2021 and beyond who's listening?... My late dad introduced me to this song would be turning 56years this month of June 28th...happy birthday in advance
Roseberry topping just outside chris's and my home town Middlesbrough. I grew up climbing it seeing it and taking it for granted, until i spent one winter picking my mate moose( thats another story up) for work, i would decend every morning over flatts lane 7am and see chisel hill, sometimes covered in mist, sometimes basked in beautiful sunshine, snow hail and driving rain and every time wonderful! I've travelled a fair bit and seen and appreciated the wonderful scenery and sites ive seen home and abroad and I've not seen anything that moves me the same, and last year i got married(again) and our wedding venue was in sightof roseberry topping!
Wow, I started listening to this song when I was 16years and never knew the meaning, and now I am 55years and still love it more 😭😭😭😭😭,I am in South Africa 💋💋💋
I believe Chris Rea had a vision of heaven when he released the song Chisel Hill because he is talking about the prince of peace , end of the road ,angels looking down at him ,time standing still etc .What a masterpiece. Thank you for blessing us with your gift of singing
I used to listen to this song with my cousin's father after Sunday lunches . He unfortunately committed suicide and this songs reminds me of how jolly of a person he was and how he loved his children and taught them this song May his soul rest in eternal peace
Always listening to this song brings my life to a Full breath of my last breath....looking at clouds with a star and Angels coming to fetch me What a Master Piece!
Acoustic drew me to the song more than lyrics. Funny how music legends would write about anything and everything and still soothes the soul as compared to today's music which fades away quickly.. And it never really include everyone and ages
I grew up in England and there is something intrinsically English about this song that always sends me back in time to my youth - walking in green fields around Kelston Round Top (my personal "Chisel Hill"), then my personal " Ale House called" (The New Inn in Keynsham). And altough I'm not religious, some form of a "Prince of Peace" was definitely there. Thanks for the posting.
I'm from Birmingham but I have fond memories of Roseberry Topping in the snow. My mum is from Middlesborough and I used to go up there with her and my dad to do a bit of sledgeing in the snow. I love Middlesborough and the people are so friendly. It's such an underated part of Britain.
M from South Africa (black )the first time I heard it I said whoow, what a song,a masterpiece love Chris REA, LOVE YOUR SONG GOD BLESS

Chisel Hill is "Roseberry Topping" near Great Ayton, North Yorkshire, south of Middlesbrough, which is, of course, Chris' home town.
No it isn’t Colin. Chisel Hill is in Seave Green, Chop Gate where Chris had his recording studio.
There's a Chisel Hill Farm just south of Stokesley.
