Thanks for taking the time to do this. I'd love to see the process of how you first made the holes in the block ready for the drill press.

Мне кажется или вы родом из России ?

You distort the hole when the pinblock lifts when you remove the drill bit. And you "burn" the hole with too high a drill speed.

      Dear fellow technician!
I completely understand you concerns about burning the wood inside the pin block on the high speed of the drill press.
On my equipment I don't have this problem. I can bore over 240 holes in 12-15 min.
And a drill-bit I use hardly get warm.
Of course I use the special sliding table ( as you can see on my video).
This result can be even improved if you make some research and testing.
I suggest to look for better cutting tools (drill bits) and more precision equipment ( drill press, milling machine and overs).
      Sincerely,
      Gene.

Exactly. and drill speed is much too high.

Not excellent. Technical overkill and deficient in areas that matter. The pin block is not clamped down sufficiently and sometimes comes up at an angle when retracting the drill. This for sure ruins the hole by making it too large.

Hi there! I understand your concern. The pinblock is secured enough to the moving frame. I have no problem with what you had mentioned and your concern about the size of the holes in the pinbock. The holes are perfectly straight and I am not sure where you see them being too large, you can come and check and measure for yourself. All of the pinblocks that I have done for the last 20 years, 1,000s of them are perfect.
      Thank you for your feedback.

@@PIANOSXXI Well, at some time it can be seen that the pin block is lifted up by the retracting drill. For sure this will make the hole too large. The pin block is only held down at two points on the far side. This is clearly not enough. And some (not all) holes WILL BE too large..

      Thank you for your comment.
I've come to understand the complexities involved in working on the pin block. There are numerous variables to consider. Allow me to offer a valuable piece of advice: if you secure the pin block permanently, you are likely to cause more damage during the process of drilling the holes. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid permanent fixation to prevent additional complications.
I'd be happy to see your technique for drilling the pin block and we can discuss the best option.
