As a Mexican living in Mexico, I don't really think that person was saying that Mexico is a "bad place to live" but a lot of states in Mexico are really struggling because of the gentrification that's been going on because a lot of foreigners are coming to Mexico to live while working for their home country companies. Because of that, prices in Mexico have raised to the skies and a lot of our salaries aren't enough for costing those prices and most companies, businesses prefer to have those foreigners pay for higher prices rather than appealing for a wider audience. So that's why a lot of mexicans don't want foreigners in our country as we are barely surviving. Not meant with any hate whatsoever, xo ❤
The conversation around gentrification is super valid & important! & I also understand that sometimes people get frustrated & don’t articulate their points fully. But we also get a lot of troll comments from racists so I want to make sure that everyone knows this isn’t the place to shit on Mexico. It won’t be tolerated over here - we love Mexico.
I have a coworker that use to live in Mexico, but moved her family here to America for a better life a long time ago. But she still goes back to Mexico 2-4 weeks every year to visit friends and family and see her hometown.
& while I never want to speak over their lived experiences, I can’t allow the ugly verbiage of it all to be perpetuated. There’s a different way to say that because for all I know, if this goes unchecked, I’m allowing racists to be hateful in my comments section.

Most of the time people who stuff like this are usually from that place or go off of what actual people from whatever place say
