembered by it for the rest of her life. She also didn’t realize that every other Bolt had such nicknames, until the end.
@@TPrower that was by accident on the wonderbolts side they probably didn't know about the bullies also rainbow dash didn't tell them. If she did that might have made them think of a new nickname
This was an okay episode not one of Rainbow's best episodes but still an enjoyable one, I personally never really liked the Wonder Bolts, the episode Rainbow Falls which I still consider Rainbows worst episode pretty much made me not like the Wonder Bolts, Rainbows impersonation of her friends was amusing but got alittle annoying after awhile, and I'm sorry but Rainbow just looks weird in the Wonder Bolt's uniform, out of Rainbow's episode I still consider the episode Wonder Bolt Academy to be her best one, her other episodes are enjoyable but just don't hold up to it, nice commentary.

6:14 you got that right sans a really bad time
A great episode
Although when you think about it this is every new cadet that joins either the Marines or the US Army, then they end up getting their ass kicked.
I thought rainbow was never gonna be a wonder bolt but then again I thought the same thing about the cmc getting there marks
10:28 Was that a Goof Movie reference? Freaking awesome.
How cool is it that rainbow dash is finally a wonder bolt?
Wow this whole nickname situation kind of reminds me of my situation because my brother my sister always calls me twist and don't like it at all

10:28 I forget that reference what's it from
one of the season 6 episode. I like it.
What do you think about rainbow being a wonder bolt?
And now for my favorite episode since Crusaders of the Lost Mark. As one of my favorite commentators would say, let's... get to it!

And Academy award for best actress goes to rainbow dash
Was that one yellow and white wonderbolt a reference to the character Suprise ( If that was her name i don't remember)????
+mlgamer2010 Could well be. The official "Elements of Harmony" book actually names Surprise as a current member of the squad.
Awesome reaction video bro :)
I’m really curious about what did the other ponies used to call spitfire.
The fact that Spitfire whispered it to Rainbow, my guess is it was something extremely inappropriate!

I would agree with your feeling here, except that Rainbow Dash becoming a Wonderbolt doesn't really represent an ending. It represents a beginning.
