Me and my boyfriend are planning on working from Bali this summer and this video was exactly what we needed! We finally found someone who wants to avoid the super touristy places and actually experience the destination itself. Thank you Adam!
This video deserves so many more views! Thank you so much for bringing up a lot of tips I haven’t found in any other videos about Bali 🙏🏼 much appreciated
WOW this video is INCREDIBLE!!! I was giggling so much when the little monkey was on your head haha, so amazing. Thank you for giving us this amazing breakdown of costs, so so good. I have watched 1 hour, im so thrilled to come to Bali, going to finish the second hour of the video tomorrow. THANK U for this outstanding film.
Excellent Vlog. Lots of Info, gorgeous scenery and excellent tips. Wapa di Ume currently charges around 250 a night - which may be worth for what you get, but is a little steep
Im been there 2017 and 2019 I liked it very much, i think one of my fav destiantion in asia, also lombok was super I wonder how much is it changed now, it was popular even then but its been 5 years and im thinking to go back there, only thing im a bit scared that 5 y is a long time and if its twice crowded now , then its not so cool anymore :(( my fav places were uluwatu and ubud
Hi Adam, thanks for the information. We are a family of 3 visiting Vietnam before returning to US in a few weeks. Thinking of coming to Bali but looking for a quiet beach there to enjoy water sports with my Son. Is there currently a quiet beach area there and can you recommend a beach front hotel please? Thanks again:)
Thank you so much for your dedicated post. I not only enjoyed your content but it was extremely informative. Additionally it was affirming my feelings and excitement to come to Bali solo for my 30th. I have a question and I'd really appreciate and value your feedback. Your opinion or suggestion could be invaluable. The most "touristy" item on my itinerary is to do the Sunrise Mount Batur Hike! It's the driving force of my decision to come. I want to be on top of a mountain watching a breathtaking sunrise while I enter this next chapter of my life. It is the highlight It's the ONE thing I need to book in advance. Unfortunately, i cant control the calendar, and my birthday falls on a Saturday in August. I expect this excursion going to be crowded. But i want to book a guide/tour that can help me still have a semi private experience. I must have a private tour, I don't want a group (of strangers) alongside. I have every other day of my trip to be social and friendly, this day i want to myslef. I know I'll see other people. But i just want it to be me and my guide. And a visit to a hot springs after sounds nice to Anyways, I am wondering if you have any tips opinions or even recommendations for a Sunrise Hike. Tips for me as a first time Mount Batur hiker. Navigating that particular crowd. Thank you for your time. 🙏🏾
Note: I will be in Selat traveling to Mount Batur. Currently my Airbnb Activities include a tour booking. But I've been wondering should I book outside my accommodations. Additionally, can guides easily get to me in Selat. Maybe a silly question, I don't know, but no harm in asking. I know Selat is a smaller village not a large city. I'm unsure how'd that effect booking such an excursion
Sounds like a wonderful plan! (and happy 30th!) I don't have any specific guides to recommend you unfortunately. But if your accommodation host seems great, booking through them could be fine. Of course, googling around can also find you plenty. I would recommend talking to the guide on WhatsApp before booking - so you can be clear on the plans and that you want to go solo, agree on price etc. Selat is a lovely place, and close enough that it should be fine. And in any case, the guide/tour will help you with transportation. So that should be no issue.

Hej Adam. Fed video. Tusind tak. Vi skal til Bali i juli og har planlagt nusa lembongan, ubud, gili Air og sanur. Vi har 4 dage og valget står mellem munduk eller sideman. Gad vide om du har en anbefaling om hvad vi skal vælge. Tak for dit flotte arbejde.
Hi Adam! Really good video! I’m travelling to Bali for 1 year with my 14 years old son and my husband, starting on September. How many time do you recommend us to stay in each place, and a 1 year itinerary you think is the best. It could be help us a lot🙏🏼
That sounds amazing, I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time! - That is really hard to answer though, as it will depend a lot on what you want to see, do, are you working, do you want beach, jungle etc etc.. However, what I will recommend, is to perhaps rent a place for a couple of weeks initially, probably somewhere like Canggu, Seminyak or Sanur just to get settled and then from there visit different places and see what you like. We liked to stay 1-2 months in each place, just to try some different places - but if you find a great place to stay where it's easy to do trips from, why not stay even longer. If you need some inspiration where to start looking, here are some areas I like that also has some great places to stay, restaurants etc: Uluwatu, Pererenan/canggu, Seseh, Sanur, Ubud (staying just a bit outside the center is better to avoid crazy traffic), Sidemen, Amed, Lovina. You could also spend some time on the islands like Nusa Penida or even the Gili Islands. Always try to see the places in person before you rent for longer periods of time - especially if you rely on good wifi - so you can test it and see what the area is like etc.
I’m sure it’s not! It’s honestly a lot worse in many places. I think people just come expecting peaceful beach vibes, and then get disappointed when there’s a quite a lot of traffic. Doesn’t really fit with the ‘Bali dream’. Thanks for watching 🙏
@thenordicadam I'm coming to Bali tomorrow for 4 weeks. I week near Ubud, then other places in East and North Bali, and finishing in Nusa Penida. I've not been to Bali before, and appreciate your vlog.
For tourist chasing by monkey can be very creepy, but as Indonesian i see it as something funny. I mean, they same like stray cats, stray dogs, simple brain, want food. Try not to bring anything at all, cause they think you bring something for them and star to gathering on you. By the way, less crowd they become more brave bruh. Because monkey is group animal, they usually stolen something from farmer together. By the way nice info for the other monkey forest location.

It seems the port in Amed is closed going to the Gilis (or even to Lombok). Do we have to transfer to Padang Bai port first?
Ah that sucks! You can ask around - but I would assume you'd need to go to Padang bai then, yes.

Awesome video. Where in Amed can I rent a normal bicycle?
Good question! In Amed, I honestly don't know. If it's hard to find information about it online, I would ask around - probably at the hotel.
I don't need to go to Bali, now.
You've shown me the best spots.
Beuatiful video. I ve been too Bali many times, I think mass tourism is the cause that the island lost its magic. But it still is a beautiful island.
