I’m actually in need of help here so please advice if you can. It’s only thing I got stuck on while disassembling the engine. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks
Sorry if you mentioned it in another video, but is there a reason you pulled and tore down the engine? I'm understanding you are freshening up an older bike from a questionable previous owner but is there something that prompted you to get into the engine, or is it something you do on all used bikes you buy? Thanks!
@@ericschreppel7809 Yes. Why would you need to remove it to split the case? It's not covering any bolts or screws. You do need to remove it to replace the seal behind it though
I knew they were somewhat close already, and that i would be taking the head apart anyway. It would just be doing double work because they would have to be checked once the head was back on and torqued down anyway.
What a brave work, I'm not confident to go too deep in my fz1
Only way to learn! Also I had no choice.
You will never learn if you don't
Awesome! Love the detailed knowledge/commentary. Working on rebuilding my fz1 transmission. This is a lot of help!
Glad it helped!
5:50 what tool to remove magneto?
I can’t find one anywhere and the one I bought is incorrect

I used a torch and a large bolt as a puller.
@@DeWoodysShop thanks! Ill try that

Well I just watched you pull out part of a gear sprocket so I think my question is answered.
@@53iBro Yep that was it, 3rd gear was shot. i generally like to avoid splitting cases. But that seems to be my trend lately ...
How can I remove the stator? I took the screew off but it dont want to come out. Please help
With a stator puller and some careful heat. You don't have to take it off either to spit the case.
@@DeWoodysShop Are you sure you don't have to remove the Stator and rotor to split the cases?

Had the engine done many miles when it failed?
I think it had 22,000 miles on it. But i think the previous owner contributed to that more than the miles.
Why not check the valve clearance 1st?
