1:2 Tesla Cybertruck VS Ford F-150 (TOW TEST!) This is insane , worth watching ua-cam.com/video/5QZ9MLQOo-4/v-deo.html
Why this rig will fail most truck people Lift kit Bigger wheels and tires Dually option Available to the market today All of which Tesla fails at oh but they took your hundred dollars and when they don't produce this fugly thing well your lose Teslas gain
Just a thought but people have been using existing evidence of ev towing like model x and its not good and also battery energy density vs diesel or gas,. But model x isn't designed for towing and cybertruck will be. It's not just going to have 3 model x motors they will be new so will the battery and software. I think it will surprise us.
A Tesla trailer may very well contain its own battery. Higher models may contain motors. If push comes to shove, and you feel that the range will go down below that which is acceptable, put an electric generator in your trailer. It might sound silly, but the reality is that you will be using your truck in its strictly electric configuration most of the time, and only firing up the (gas, diesel, or propane) generator on those rare occasions where you really need the extra range. If you have a camp trailer, you might already have a generator on board.
Cybertruck charges at 250+ kW. It will be interesting to see how big that + actually is. Can V3 output more than it's listed 250 kW, or do we have to wait until V4? Perhaps they can utilize Megachargers when they're built.
The cYber truck is not replacing any towing pickup trucks any time soon, a ram 3500 diesel can tor 35000 pounds all week long , cybertruck ir a truck for non truck peaople , anybody that uses truck for a living will love the lack of side acces to the bet , that alone is a deal breaker for me , now if you want it just to be the same as all the other owners , but dont need to tow or haul anythig , then thats the truck for you 👍🏻
Ladder rack? Any heard anything about a ladder rack? I”m in painting biz and need to be able to throw ladders on top. I preordered one, but might have to cancel for that reason alone. Why is no one talking about this?
I think Elon cant stand to hear that he is not the master of everything. There is a old phrase. Jack of all trades but master of none. This will be his downfall a failure once the truck hits the market. It will see its first wave of buyers first year or 2 being the cool new factor but i promise you it will drop like a rock in the ocean starting on yr 3.
Still waiting for Musk to get his Cybertruck, hook up a 29ft powerboat and trailer and drive with it and see how far it gets before it's dead, betting not too far. I don't think we've seen him tow jack shit with that thing yet, never saw him tow shit with the Model X either and that thing is a complete failure at towing.
Just have to wait. I'm not a fan of trucks but I do want to get one. Our family's model 3 is pretty great for a city car. Our SUV now is just for long range travel (>400 miles) since we save so much money on gas per month using the Model 3 for daily driving.
@@joeqiao1691 That's great but that has nothing to do with towing. If he has time to hook it up to another pickup truck and do some stupid meaningless tug of war thing, he has time to actually show it towing shit too, which conveniently he never does.

The reason its look is so polarizing is because it is unlike anything we are used to seeing. When we think pickups, we have been conditioned to seeing the exact same shape. So any other shape will make it seem drastically different. Plus no pickup truck is pretty looking whatsoever; they aren't supposed to be. This is not the case with other car types which are and have to be good looking(objectively speaking)
Why do you think all pickups have basically the same shape? Hint: it's because it works for what a pickup is designed to do. Believe it or not, designers haven't designed pickups with angled side rails BECAUSE it limits its ability/utility in towing fifthwheel/gooseneck trailers, standard canopies and useful camper inserts, ease of loading/unloading, carrying capacity, etc etc. It isn't because they didn't have a triangular ruler.
Does not matter how you look at it. Electric towing is better the fossil fuel towing, I mean 3 miles per gallon in most tow rigs? That’s to expensive. Therefor more time can be sacrificed

Nearly all 2020 Tesla’s have more range than a gas car. Cyber truck and roadster could have 2 times as much range. That’s not where the problem lays though. It’s on a longer trip inevitably the range dies. Except with an electric vehicle refueling takes an hour rather than a 5-10 minutes.
Eh eh, will you are not thinking. Electric whicle can calculate range on how hard is puling at a given space and time. And it would be posible to calculate aerodynamic coefiscient and exact weight of a trailer just from wheicle power meter. 😉
One thing big that people forget about EV trucks. Yes you need more power to tow BUT you also get more power back in regen. Remember newton's first law. An object want to stay at rest but once its in motion the object once to stay in motion. Stopping this motion means more regen that has ALWAYS been unused in the F150s

It wont. You'll handle the crash of your own vehicle if it happens to even bump that thing.

Yep, I can just see Willy Joe Bob Buckbilly figuring out his load specs and calculations before he goes down to the flea market and a load of scrap ready before heading off to church on Sunday. Flip off for Eff sakes !
I do not disagree with your point, but in actuality do you see Willy Joe Bob Buckbilly affording a CyberTruck? I am a high school drop out that happens to make decent $ and my plan is to buy a CyberTuck if they live up to the hype, and you can bank on the fact that I will do rough calculations on weight vs distance. Even Willy Joe looks at his gas gauge and will do the closest thing he can to calculating his chances of making it vs running out of fuel. Hopefully the truck will be able to sense weight with it’s height sensors and do the calculations on it’s own. But again, I don’t see most people doing math to figure out go or no go. These are points that all major automotive manufacturers need to figure out before they go full electric. I’ve ran out of gas and it sucked. But I got out of it quickly with a fuel can. I don’t think it would have been near as easy with a EV.
Replace the trailer floor with batteries
The idea would be to put another skateboard underneath
Love the topic. Dislike your production because it seems unorganized or unprepared.
I liked your video because of topic :-)
tesla can't just offer a standard trailer, people have a wide range of needs, ie. horses float, caravan, transport raw materials, transport other vehicles, work tools. etc etc
They can do both tho. In fact, their own trailer being an option may offer “the most range”
I’m 7ft. 2100mm and it looks like head room as a driver is ok. But leg space. Your bum must be higher then your knees on a long trip, otherwise lots of leg pain. It’s just not healthy. Lots of tall people and RAM is the closest to fixing this. Elon!!! Can we get an answer on this. I’m in FL every other month. Happy to pop in!

New S already pulls >250 on V3, there's margin for MTBF everywhere. They can crank it up as numbers come in.
@@asterix2ksi as of about 2 weeks ago, 181 kW in a Model S was the record.

They should produce a trailer with a helper motor and battery. Takee off and hills. With its own battery.
Tesla needs its own trailer with an extra battery pack on it. Heck add regenerative braking to the trailer and plug it into the trucks control bus.
The production model cyber truck won't look anything like wat we have right now

Water isn't wet. Water can make something else wet, not itself. A "floor" can be wet, a "towel" can be wet, but water can't be. Sorry.
Stu Pidas now pussy on the other hand...

Please anyone can tell me where to get such a desk cybertruck model it is soo damn cool :)
Put 1K of solar panels on roof of trailer to feed truck the truck and extend range.
People tend to forget that Tesla is a tech company not a car company...
3 miles per gallon? You are either a liar or ignorant of the facts...which is it?
Why are you not reviewing the new mk8 golf that has alexa built in? Insane tech.

The 1st pickup that's not a snooze
Eh eh, will you are not thinking. Electric whicle can calculate range on how hard is puling at a given space and time. And it would be posible to calculate aerodynamic coefiscient and exact weight of a trailer just from wheicle power meter. 😉

Dude! He does not need to make his own trailer. He just needs a wheel base conversion kit or kits (AKA different lug nut configs) to fit any trailer.
One thing big that people forget about EV trucks. Yes you need more power to tow BUT you also get more power back in regen. Remember newton's first law. An object want to stay at rest but once its in motion the object once to stay in motion. Stopping this motion means more regen that has ALWAYS been unused in the F150s
Why would you even bother to buy a cybertruck if you rely on a truck for towing? I live in west palm, and there are so many top trim trucks around, never seen them towing. I only see landscapers/power washing contractors towing where I live.

Gas vehicles lose range when towing - period. Mileage, not great to begin with, goes in the shitter. Physics is physics.
Not diesels and not nearly as much as an electric
also doesn't really make a difference cuz you can refill it in less than 5 min
@@Johnny-tq9no Yeah - diesels too. Diesels are not immune from the laws of physics - the more weight you pull, the more energy you need to expel to pull it. Plus, they're polluters.
@@stephendavis6261 diesels are far more fishing under high load then gasoline and gasoline is far more efficient under high loads than electric and also can be refilled very quickly so range is not usually an issue
@@stephendavis6261 electricity use also causes pollution... Efficient hybrids and some efficient gas cars are better for the environment in the us on average
EV cars are so efficient they operate on such less total energy with a comparable range. The physics of that don’t work out when a variable of large weight is added. Essentially the electricity is so efficient it cannot be stretched any thinner. So sadly electric cars take a much higher toll on inclines/towing.
