Spielberg is a master director. Not because he's an amazing director, even though he is, but because even after all these years he still has the mindset of a student. He's went on record saying that he still has much to learn from filmmakers, and speaks of EEAAO in particular. Don't get me wrong, he's still a class act, but I imagine that his clapping and smiling is because he was genuinely rooting for EEAAO.
this movie saved me when I was going through depression due to pandemic, not being able to see my family, not knowing my direction in life and being an immigrant. it made me feel its going to be okay. so well deserved win!!! this movie might have saved many lives

What a night of Asian excellence at the Oscar’s! the cherry on the top is India winning two awards for an original song and documentary. Ke Huy Quan, Michelle Yeoh, MM Keeravani & Chandra Bose and the entire team of RRR, Guneet Monga, Kartiki Gonsalves and team of the elephant whisperers it was true realization of the great American Dream in mainstream entertainment after all these years.

Not only is this win so deserving, but it also sets a good tone of what the "Best Picture" should or could be. people usually expect those heavy dramas to win coz that is usually the case (with some exceptions). EEAAO was a film of pure artistry, good story telling with stellar performances.

But the perception of most, especially when it comes to award-winning bodies such as the academy, it must be a heavy drama or one must act in such to display their "acting chops". Of course, not always. There has been lighter-toned films who have won.
Spielberg is a storyteller but foremost, he's one of the biggest fans of storytelling. He understood that his and the Daniels' stories are different stories with different messages and how differently they were told and just for being nominated is already a huge win in his industry.
I remember first time watching it, got out of the movie theatre, sobbing hard, but also feeling incredible and happy. The movie gave me complex emotion. Amazing experience. Love Avatar, Top Gun, All Quiet on Western Front, Triangle of sadness, Banshee, Close…crazy year for being back in movies…

Everything everywhere all at once goes to show that movies don't need hundreds of millions of budget to be brilliant, just good writers, actors and actresses who really care about what they are making
Spielberg is actually a very humble director, he often asks MICHAEL BAY for advice (someone no one considers a good director) and always listens to him
Indiana Jones and Short Round reunited 40 years after "Temple of Doom" and the joyous outpouring of love between those 2 men is beautiful to see. Ke Huy Quan showed great humility and class by asking Mr. Ford to give the Oscar trophy to the producers instead of accepting it himself.
Personally for me probably wouldn't of been my first pick based on my preferences but you can't argue that this movie has clearly resonated with alot of people and has absolutely swept this ceremony aswell as the award season as a whole. Respect to the cast and all involved with the production for making such an appreciated film and I'm glad to see how much it means to all of them congratulations to all involved
I believe one of the reasons is because it was so different to everything that was on cinemas at the time, also although it's a multiverse sci-fi movie, the main theme is about family and how love can come from different sources (Evelyn love for Joy, Waymond love for Evelyn even when she gave him a hard time)

In the backstage afterwards Wang referred to his dad's habit of mixing up movie names, and honestly I feel like he had a bit of a moment onstage recalling his dad's words, and did the same thing. It was a really unfortunate flub, but so endearingly human, he was just on another planet, the poor guy lolol

For me, it's the most weird/awesome ride of a movie since Inception. I wrote back in december to my family, it deserved to win every oscar, whoever had anything to do with this movie should win an oscar......and they did.
