The more you go back and look how balanced and solid the 2004 Auburn football team was from watching the games....they should have played for the NC. The closest game that even challenged them was who? A Nick Saban coached defending national championship LSU team. That was an epic game at the end when we made the completion on 4th down.
as much as I can't stand auburn... I agree wholeheartedly... they got screwed out of a legitimate shot. Would they have beaten USC? Who knows... but they deserved a chance.
Auburn's OOC really hurt them when compared to OU. Now, you can say but look at the SEC strength compared to the Big 12, but OU played an equal amount ranked teams . USC was just the best team, violations or not.
Bottom line is MONEY!!! Even though most still be saying the SEC is the best/toughest conference in football..they felt like they could PROFIT more off of USC and OKLAHOMA that year. All just a big racket...that's why they cater so much to Alabama, Ohio state, LSU..etc..help them get in so-called championship games and sometimes just put them in the games or "playoffs" all for TV revenue/money!!! #whatajoke😕👎 and WARDAMNEAGLE😷✌⚓
they would've had a much more competitive game having USC v Auburn than USC v Oklahoma. Auburn was robbed of a shot to play for the title. Auburn would've beaten USC no doubt.
That was the year they soaked the field down, so Ronnie and Cadillac couldn’t run. They claimed to have put a tarp over it. They didn’t mention the hose pipe underneath the tarp. Still won, though.
as bama fan that auburn team should have played in the national championship game that yr. but im sure glad Bama is back in top again like Bama's golden age
5:42 I still agree (can't believe it's been 15 years) that there shouldn't be a preseason poll in NCAA football. Too many things change from year to year. It's not fair to a lot of teams that they are judged by what they did the year before. The system that they have now (2019) should apply, but with no preseason polls to influence the committee. Polls should come out about halfway through the season. In my humble opinion. There shouldn't be a #1 preseason team that plays a cupcake schedule (Alabama) that gets to coast into another championship run because they didn't lose (with an easy schedule), besides their sec schedule.
Will someone please explain to me how Vern and Gary work for CBS instead of Alabama football network? CBS announcers are supposed to be neutral. They are clearly Bama fans. As an Auburn fan, I find it insulting when they call the iron bowl. You can hear the disappointment and disgust in their voices, especially Gary, when Auburn does something good. I just don't get it.
Fans of every team apparently think that. I’m a lifelong Bama fan and tons of Bama fans (not me) also think these guys hate Bama. It’s all a matter of perception.
We got RIPPED bad. That was another championship literally robbed from us. Technically, we have 9 championships, not '2'. Especially if we count them like bammers. War Eagle!
We honestly should be considered the 2004 National Champions since USC was forced to vacate their championship from that year, and Auburn was #2 right behind them. I also honestly believe Auburn would have won the national championship if given the chance to play. 2004 was right on par with 2010 as Auburn's best season ever.
THERE'S THE RACIST BARNER! Aw, y u mad, though? Did 28-7 and then 34-27 get you all riled up. LMFAO. Samantha, I'll give you some really good advice. It is very unlady-like to speak like that. People will judge you!
comin from a bama fan. auburn was robbed of the natl title. oklahoma went only to get their ass kicked by usc by 36 points. if auburn was in it, wouldve been a better game. auburn probly wouldve won
If we hadn't scheduled a game with USC the year prior we would've played them in the Natty in 2004. On the other hand, if we had just played as we were expected to in 2003, we really should've won 2003 and 2004, but we absolutely busted in 2003.
No. Auburn didn't deserve a 3rd shot at USC; they weren't selected because they had already lost to USC in 2002 (24 - 17) & 2003 (23 - 0). OU was a better match on paper rating's wise even though they got slaughtered.
I believe this was the season when Bama won their first 3 games. But, Croyle got hurt right after that, and their season went downhill fast. They couldn't put the ball in the end zone, and had to settle for field goals. This game was another example of that.
Man we (Alabama) sucked when Shula was there coaching. But to be honest I miss the old football days. Even when we lost football was different back then and it was better.
Agreed on both points. I miss scores being reasonable and games were a lot closer. 20-7 was a whipping back then. I like the new offenses, but I miss defense and I think the rule changes have made it hard to be a defender
I seem to remember that next kid you guys had. What was his name? Brodie Croyle? Yeah, he blew big time. Also, didn't that ginger get knocked unconscious a few years later? I always thought he was great.
Oh how I don't miss these dark days of Alabama football. I know that the barner crybabies can't stand it, and long for the days of Mike Dubose, Dennis Franchione, Mike Price, and Mike Shula, but we are NEVER going back to that. It was easy as shit for auburn to beat us when we had one arm tied behind out backs. Ever since the 6 in a row ended (the crowning achievement of barner ball) auburn has only beaten us 4 times. And all three wins have come 3-4 years apart. It has been nice not having to listen to the mealy mouthed barners year in and year out like we had to back in the early to mid 2000's. Now we get to hoist College Football Playoff National Championship trophies, while auburn still brags about "six in a row, ga-huck ga-huck". Oh, well, I guess there is "the cam back" and the "kick 6". Well, they can have those. We will take 9 SEC West Titles, 8 SEC Titles, 15 consecutive seasons of 10 or more wins, 4 Heisman Trophy winners, 7 playoff appearances, and 6 National Championships.
I heard that the NCAA will eventually strip the 2010 National Championship title away from Auburn and all the other awards(including Cam Newton's Heisman trophy). There was evidence found that Scam Newton's father was guilty in shopping his own kid around. That "Cam back " slogan that Aubarn always jabber about will easily be forgotten of by the Alabama fans.A bright future lies at stake for Alabama while Auburn will still be stuck on that "6 win streak" and "The Kick Six" phrase.Roll Tide🐘
The true and only National Champion of 2004 - the Auburn Tigers.

It's amazing to see how biased both announcers are towards bama. It's clear they hate seeing Auburn beat 'em.
Back when Alabama was capable of making field goals.
I played with Bostic in high school. Good dude. War Eagle
Best team we ever had.
Love watching my Tigers beating Alabama. War Damn
Amen and war eagle!

USC Trojans has no choice to give up the 2004 National Champions because of Reggie Bush Incident
2004 was a good year
as bama fan that auburn team should have played in the national championship game that yr. but im sure glad Bama is back in top again like Bama's golden age
Thanks for being honest

God I miss Mike Shula.
Would've been nice to have Sark or anyone besides Shula's offense back then

TearingMeApartLisa lol he didn't even point out the right commentators
i know i always mute the tv because they are annoying
T boii Max They were annoying af the other day. My goodness.
jmall i know i hate them during the lsu game i muted them the last 2 minutes
Fans of every team apparently think that. I’m a lifelong Bama fan and tons of Bama fans (not me) also think these guys hate Bama. It’s all a matter of perception.
another year were Auburn got screwed out of at least playing for a national championship
lol. Big Bama plays, followed by field goals. That's a Mike Shula offense for ya.
Since AU glory days Alabama 2009-2011-2012-2015-2017-2020. The Barn hasn't won anything since 2010. Oh well.
As a Bama fan I do not miss this era one bit. Good lord, that offense was physically painful to watch.
We got RIPPED bad. That was another championship literally robbed from us. Technically, we have 9 championships, not '2'. Especially if we count them like bammers. War Eagle!

Y'all would have been trucked by USC that year. Just like OU was.
Joe Schmoe . i bet you we're your daddy's favorite little play toy. See you soon josifina.

greatest college football team of all time and the biggest national championship snub of all time
most 1st round picks
comin from a bama fan. auburn was robbed of the natl title. oklahoma went only to get their ass kicked by usc by 36 points. if auburn was in it, wouldve been a better game. auburn probly wouldve won

Shut up Alec
Holy cow. In the current days of replay we would have given Alabama 1 second and the ball on the final play.
Auburn was robbed that year!!!!!
YES INDEED
THE REAL NATIONAL CHAMPIONS 😗✌😷⚓ #wareagle

2004 Auburn Team was good but they can beat any teams like 2009 Bama, 99 FSU
Auburn should’ve played USC in the BCS title game. They put OU in there cuz of overrated ass Jason White. Smh
How Jason White won a Heisman is beyond comprehension
Back when auburn use to take bama to the woodshed
still do every 3 years at worst as of late ....
Announcers sounded so sad
we was robbed in 04 of the bscnc game should have been auburn and usc
i agree
War eagle!
Man we (Alabama) sucked when Shula was there coaching. But to be honest I miss the old football days. Even when we lost football was different back then and it was better.
Football was more exciting back then I agree with you
Speak for yourself. May the Mike Shula days never return !!!!!

who were the 2 teams who made it nc
USC and Oklahoma played in the nc that year
Hopefully you can win an SEC game this year
They won a few in 2013... take :01 to think about it.
@@tarakelley41 yes, that sucked for sure
@@tarakelley41take :01 to think about how AU celebrated the 10 year anniversary of the 2013 IB win.
I seem to remember that next kid you guys had. What was his name? Brodie Croyle? Yeah, he blew big time. Also, didn't that ginger get knocked unconscious a few years later? I always thought he was great.
oklahoma and usc
B.C. before Cam
auburn not scoring an offensive touchdown in two years vs Alabama makes me smile

auburn not scoring an offensive touchdown in the last two years vrs Alabama makes me smile
should've been a second left lol
Auburn fans gloating about beating Spencer Pennington makes me smile.
My dear sir.....ask The great Barnell Williams....He calls it "Aubren." Good enough for me.
Alabama gave this game away. 2004 auburn wasn't all that
2004 Auburn didn't lose a single game.. What was Bama's record? 5-7 if I recall correctly?
^^You a fucking idiot.
Ucantseeme312
Don't get me wrong, Saban has fielded some great teams at Bama, but the 2004 Auburn team beats any of them at least 6 out of 10 times.
You need to capitalize the "A" in Auburn but leave the "a" in alabama lower cased
+DaRyanMac I strongly disagree with you sir. The 2009,2011 and the 2015 Bama teams would beat the 2004 Auburn Tigers 6 or 7 times of of 10.
